Devil in Disguise on Peacock - John Wayne Gacy (1 Viewer)

I pointed out the Alien TV show on FX and many of you either joined right in or were already watching
This is not an adrenaline rush or action type series but more of a slower moving walk thru time, however it has some creepy parts to it, lot of creepy scenes

-I think they do a solid job of capturing the time period they are telling the story from
-The producers of this show decide to jump right into 1978 when the police start trailing Gacy everywhere and for good reason which I'll explain.
Most of this time period can be fact checked thru the police who investigated so there's not a lot of creative interpretation when it comes to the cops, the discovery of all the bodies, etc...
Whatever we see in time periods of different victims leading up to this point is mostly information that Gacy gives to the police, while most of it checks out, you are relying on a psychopath to fill in holes

Gacy usually targeted young teenage boys 14-18 that were runaways and just getting off the greyhound buses rolling into Chicago, he makes a mistake going after a 15 yr old working in a local pharmacy
Something like 33 murders have been attributed to Gacy

They say Season 1 but I'm not sure how many seasons they could possible go with this, fells more like this should be wrapped up after one season, there's 8 episodes
The commercials are rather annoying but I guess you can upgrade on Peacock and avoid the commercials

And since you might be going to Peacock anyways, checkout the SNL Documentary on the head writer for SNL that also writes for the beginning of Late Night w/Letterman, most will like it
-Back to Devil in Disguise, give it a look. The actor who plays John Wayne Gacy is excellent and I don't know how he could have enjoyed playing him but he does an excellent job getting the crazy down
Gacy actually tries to cozy up with the cops as they are finding bodies, he acts like they are going to let him go live at home or get bail and that's never gonna happen but they keep humoring him
It's amazing the amount of details Gacey spills. He almost thinks of himself as a politician, lot of the missing children networks erupt out of these serial killers that operated in times where cameras were not quite everywhere yet and they could hide in plain sight.

Interesting in watching this. There have been several Gacy movies/docs over the years - like the movie from several years ago in which Gacy was portrayed by the older fat kid from League of Their Own - but they've been mixed at best.

I see a MoP thread about John Wayne Gacy and wonder why he didn't put it in the Streaming thread that contains every other show on TV ever.
My next one is gonna be on the Golden Bachelor
Is that a James Bond documentary?
This season they had an ex-Rams LB from the 80s, I was not familiar with him but he had a real career
We only watched one episode trying to find the new time slot for Shark Tank, it was just so silly watching these old ladies get in cheerleading outfits to impress this guy
