I have the Bears D, and without Hester touching the ball they stink. I looked at recap, and the had a Ron Davis handling kickoffs? Did he field a punt? what is Lovie thinking of (who knows, with his manlove for Grossman and Benson)

Um, they were kicking the ball away from Hester yesterday. Lovie's got no control over who they kick it too.

They didn't kick to hester once. Short kickoffs and punts out of bounds.

As a Bears fan, I'll TAKE IT. The Eagles were giving the Bears the ball at the 35-45 all day long by avoiding Hester.

Sure, he breaks them and can change the game. But if a team is willing to give us the ball at the 40, I'll never complain. At that point, the field position game is won already.

I don't think teams will do that across the board, but it'll happen more often I'm sure.

You are absolutely correct. You can't continue to give the Bears the ball on the 40 just because their returner "might" break one. They basically have to make 2-3 first downs and they are in field goal range. If they don't get any first downs all it takes is a good punt and you are now pinned in your own territory. I guess you can see how much Reid (or any other coach who does this).... trusts his kickoff team to make a tackle. They deserved to lose giving away field position as easy as that.
