DEZ BLOWUP (2 Viewers)

I feel that his passion will end up with him in prison some day. The behavior is pathetic and less than what an adult man should act like.

After all his tantrums he was in there. I think that says alot about Jason Garrett's leadership. You have a player that was throwing temper tantrums, complete with arms flailing, on the sideline all game. He was screaming at his position coach, Tony Romo, Jason Witten, and Demarcus Ware. He ignored Witten's request to talk about the next play. And despite that, he gets to go in on the last play.
Of course he was in there. They're trying to win the game, not satisfy some kneejerk grandmother fans who feel some people in the world need to be taught lessons.

That wasnt even the worst of it. Earlier, he was in Romo's face, goin off. It looked pretty bad. It totally reminded me of T.O. when he'd follow his QB or coaches around the sidelines ranting and raving. Fricken diva B.S. I just dont think he can channel his passion in a way that will benefit the team. He needs to be more Sean Lee and less Terrell Owens.

Terrell Owens did this a few years ago. Romo and Witten are not trying to win Super Bowls, they want to make as much money as they can from an owner who overpays everyone and they are planning for life after football. If they win a few games along the way then so be it. The quicker Dez gets in line the better.

SARCASM

Dez has a lot of passion and he is making some pretty insane catches, he wants to see the intensity from the other superstars. Maybe he knows what is missing from the end of these games, intensity.

Maybe what's missing is discipline.

Whatever about this passion BS. I think he was initially screaming about not getting the ball (I know he was) - then stayed in that same angry mode all day long. Give your team a dressing down in the locker room at halftime if need be, or on the practice field. But you don't scream and show up your head coach, offensive coordinator, quarterback, Pro Bowl tight end, members of the defense etc all game long. This was worse than anything I ever saw T.O. do. Not kidding.

From the top of that front office to the bottom on the field, 100% agree.

OK but he doesn't do it all the time, maybe those yuppies needed a good shakedown.

Romo claims differently after the game, but you can't be sure he was honest. But you don't know any more than the rest of us.

Before I saw SARCASM, I was fired up! haha!

I dont think its passion or intensity, its lack of execution. Our defense is not good. The offense wasnt super sharp, but they made enough plays and didnt turn the ball over. We got +4 t.o.'s and still lost! That #### dont happen!

When I saw him screaming it was about not being on the field for an important play. At that time the announcers were questioning why Bryant wasn't on the field for that play.

How do you know what he was screaming about?

Not trying to defend him going nuts on the sidelines here but his teammates all had his back right after the game. They could have said nothing or even aired him out a bit to the media but they went out of their way to defend him.

Well to bad he did not bring that "passion" on the last 12 seconds. Everyone running full speed and there was Dez just jogging a few yards down field. You would think they would try to get the ball down field to Dez, then have the Stanford play.

That doesn't mean anything, could just be damage control and modeling how a player should behave when the cameras are on them.

Thats how these things always go. Witten and Romo downplay it because they are thinking about the team. Dez is more about Dez than the team. We wouldnt be talking about it if he wasnt. Its obvious. Sure, he wants to win, but I got the feeling that this game was more about Dez v. Megatron for him.

So other guys not acting like total tools and DB's somehow validates Dez's foolish and DB behavior?

Those other guys are doing what they think is the right thing for their teammate and team. They shouldn't be selling him out and they didn't.

I love how people seem to think nobody else on the Cowboys cares but Dez. Priceless stuff!
Yeah, especially the care that was telling Bryant to shut up and get ready because there's still 12 seconds on the clock. That guy, who was ready to play and give it his all on the field until the final whistle, he doesn't care apparently.

Not validating his behavior. He was acting immature, not professional, etc.

Just saying a lot of people acting like they know way more than they do. Saying you know exactly what he was saying on the sidelines, all his teammates only saying positive things about him for damage control. How do you know this?

this is ridiculous. Obviously you don't watch game to game to think that he's only about himself. Moss and T.O. put a bad taste in people's mouth over divas. It's easy for non-cowboy fans to say he is a diva because of what ESPN or NFL network chooses to show. But if you read in interviews and listen to beat writers Dez ( yes a hot head) is someone that lives and breathes his team, football and winning. I agree he probably needs to learn how to channel his frustrations better but someone like him that is an elite player that tries and gives 100% on every snap probably can't fathom why others can't do the things he's doing. He's 24 years old and this will come in time.Anybody that posts in this thread saying he's a diva or any other comment of that ilk proves that they do not know anything about Dez or the Cowboys and ONLY what the media chooses to show and hype to give their channel a story to talk about.

Why does it matter if people know exactly what he was saying? His body language and gestures spoke loud enough for everyone to see.

They spoke loudly enough for everyone to see he'd lost his temper, nothing more. That happens on both sidelines, every game.

They tried to, but Dez was too busy screaming at everyone on the sidelines for them to explain the play to him.

That's what Witten got so upset about. They were trying to draw up a play to Dez at the end but Dez was too busy whining to have any part of it. It's utterly ridiculous that you can't talk to a guy you're paying millions of dollars to about an upcoming play because he's being a baby.

Hey FB, Dallas wasted 5 seconds of the 12 they had on the kick off. The last play was a joke, should have been a 20 yard out attempt, then Hail Mary.

Guess Dez was justified then.

Ah, more middle-aged, stuffy white people chiming in about a heat of the moment outburst. How many of the posts in here so far have really been Roger Goodell aliases?

That's passion, fellas. Better to have it than not.
Not that brand of passion that has the potential of becoming toxic in the locker room. No excuse for his behavior. Passion can be expressed in more productive ways. Let's not spin today's tantrums as a good thing.
per Witten:"We have a great relationship with him. This is a close-knit group. He has more passion than anyone I've ever played with. That's a good thing to have. With 12 seconds left, we were all upset, but there was still time left. I tried to communicate that. There was more football to play. We were going to get the ball back and the play we had drawn up, he was a big part of that play. We were trying to get him to calm down because we were going to try to get him the ball on that play."

Witten reiterated he has "no hard feelings" for Bryant.

"I love that kid like a brother," Witten said. "There are no hard feelings. DeMarcus and I talked to him. He's a great receiver and plays his tail off week-in and week-out. It's as simple as that. It's a disappointing loss. Dez is a guy who plays with his heart. We all do. Those things come up."

Witten says he has more passion than anyone he's played. That shows.
I think I like him even more now. I'm inspired.

he should be yelling at the defense.... crazy rod marenelli was on camera for a minute yelling at his linebackers... but he's a coach so that is ok

What does race have to do with this? Dez flipped out. The fact that he's black is irrelevant.

To be frank, they should of gotten him the ball more often. I mean after his blow up he goes for a 50 yard TD. He's BY FAR their best player, I would have been pissed too if I was ignored all game. Obviously he goes about it the wrong way, but he wasn't wrong that they weren't including him in the game.

Not to mention it was an on-going drama not a heat of the moment outburst.
I guess people want to just ignore that part of the story

Congrats on conveniently ignoring the age aspect.
Oh stop. If you're going to call the race card, own it. Don't #### out and back away from it.

He's a horrible passionate whining cancer in a locker room. With that being said--please trade him to me in every fantasy football format possible--because I'm happy to take him and his immaturity on all of my rosters. lol

What I don't understand is when someone like Rodgers or Peyton or Brady blatantly show up their teammates by screaming at them they don't get nearly as much criticism as a "diva wr" like Dez. Seems odd to me.
Yes, it's odd that when Rodgers and Peyton and Brady act the way Dez did, the get no criticism.

Wait, those guys have never acted like that.
What??! I see Brady yell at a ref and/or WR like every other week. What games are you watching?

What are you talking about? You're the one who selectively responded. The SP is notorious for responding like a bunch of old white guys. You know, like Wilford Brimley. You can honestly tell me that your reaction would be the same for any WR in the NFL? If you say yes, you are either delusional or deliberately lying.
