Dez Bryant Possibly Out for the Season (1 Viewer)

You are correct - only one Steelers CB worth a lick in this game and he is banged up. Add in no pass rush and they made Rivers look like Montana. I fully expect adjustments and a better performance by the Steelers this week, but at least one Dallas WR is going to have a big game.

Regardless of FF implications, or all of us speculating how his finger will affect his game, as a Cowboys fan I like that he is deciding to play because they have a shot at the playoffs.

These kinds of things can mean something to teammates.

ESPN Dallas reports that Dez Bryant (finger, questionable) is expected to play on Sunday against the Steelers.Bryant has stated all along that he will play, so this isn't surprising news. After missing practice on Wednesday to visit a hand specialist, Bryant returned to limited sessions on Thursday and Friday. Dez checks in as Rotoworld's No. 17 receiver this week, but that could go up on Sunday morning with the assurance that he's playing. We'd treat Bryant as a WR1.Source: Calvin Watkins on Twitter Dec 15 - 3:38 PMhttp://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5558/dez-bryant

Really tempted to start Dez because of his upside, but Cincy's defense and kicker have me out in front this week by a healthy margin. I'll take my chances on lower risk options Gore or Sproles for my flex. I just think they have higher floors, and that's more important when you are playing with the lead.

I'd absolutely agree here.

Cincy D helped me big. I have Dez, Hartline, and LaFell left for my flex. Hartline is slotted right now.So tempted to start Dez for his upside.

Any thoughts on Gordon vs. Dez?
Not to turn this into the WDIS thread, but FWIW I have the same decision. I feel like I'm favored in my match-up so I'm leaning towards the safer points. I'm sure I'll go back and forth until kickoff. I don't think a guy that stands to have permanent loss of flexibility in the finger would play if he thought he was just going to be a decoy, but that's no guarantee that he doesn't drop the first 3 passes in his direction or fall hard on that hand on the first drive. If I felt like I needed the home run I'd definitely go with Dez.

What do u do if the matchup is super even? Im neither favored and need the safest points nor a large dog. Bryant vs hartline vs britt

Exact 3 guys I can't decide between in ppr. I need to pick 2 though. Im all ears for others thoughts but At this point I've got Bryant in and can't decide between Britt and Hartline.

This is a bit of dilemma for me. Dez has been a stud for me as of late, but this finger concerns me. My other options if I decide to bench him are Greg Jennings, Mikel Leshoure, or Beanie Wells. I'm thinking that I may just wait til after the early games to decide if I want to put one of the RBs in for him at the flex.

keep us updated...

In the one dynasty league I own him I have no choice. Bess has been ruled out, Jordy Nelson is out.....Going with Dez over starting a 3rd RB (Ingram or Woodhead)

Rolling the dice.

Don't know why, I'm not stressing this at all. Playing him in a bunch of leagues over other good options.

no brainer. agreed

Bryant had 1 catch for 15 yards the last time he came back from an injury. Atlanta, week 9.
IIRC, he did not practice at all that week because of the hip, which is a different type of injury that prevented Dez's explosiveness. He was able to practice this week. I am concerned about the finger too, but you're comparing "apples to oranges".

How did he practice this week? The news yesterday was he was playing catch and throwing the ball back with his right hand. (He's left handed.) That doesn't sound like full practice to me so I wouldn't make much out of it.

No practice vs playing catch is comparing oranges to tangerines at worst.

While it`s true that he did play catch, I have to disagree with the bolded:Dez Bryant (questionable, finger) played catch with DeMarco Murray prior to the Cowboys' Friday practice.

Bryant primarily threw the ball back and forth with his right hand. Dez is a southpaw. Bryant did catch "a few passes" in Thursday's practice and was expected to do more on Friday. His participation in team drills was officially listed as limited. "His mindset is to play in the game," said coach Jason Garrett, "and we're excited about that. And we'll continue to evaluate him." As I stated earlier, I`m concerned about the finger as a Dez owner...he did not practice AT ALL week 9, due to the hip

Dez...For better or worst.... your the reason I made it this far into the playoffs... I'll ride or die with you bro....

Never Bench Your Studs Applies to Dez Bryant all Day/Night

Any late news or analysis on this situation? I still have the option to start Dez or another WR going at 4:25 ET so wasn't sure if there was any last-minute stuff coming from warmups or whatever.

If he's going to body catch to protect the hand, at least give him some screens so he can use his YAC skills. Otherwise he's just a decoy.

Yes, I know. I'm glad for you guys (but not glad as a Steelers fan). I still think he was a risky play.
