I noticed it too, but I just assumed a piece of digital equipment was malfunctioning, like when my cable box does it.I've already seen this discussed on another board. I didn't notice it myself. But, quite a few other people did at the time it happened.
Yeah you're right, it should just be swept under the rug and ignored. After all it is the Coltswow seriously... they win the game and the fans cant just be proud they have the best team in the nflwe have to put up w/ these lame threads.sore winners
I remember the Vikings being accused of doing this, too, back in '98.They've been doing this for 6 yearsIt's good to have some hard evidence.
But they could tell if the CD was skipping...It sounded like feedback to me, a technical error on the broadcast.I think it would be pretty impossible for people in the crowd to know if crowd noise was faked or not.
I don't know much about this sorta thing, but how could just the crowd noise part of the broadcast get screwed up and nothing else? But they could tell if the CD was skipping...It sounded like feedback to me, a technical error on the broadcast.I think it would be pretty impossible for people in the crowd to know if crowd noise was faked or not.
Because there are a ton of audio channels for the game, different mics everywhere. Any one that was accidentally open would pick up crowd noise since it was in the stadium and since they weren't using that channel there was no one talking on it. Just got left open and started to feedback the only sound it was picking up, the crowd.ETA: We don't know if that sound was heard at the stadium or just over the TV. I would assume that if Pats, game officials or even any Pats fans at the game heard it they would've said something more official than Youtube "evidence"I don't know much about this sorta thing, but how could just the crowd noise part of the broadcast get screwed up and nothing else? But they could tell if the CD was skipping...It sounded like feedback to me, a technical error on the broadcast.I think it would be pretty impossible for people in the crowd to know if crowd noise was faked or not.
It's not a big deal. But I always thought it was well known that the Colts did this. And the people who are saying it's crazy, how many people heard it live during the broadcast?...apparently a handful. Someone go Tivo this ####. And you "Dawrecker", opened this thread. The title was not misleading. If you don't like what you read hear, hit the bricks. If something surfaces from this it will be fun to hear what Dungy has to say.i thought this site was a place to find good information instead of total garbage. We all know the pats are the team that cheats to win.
This is not the only time Indy has been accused of manipulating crowd noise.Audio equipment malfunctions for those watching at home, and the first thing that pops into your mind is that someone must be cheating? People who have lives wouldnt have the time to think up this something that stupid. Some of you guys, on the other hand...
This is worse than Cameragate.Wonder what Goodell will do. Seems like intentionally attempting to cause delay of game penalties seems like cheating.
Or like a microphone? If they had a mic open that was broadcasting crowd noise, then started feeding back and they cut it, then the crownd noise would drop because the mic picking it up was cut.I think the most telling sign is that as soon as the play ends, the crowd noise suddenly drops from really loud to very quiet, and while it is normal for the crowd to get quiet after a big play by the visiting team, the way it sounded when it dropped did not sound natural. It sounded like a tape being turned off. Now, I know that the networks sometime like to make the crowd noise sound louder on television, to enhance the feel of the game for the viewer, so I am not sure how much that might have to do with it.
Didn't sound like feedback to me. Sounded exactly like it sounds when a CD is skipping.Or like a microphone? If they had a mic open that was broadcasting crowd noise, then started feeding back and they cut it, then the crownd noise would drop because the mic picking it up was cut.
wow seriously... they win the game and the fans cant just be proud they have the best team in the nflwe have to put up w/ these lame threads.sore winners
There are different types of feedback, it doesn't all sound like guitar feedback. I'm not saying it didn't happen, that sound could certainly be a CD skipping. But until there's a source that was at the stadium claiming they heard it, it's a technical TV goof up. It sounded like feedback to me and I have a decent background in broadcasting and television production. If it happened at the stadium we will hear about it, but other than a POed NE fan's youtube clip, there is no substance to this story.Didn't sound like feedback to me. Sounded exactly like it sounds when a CD is skipping.Or like a microphone? lol, really profanity?im guessing southiewow seriously... they win the game and the fans cant just be proud they have the best team in the nflwe have to put up w/ these lame threads.sore winnersShut the #### up.Like there isn't enough threads bashing NE, accusing them of cheating, leg whipping, running up the score, etc.Get over it.
Yes it is. The Giants have repeatedly accused the Seahawks of doing it and the league investigated it, finding nothing other than an accoustically well designed stadium. Dunno what the penalty is but it is definitely illegal.I don't think anyone has answered the question: is this actually a violation of NFL rules?
Broadcasting something over the speakers whenever the other team is on offense???I would have to imagine it would be.I don't think anyone has answered the question: is this actually a violation of NFL rules?
I know for a fact that Minnesota used to do this all the time and was told to quit.Clearly Indy should forfeit the game. Possibly lose 1st rounders the next year as well.
I can't quote chapter and verse, but yes it is. I believe the Redskins have been accused of this too in years past. The recording is interesting, but not definitive and I don't recall any allegations against Indy in this regard.I don't think anyone has answered the question: is this actually a violation of NFL rules?
