The Rays lost their setup man and closer, Carl Crawford and yet Maddon skippers them into the playoffs again. Losing Crawford played a huge part for both teams since he basically booted away any chances the RedSox had but you have to give Maddon credit where credit is due.

Since mid-September, the O's split a 4 game series with the Yankees, took 3 of 4 from the Sox in Fenway, took 2 of 3 in Detroit, 2 of 3 against the Angels in Baltimore and 2 of 3 against the Sox to knock them out. I think there was a 2 of 3 against the Rays too. they had a nice little run in September against a bunch of contenders.

I know it doesn't count in the voting, but I love his call of pitching Moore in game 1 on the road. He had only had 1 start, and that was in New York in a pennant race. The Rangers have never seen him, and he was one of the top pitching prospects in the minors.

Joe can manage my team any time!
