Dieon rips eagles fans (1 Viewer)

Fans in NE and Indy haven't booed Manning and Brady because those two haven't really given them any reason to, not because they are white.
Pats fans (myself included) did boo Drew Bledsoe however, when it was obvious that the Pats would never take the next step with him at the helm. Doesn't change the fact that I stood and cheered when NE brought him back for a pre-game celebration a year or so ago. I still appreciate how he helped bring this franchise to where it is now. And when his number gets retired and they have Drew Bledsoe Day at Gillette, no one will cheer louder than I will. But his time had come.I'd imagine Philly fans are feeling the same right about now.

I am not saying he was being a straight up racist. It just came across that way also, from reading the artcle a bit. I have yet to see the interview on tape and don't really care too. As for being relentless to the nfl network guys, yes they were relentless. Pretty funny too.

Maybe I am being optimistic but I don't think 1/5 of people in philly want him gone because he is black. I think that is far from the case.

Eagle fans are the worst fans in the NFL. Hands down.
And you know this how?Is it because you are like a sheep and buy into all of the drivel that the sports media shoves down your throat? You say this because of Santa and snowballs and booing? You think you know but you don't...just keep drinking the cool-aid that the agenda driven media keeps shoving down your throat. They can't print a story about Philly without including the words "boo", "snowball" or "Santa" in the story. I can cite many examples of fans in other stadiums throwing snowballs...as a matter of fact, we just had one last Saturday at Notre Dame...they threw snowballs at their own team. You only hear about incidents here in Philly because that's the way the media operates...it allows them to continue to propagate their anti-Philly fan negative stereotype. You just keep acting like a sheep for the media buddy....

I think Deion is right on the money, FWIW. Philly has a high percentage of tools in the fanbase. They have no idea about sportsmanship at all. There is a reason they have a court right on the premises.
Yea that was back at the vet. Nice try. Most of the tool box people are from WIP. The sports radio that has a few loud mouth guys on there. If one of them says go boo westbrook at the players entrance, they will. Again this is in any city though. You will have your small % that stands through. Like all those fans that tossed bottles during that browns game a few back...just a few that spoil the bunch.

Sadly in philly those few are the ones that get most media attention. Could you imagine how much coverage philadelphia would have got if they pulled the billboard prank like bengals fans did? ( which rocked ).

I still want to hear what the janitor has to say.
Unfortunately, I think the OP is turning a blind eye towards his hmetown fans in a rather well-named way. Before you say I have no clue about what I'm talking about just like others, please note my location.1. Philly fan toolish behavior predates WIP. Yes Cataldi's dirty 30 were reponsible for what they did at the draft, but the general boorishness & low IQ is on them. WIP selects those people, precisely because a lot of fans self-identify with that behavior. That will prove the toolish behavior is not caused by WIP, but they've amped it up - deliberately.

2. The Santa thing IS overblown, there's debate as to whether he was drunk or not, he was a fill-in satna, etc. Still it happened.

3. You immediately accusing Deion of playing the race card is pretty weak, and incorrect.

4. There is a segment of fans, >10-15% in my estimation, who want him gone specifically bcause he's black. I'd estimate it's 1 in 5 from my personal experiences, and I'm cutting that in half for the general populace so I don't overvalue my anecdotal evidence.

5. The toughness & loyalty is great, but the physical violence is not. For example: beating up on women wearing the opposing teams outfits at the World Series is not - I know it's a different sport, but I was there at the Vet watching it and trying to get the authorities involved.
I was in Tampa for the first two games of that series...I watched Phillies fans get treated even worse. I was thankful I had no Phillies gear on, but I saw many incidents of violence against the fans while security looked on and did nothing.Quite ironic that you never hear anything about those incidents...only when they happen in Philly

I heard LA was worse for Philly fans. And when the Santa booing comes up, I just respond with "Dallas booed the National Anthem". And Cleveland fans cheered Tim Couch when he was on the turf with a concussion. And had at least one game delayed due to stuff being thrown on the field.

It's the media...[/Chris Rock]

They had one of the greatest Heavyweight fighters of all time come out of Philly. He doesn't have a statue, but Rocky does.
Wow how astute... you are aware the statue was a movie prop right?
A movie prop that was displayed publicly for 20 years. Isn't it back on the Phili museum of art steps?
So F'n what? It was displayed outside the Spectrum; where the fight took place & at the art museum; also kinda an important seen in the movie. The movie did win several Academy Awards & the statue was donated to the city by Stallone. It's not exactly foreign to have a sculpture on the site of a museum. The city populace has always embraced the "working class hero" character from the original film, big deal. Tourists are always getting their picture taken with it so apparently the locals aren't the only ones that identify with it.

Deion is just a little whiny bish. He's :lmao: because the fans around the set last night were relentlessly taunting him all night. As for McNabb, yes the vast majority of eagles fans still want him as QB. Philly just happens to have an extremely vocal minority. I happen to be one who knows that McNabb cant win the big game. So, yeah he's the best the Eagles have ever had. But, he's still not good enough (or tough enough mentally) to win a big game
So you'd rather have Dilfer?Seriously, one player, even if it's the QB, does NOT a champion make.I agree that McNabb is not good enough to put a team on his back and win a big game. SO what? Very precious few QB's are, and every one of THOSE Qb's is (or will be) a HOFer. McNabb is good enough to win a championship with, and he's also better then 75-85% of the other QB's out there. For that reason...it borders on lunacy for any reasonable Eagles fan to actually want to change QB's. You're better off demanding all-pros at other positions, because it's much, much easier to find enough other position all-pros to win a champinonship with then it is to find that HOF QB who can carry your team there. The anti-McNabb rhetoric from such a significant percentage of Philly fans is, to be brutally honest, assinine. God, it hurts to agree with Deion about anything though. That punk should NOT be in any studio.

Such a ridiculous, blanket statement based on absolutely nothing. Eagles fans do not act any differently than any other city that is passionate about their football team. Every stadium has their share of idiots scattered throughout the crowd. The fans that are bashing McNabb and Reid are just tired of the same old schtick. And by schtick I mean... Andy Reid telling everyone in the press room "I need to do a better job" after a tough loss.... McNabb choking away big games in the final few minutes... Reid's absolute refusal to initiate a running game... the dink and dunk passing without ever attempting to stretch the field... McNabb smiling after he makes a crucial turnover.... and.... what else am I missing?I've been an Eagles fan forever. But it's just gotten really tough to support this team. They just aren't fun to watch.

it's hard to shed the stereotype. just like the Dallas stereotype of crack, thugs, etc.....once you are under the microscope any little thing is blown up from there on out.

they sell out every game, have a waiting list over 70,000 long for season tickets, travel to away games in huge #'s, and are extremely opinionated. they also have a pretty good reputation of being bullies, which i think gives them some personality, unlike some other cities' fans. could they use some better manners? sure. are they the most knowledgeable fans? no way. but they are no where near the worst fans, however you classify that distinction. they really aren't that different from fans in other blue collar big cities.

maybe not worst fans. how bout most obnoxious. must be that huge chip on their shoulders.

Hes basically saying as a QB, McNabb ranks right up there with Brady and Manning, and he should get the respect of the fans a QB of that quality would get. No race issues addressed.

How does Tom Brady make the "currently" list? He hasn't played a down since Week 1 this season.I see Phil Rivers and Matt Ryan fading next year; nothing factual - just a hunch. That still puts McNabb@ a Top 10 QB in this league. Still not too shabby....Let Philly trade McNabb, they'll come to regret it. :)

I don't see how Matt Ryan "fades" until around 2020. And I'm no particular fan of his - but it's fairly common knowledge that the game will never get faster for a QB than in his rookie year. Considering he's still at the base of his learning curve and has other playmakers to support him (Turner, White) I don't see it. Unless you're just arguing the theoretical "sophomore slump" which, for that I have no rational argument.

Tom Brady

Drew Brees

Tony Romo

Brett Favre

Kurt Warner

Ben Rothliesberger

Phillip Rivers

Eli Manning

Matt Ryan

Jay Cutler

Thats 11 out of 32. Right now he is a pretty middle of the road QB.
So, One of the fans who wants McNabb gone can only list 11 "better" starters? Meaning DMac is better then 67% of the starting field.I disagree with several names on your list...but it doesn't matter, because that list is whoafully short to use as an excuse to run a franchise back out of town.

YOUR'S IS EXACTLY THE LINE OF "REASONING" THAT HAS SO MANY NON-EAGLES FANS LAUGHING AT US EAGLES FANS.

4. There is a segment of fans, >10-15% in my estimation, who want him gone specifically bcause he's black. I'd estimate it's 1 in 5 from my personal experiences, and I'm cutting that in half for the general populace so I don't overvalue my anecdotal evidence.
How scientific of you.You guys remember when Irvin was hurt in Philly and Deion tried to do some rain dance around him to heal him? Philly fans booed that too if I recall. Deion is probably just mad his rain dance didn't work as intended.

it's hard to shed the stereotype. just like the Dallas stereotype of crack, thugs, etc.....once you are under the microscope any little thing is blown up from there on out.
Actually, it's only hard to shed due to the fact that the media continues to use it to validate their biased agenda. The Dallas stereotype SHOULD be more of a topic with the additions of Adam Jones (I won't call this loser "Pac Man") and Tank....bu tinstead they make the Dallas game the national game of the week EVERY SINGLE WEEK.....if you live in a non NFL market you were able to watch EVERY Dallas game but 2 AND you'll be able to watch them in 4 of their next 5.Notre Dame fans pelted their players with snowballs on Saturday, Derek Anderson got injured and his own fans CHEERED the injury, etc, etc......all you remember is Mcnabb getting booed, Santa and snowballs because that's all the media wants you to remember.

Deion ripped Eagles fans again today during a highlights show.

'Yeah, I said it. I hate Eagles fans. He starts off 8 for 8 and they boo him for an incompletion.' Apparently, he doesn't believe fans were booing the play selection. Whatever.

I have a feeling Dieon hasn't heard anything like what he's going to hear next time he shows his face in Philly  Did Cleveland fans really cheer Anderson's injury? If so, that's twice for them. Far worse, imo, than Philly fans supposedly cheering Irvin. Both are bad, but cheering your own player is pretty low class. I don't think fans outside of Philly and Dallas fully understand the mutual hatred. Long before Philly fans cheered (allegedly) Irvin, Dallas fans welcomed Buddy Ryan to town by throwing pork chop bones at him, after he nearly choked to death. But cheering your own player's injury?!? Twice?
