Diggs hurt (1 Viewer)

Diggs was helped off the field and was last seen with an ice bag on his right knee.

Keith Adams is the probable replacement if Diggs is out long-term, but he'd just be keeping the spot warm for James Anderson and is so mediocre as to not warrant much IDP attention. Adams was rumored to be on the chopping block this week but would probably be kept around if Diggs' injury is serious.

Any chance the Panthers shuffle their LBs around and Thomas Davis ends up at WLB because of this?

Probably just wishful thinking.

Panthers | Diggs told ACL is intactThu, 24 Aug 2006 21:47:09 -0700Pat Yasinskas, of the Charlotte Observer, reports Carolina Panthers LB Na'il Diggs (knee) does not believe his injury is severe and was told his ACL is intact. Diggs was injured during the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 24. Head coach John Fox did not have the details on the extent of the injury and Diggs was replaced by LB Keith Adams Thursday. The team could use LB Chris Draft or LB Adam Seward if Diggs is out for a long time.*****************From what I have read and seen Thomas Davis has locked into the SLB job. The Panthers realize that moving him around last year ######ed his growth and I can't imagine that they would do this again. He appears to be a natural at SLB and could fall into the same category that Mark Fields was when he was there. From a fantasy perspective he also appears to be like Dansby,Washington, D Johnson in that he will be productive for us from the strongside.Tom

It seems Thomas Davis is definitely playing in nickel packages.

He's got 10 preseason solos. 5 of those were made when Carolina's opponent was in the shotgun and 6 were made on passing plays. He's tackled RBs 7 times and 1 WR, 1 TE and 1 QB (although he wasn't awarded a sack).

So it looks like he may be a positive play against teams that like to throw to their backs.

It also looks like Davis swallowed another LB. He is damn near 1/4 larger than he was last year. All I know is that he knocked W. Welker back to Lubbock last night. Yes, Welker held onto the football put Davis put serious pads into Mr. Welker. I don't think Davis gets moved. It appears Fox has found a home for him at SLB. Davis was all over the field last night. On a side note...D. Williams had some serious wiggle...broke W. Allen's ankles...but he whiffed on two blitz pick-ups. One was heavily disguised and the other was obvious. He was ran into the quarterback and knocked on his ***/ran over on the two plays in question. If he is going to get playing time in games that count, he has to improve in that area. Otherwise the kid is not going to see the field.

Diggs got the start. i believe it was on ST's play he got hurt, so he might not have even goten a snap at LB, but he was the starter.
