Divisional Round **Jacksonville at Kansas City** (-9.5, 52) K.C advances to their 5th Straight AFCC (1 Viewer)

Well, Chiefs...if there was every a time to get it going now is the time. Jags are gonna be a tough one and they won't be scared of Arrowhead.

I think Jacksonville covers that number for sure and they can definitely win this game.

This one has the potential to turn into an Arena League game. If Trevor puts two good halves together this could be very interesting. Experience counts and The Chiefs are loaded in that area.
The head coaches know each other very well. Great atmosphere in Arrowhead for sure. I'm going to say Patrick gets his team in the end zone one more time than Trevor...

Kansas City- 37
Jacksonville- 27

Chiefs are 1 win away from a 5th straight trip to the AFCC
Yeah. And they need to cash in.

Yes, they won the one Super Bowl and went to another. But that Super Bowl can't be a footnote to Mahome's career. Maybe he's Aaron Rodgers and that's all he gets. But to me he needs to be better. You can't disappear in the second half like last year against the Bengals.

It's time for Mahomes to take that next step into multiple Super Bowl winner. He's in his prime NOW. Chiefs need to take advantage.

I will also add: I thought at the beginning of this year this more or less a rebuild type year for the Chiefs. The trade of Hill was necessary for the Chiefs to get younger and less expensive since Mahome's cap number is going to start going up. So for me, I believe NEXT year is the year they were shooting for where all phases really come together.

2024-$256M estimate for Salary Cap
Wouldn't worry about Mahomes' paycheck, sure he'll convert salary to help the Chiefs free up dollars if they need
I like the way the Chiefs "rebuild" and get the 1-seed same year and I'm not making fun of you, it's a compliment to Andy Reid and their FO
I know you want 3-4 Super Bowl victories during this run but I'd give my eye teeth to trade places with you all.
5 AFCC visits
You're spoiled ;)

I love what the Chiefs did. Made an effort to rebuild and shore up their Offensive Line
They poured resources into their Defense
I would like to hear more about what you all did on that side of the football, think that's the key to you all advancing this post season.
Mahomes will always find the points needed but can they hold teams to under 20 in the Playoffs?

Yeah, that's the question. The Chiefs are YOUNG on defense. The last time I checked they were starting 5 rookies. But they have some talent. They drafted a ton of secondary help in this last draft. Nick Bolton is a really good LB who is in his second year. George Karlaftis is a rookie at DE who is now starting to kind of "get it,"

But the key to them is pressure like any team. If they get to the QB they have some guys who can cover. They don't get many turnovers though - to me that's the next step.

As an overall team they are kind of all over the place. And yeah, we are definitely spoiled now, and that Super Bowl win erased 50 years of pain for me. But of course we want more, because we know how rare it is to have a QB of this caliber.

Mahomes will be the last one in my lifetime I will get to root for - just want to make it count while we have him AND while I can share it with my kids.

As much as I hate the Chiefs and want them to lose by 50, I just can't see that happening vs the Jags.

Chiefs: 28
Jags: 17

I'm a little concerned about the JAG's weapons and all being healthy.....ETN, Jones Jr., Jones, Kirk, Engram.....it's a handful that I think can exploit KC weknesses on D.....ETN speed out of the backfield a major concern....if JAC takes care of the ball this could be MUCH closer than people think.....turnovers are the key....I believe LAC settled for a couple FG after some of the early turnovers last week and that was huge in allowing JAC to come back....IF KC gets any turnovers, they need to convert them into TD's because I think JAC will move the ball on offense....and as far as I am concerned, KC should never try to field a punt this post season.....just let it hit and give it to Mahomes wherever it ends up....I'd rather have him with the ball having to go 90+ yards or whatever then cringing every time I see one of our return guys try to field a punt....

While I do want a Niners/Chiefs SB rematch, I have to root for the upset. It’d just be such a good story.

Well, maybe not for KC fans. lol

I want no part of Kansas City. If SF gets to the SB I'd rather them play Buffalo or Cincy.
I want it to be a bare knuckle boxing match Vs KC, ideally. Revenge is sweet. And if ya want to be the best, ya gotta beat the best.

But the truth is, I’ll be happy if the Niners make it that far regardless of opponent.

All of these games should be competitive. KC has possibly a more underrated defense than Jax does. Reid off a bye is phenomenal. Doug and Andy both know each so well. Should be tough, but KC is a little too good and probably forces a timely turnover or 2 to hold Jax off.

KC 27
Jax 20

Matchup of the weekend. I expect this to be a one-score win for KC, but I won't be completely shocked if Trev & Doug can pull this off.

Personally, I think this is an easy game to pick. I think Jacksonvile had their Super Bowl last week. Great season for them, and possibly a sign of things to come, but they aren't in KC's league, not by a longshot.

When they played in week 10, KC got up to a 20-0 lead, before taking their foot off the gas, and ended up winning 27-17. I think after what happened with the Chargers KC doesn't make that mistake. I think KC wins by 3+ scores. I'm expecting big play after big play for Mahomes and co.

This is more just a thought than a prediction, but I have this weird feeling that KC has been sort of saving Kadarius Toney for the playoffs. Like he's going to be a much larger part of the offense than he was in the regular season and is going to make that offense so much harder to contain.

I think the Chiefs offense has been saving A LOT for the playoffs, so I agree with you on Toney.

I think Reid once again tried to let Bienenemy run the offense which is why they looked so stagnant at times. You can really tell when Reid starts calling plays. Hopefully he does this weekend and moving forward.

Trevor has really taken a nice step this season......but he is not ready for this....yet.

Chiefs 31
Jaguars - 14

The Chargers to me kind of felt like last years Bengals team, but I think what failed them is bad coaching/Staley and the OC. Maybe I was wrong about them and instead the Jags/Lawrence can be last years Bengals. Start by beating the socks off the Chiefs! Lets go Jags!

Jaguars: 27
Chiefs: 24

Weather for Saturday should not be a factor. About 42 degrees at kickoff with a slight breeze. Perfect football weather.
Weather now a potential factor.

Chance of rain/snow with temps in the low thirties. Not much wind predicted.

I'm sure we can all accept that the better team doesn't always win. Throw in that KC could have a down game, and Reid isn't exactly a clock management guru, and the Jaguars could hang around. Etienne could help keep the ball away from Mahomes, and if it's a one-score game at the end, why not Jacksonville?

I'm not great at predictions, but I think this will be a one-score game with OT a distinct possibility.

Looked at the forecast just now. I'd say there is a decent chance there will be moisture during the game tomorrow. Temps are gonna be around 35, so a mix of rain/snow. I would say we want snow, because if we get that I don't think there will be much accumulation at all. Probably more window dressing than anything.

I'll be back for the 8am forecast tomorrow. ChiefD reporting for FBG Sports Kansas City.

31-16, Chiefs

That’s my prediction, though I could see 31-17 or even 31-20 if the Chiefs lay off the gas after getting a big lead.

Just did a 5 mile run out in the cold weather. About 31 degrees right now with barely a breeze. I would say the men should be quite comfortable playing in these temps. Of course the moisture might play a part, but as of right now it feels good out there.

I could probably throw a 40 yard out in these conditions.

Didn't see much of KC this year. Did they play down to lesser competition this year or just look like they always do?

They were 7-10 ATS this year but that's also because they were double digit favorites a lot. I guess you can call that playing down to their competition. But they still are the Chiefs. The tied for the best record for a reason.
