Just saw that he practiced fully this week and is getting back to full health.

What are your thoughts on him? Is he worth owning?

i don't think he's ready to make much of an impact. he's missed the preseason and training camp opportunities. he has build a rapport with delhomme and the offense. that takes a little bit of time.

that said, if he can stay on the field - a big if - then he doesn't have much in the way of comeptition. jarrett is a possession WR with little upside. muhsin is likely a go-to WR but little beyond that.

hackett just needs to get on the field and put the time in.

I liked him better when his name was James McKnight...remember that guy...all the potential and none of the results. Haven't heard peep one about him here locally and would not be surprised to see Mush hold him off this year and Jarrett to pas him on the chart next year.

Um, Steve Smith? Not to mention the fact that the Panthers are a run-first team.

Muhammad and Hackett might combine to generate decent WR3 numbers. But having both in the mix negates each's value.

It's pretty crowded at the wideout position in Carolina.

For fantasy purposes: Smith>Muhammad>Hackett=Jarrett

no one is questioning smith's status as the #1. hackett wasn't signed to be the #1. i'm not suggesting anything beyond the #2 role. i think the panthers will run the ball a lot but a lot of that is out of concern for delhomme's health. some of that is based on their inability to run consistently last year (that's why they drafted stewart after all). if jake stays healthy and performs effectively, then there is no reason to believe they can't utilize a balanced attack. i believe hackett's better than jarrett and muhsin. dude really didn't help himself by missing all this time.

He's pretty much hands down the biggest #### in the game today. How many other guys can come off the stationary bike, get on the field and instantly hurt a different body part...toe no less.

Other than that he has skills. Play him while you can, hope for a TD, trade him for a future 1st Rd. pick.

I%ve owned him before, has won me games, and have seen him play live (I live near SEA).

He has an excellent skill set, but seems to be made out of glass... to me, sort of a "high risk, med/high reward" guy

Anybody that has owned him in the past is going to have a hard time feeling comfortable starting him.

His best opportunity is in the first two weeks, but with his lingering injury, you would think Jake would be more inclined to look for Mushin.

No one questions his talent, but he does seem like one of those guys that either a) has a low threshold for pain, or b) can't stay healthy. Different kind of WR but Stallworth is the same way.

The Panthers are not going to run the ball a lot out of concern for Delhomme's health. They are going to run the ball a lot, because they love to pound it, and they finally have a good line this year, and two good RB's that vary in their abilities. Fox has said over and over again, that they are very confident that Delhomme is completely recovered from his TJ surgery. I think Jake will have a good year. He will make some crazy throws now and then because he is a gunslinger, but that's Jake being Jake. Hackett will be an asset to the Panthers passing game if he can stay healthy. He is a good WR.

Hackett was a beast for me during a 3 game span last year. Hands down won me two of the weeks.

Health is his only issue. He has the ability to be a very strong WR2 on any fantasy team if he doesnt get hurt. Muhsin is not nearly as good as hackett.

that being said, I just picked him up to play my flex spot this week (with Marshall out, you gotta fill holes).

For anyone interested, i am playing him over Jonathan Stewart, Ray Rice, Chris Johnson and Vincent Jackson. PPR League.
