DJax Not Expected To Play In Week 15 (1 Viewer)

Branch obviously gets a bump up but given the nature of the injury D.J. Hackett's value is on the rise as well in my opinion. From RotoWorld:

Darrell Jackson is unlikely to play Thursday because of a turf toe injury.

Ouch. Usually turf toe injuries linger a few weeks, so one of the most consistent fantasy wideouts in the league may miss more than a week. Bobby Engram isn't healthy, so either D.J. Hackett or Nate Burleson will start against San Francisco. We're not sure it matters who: Both will play on most downs and are now reasonable fantasy pickups.

Hackett has looked good lately. Are we sure Burleson is the pickup? Both are available in my league and I've got DJax. (and K.Jones, ChTaylor, Portis)

Nothing like Dominating regular season and then losing in the playoffs due to injuries.

Yeah I'm crying....bring on the t-shirt thingamabobber.

:wall: Portis :wall: KJones :wall: Colston :wall: DJax.Gore/PManning/Crumpler owners beware!!! All that's left of my once-dominant team.I know...no one cares.....off to the waiver wire.....

Thank goodness I have Furrey. However, the one week I have to start him will probably be the first week he doesn't score 10 fantasy points.

No bump for Branch? Wouldn't he be the guy?
I won't bump him up. I mean bump him up from his usual 35 yards? I kept him on my roster all year cause of all his good matchups, but besides a couple weeks this year he has been a huge disappointment. My top 2 are Holt and Plex, so it's not like I could bump him above those 2.

A lot of that is due to the fact he's the second-best WR on the team. Not to mention that even though Wallace played all right he isn't in the same class as Hasselbeck. I think Branch definitely gets a major bump up this week. The Seahawks have a great matchup at home against the Niners and I think Branch is looking real good. The question here is who gets the bump between Hackett and Burleson? I'm leaning toward Hackett even though Burleson will start. I think Hackett is proving to be the superior WR.

What's the source on Burleson starting? I don't doubt it, I'm just wondering. Wouldn't surprise me, because I know they like Hackett in the slot. But when D-Jax was hurt last year, they moved Engram out of the slot and into the starting role, so I just assumed they would do that with Hackett here since he's been much better than Burleson so far this year.

That's not correct. Engram was already starting. It was Jurevicius who moved into the starting lineup when DJax was injured. When all three were healthy, Jurevicius was the third WR but Engram would move to the slot in three-receiver sets.I think the point you mention earlier about Hackett in the slot is the answer. Like Engram, the Seahawks seem to like Hackett more as a slot receiver. And given how often Seattle goes to multiple-receiver sets, even if Hackett isn't technically a starter he's still going to get on the field a lot.

You're right. I was thinking back farther when they still had K-Rob. When D-Jax missed a few games back when he had that seizure, Engram moved out of the slot and filled in for him.
