DNC Leaks...official thread (1 Viewer)

I don't understand the question.  30 states were still to vote.  Bernie was drawing tons of new voters into the process.  The DNC should have been happy seeing the big turnouts and let the best person win.  That's what a democracy is.
The DNC wanted the Democrat candidate best able to win the general election to head it's ticket.  That is where the calculus begins and ends for the party.  Tipping the scale in Bernie's favor by allowing the outsider to contest on it's behalf fails the lifelong democrats.

Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Rance Preibus, Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush, John Kasich...these fellas can tell you what an incursion looks and feels like.

Being a part of a third party in the current US political atmosphere is a noble pursuit but it has to come with the understanding that the odds are long and the fight will be difficult and bruising.

Egg on their face now, huh?

You'd have to think given Hillary's history that they would have concerns about her being a viable candidate. They have known for over a year about #servergate, the Clinton Foundation, and her missteps in foreign policy as SoS. Not to mention all of the VRWC stuff from the 90's.

The most logical explanation is that the DNC did not want the candidate best able to win the election, they wanted the candidate that had them on puppet strings.

Sure, Bernie is a (democratic) socialist and looks like Doc Brown. But he has inspired people in a positive way like nobody else in 35 years besides Obama, and maybe Trump. If Trump could fight off the GOPe it is possible that Bernie could have fought off the eDems with an even playing field. And Bernie always polled ahead of Trump in head to head, usually by double digits.

Hillary has spent more money than any candidate in primary history, competed against a (democratic) socialist for the nomination, and is now facing the most hated man in American history, literally Adolf "David Duke" Hitler, who has spent very little money and trolls her on Twitter.

And she is essentially tied.

The DNC was never interested in a fair primary, or even selecting the best candidate. They have had their orders since December 2008.

She's still an extraordinarily viable candidate, and more likely to win a general election than a vettable Sanders, IMO. I despise her, but that seems to be the case. Untouchable, almost, to her supporters. Also untouchable to the DNC, the DOJ, and the FBI.

Teflon Hillary, with cracks, but still nothing sticks.

But Chauncey's premise is not a bad one.

Kim Dotcom despises the US for storming his house in New Zealand on his birthday in 2012, seizing all of his assets, 40+ million, and squeezing him in a questionable DMCA legal matter that is still ongoing.

Maybe he is all bluster, or maybe he knows something. He has been connected with the dark side of the internet and internet security for a decade.

10/26 is HRC's birthday btw.

He said that Assange had something more than a year ago and that was way before the DNC hack.

One permutation to consider is that a foreign intelligence service could create fake emails with all kinds of imaginable controversies baked in and release those and we would have no idea if they were real or not.... because Hillary destroyed everything even the original electronic data behind what she produced. Either way if someone wanted to mess with us they could.

IMO the start of Hillary's campaign can be traced to 2011 when Schultz, who was a Clinton surrogate and who has always acted as her proxy, became DNC chair. And I almost wish Bernie had stayed out because Hillary running against Chafee, O'Malley and Webb would have been ridiculous. At any rate I'm sure they never thought Bernie would get above 5%.i think the most important aspect to Hillary's primary victory was her work and DWS's keeping other candidates - like Kaine, Booker, Biden - out.

Gotta love the HRC haters in this thread. They're like kids on Christmas Eve who asked Santa Claus for their own helicopter or pony or other impossible gift and they just KNOW they're going to get it on Christmas morning.

It's more like Halloween & we all just got a huge bag full of candy.  Christmas won't be until the real incriminating emails are released.  There is still more to come!

Yep there it is. The point about the metadata is important.
This sounds like damage control to me.  In the past few days we have been provided evidence of media cooperation with the Democratic party.  Why should we believe this isn't bs?  This is an awfully convenient narrative to make the Democrats seem like victims, and paint Donald Trump & Russia as the bad guys.

The reporting has really piled up and for me before the allegations of bigotry, and temperament, and policy nuttery, this has always been the biggest concern with Trump for me. I think it's moved to the top of the list for more people.
i think this is definitely concerning, of course flipping over to the Clinton Foundation there are several examples of follow the money intrigue.  Basically we have  a plague on both houses, Mercutio would be proud.

Why can't they both be true? Yes the DNC was acting improperly and narrowing the field and thumbing the scales to ensure a Hillary victory. Heck I'm not even sure you need direct evidence to show they were coordinating. And it's also true that Russia's mucking with our election process.

Maybe it was China trying to make it look like Russia.  All they would have to do is hack in Russian time zones, and use Russian language filters, and take off Russian holidays.

So 60 minutes asked Clinton about the leaks, but didn't air it.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/article/2003476/
Pelley began by reading some of the emails among DNC staff members suggesting ways to undermine Sanders's campaign. "Did you know anything about any of that?" he asked.

"No, I didn't know anything about it, and I haven't read any of those," Clinton responded.

Pelley kept pressing. "You have people in the Democratic National Committee who are supposed to be, if you will, agnostic about who the nominee is going to be, and they seem to have their thumb on the scale for you. They seem to be working against Bernie Sanders, their fellow Democrat."

"Again, I don't know anything, I don't know anything about, uh, about these emails. I haven't followed it," Clinton responded.

"In your view, any effort in the DNC to favor one candidate or another would have been improper?" Pelley asked.

"Again, I don't have any information about this, and so I can't answer specifically," Clinton said.

Well, lets see if any of the future leaks provide details on how Russia cornered the uranium market....that would be interesting stuff...

These "researchers" are hired by the DNC. Other experts say no evidence: http://time.com/4372161/democratic-national-committee-hackers/ …
Aside from the fact that article is no over a month old, where does that article say there is no evidence?

It does say this:

Then, on Thursday, a flurry of articles in the tech media threw a curve ball: Several cyber security experts suggested that perhaps Guccifer 2.0 was only claiming to be acting independently, in an elaborate effort to cast doubt on CrowdStrike’s assertion that the Russians had been behind the breach.
That links to this:

‘Guccifer 2.0’ Is Likely a Russian Government Attempt To Cover Up Their Own Hack

And

That’s not all though. The leaked documents contain metadata indicating they’ve been opened and processes on multiple virtual machines, as the independent cybersecurity researcher known as Pwn All The Things pointed out on Twitter on Wednesday. Some of these machines had different configurations, including one with the Cyrillic language setting and the username of “Iron Felix,” referencing Felix Dzerzhinsky, the first head of the Soviet intelligence services.
- Pwn is actually a handle I follow. This is one of his points pulled from another tech site:

Snip of analysis of the Trump oppo research dump.

This has been independently verified since June and your own link shows the Russian connection.

The hackers were typing in Russian, it was definitely them!  As if nobody else in the world speaks Russian.  Maybe it was North Korea or China trying to pick a fight between 2 world super powers.

DWS just got booed off the stage in Florida delegate breakfast. It was a sight to behold.

And she's still scheduled to speak at the convention tonight?

Yeah at least you're putting the conversation in the right place, ie that it is likey a foreign intelligence service.

However:

  • They use uses many virtual machines with Russian IPs
  • Speak and type Russian;
  • The MS username is Dzerzhinsky, the founder of USSR secret police
  • and they like to launder documents via Wikileaks.
  • Add in Snowden's connection to FSB, Russia and wikileaks.
If you want to postulate someone is going through all this trouble to screw with Russia/US relations, ok, I guess it's possible but that's also a serious danger.

Well, the Clinton Russian narrative fits in with why they brought DWS back into the fold - can't be seen caving to Russian influence...

And thank goodness for Putin and the Russians.

Russia is our ally if they are exposing the corrupt DNC.

This DNC fiasco is really the worst thing I've seen in our political system since I'm alive...downright saddening.  You just can't undermine our Democratic process like that.
If this is true Russia is treating us like the CIA used to mess with elections in banana republics.

Has David Duke blamed the Jews yet?

Are you serious? You are not being sarcastic, right? You hate Hillary Clinton that much that you would take the word of a borderline enemy country?
