Do people always overreact this badly after 1 week? (1 Viewer)

In the span of 24 hours guys have suddenly turned into "Studs" or "Busts" and people are scrambling to grab this year's overlooked "Breakout Star" from the waiver wire. Is FF really this irrational? Or is this more of a week 1 phenomenon and people will start settling down? What did I get myself into lol.

On a side note, FF has completely bastardized the way I watch football. I catch myself cheering for "my guys" while cheering against their teammates. I was going crazy for Romo when he threw a long TD, but would root against throwing to TO because someone in my league has him on their roster. WTF is wrong with me.
Of course. Gotta love it.You will graduate to the Big Leagues when some of the following apply:

1. You stand next to the TV waving your arms during an opponent's FG and he misses it.

2. On a big pass play, you come unglued from the couch and get up and run with your player.

3. You dream about ridiculous plays such as your QB throws a TD pass to the owner of your opponent that week.

4. You tell someone in your league to 'take a look at my team' after a big win. He's not going to look.

5. You threaten players with being cut off your team after a big loss and they perform the next week.

There's more but that's what you got coming.

Yes.

But, with a caveat.

Some of those bust week one players will be busts all year long. Some won't.

Once week one happens everything about your perfect draft goes out the window and reality starts to set in. I've held too long on some and let some go too early.
Care to give some examples?

On how you watch football, yes, it completely bastardizes football games. Join more than three leaghues and it really won;t matter WHAT game you are watching. You probably have some interest in it. That said, never lose your fan-dome. Not sure who your team is, but mine is the Miami Dolphins. With their horrendous last couple of years, I have found it less necessary to keep the NFL Package this year, but you can count on me watching every minute of a Dolphins game if it is on the air. That said, last year I had the Package and watched it for the best football games, not for my players. I can track my players online. So, you can re-develop a "correct" interest in the game if you can keep the two things separate.
That's a great answer. I liked it better when I heard it the first time. ;) Just giving you crap Marc.

You'll actually graduate to the Big Leagues when you find yourself watching the last 7 minutes of a meaningless 31-10 blowout because you need the losing team's kicker to have at least 2 points, but no more than 4 in order to win two of your games.Nothing like cheering for that losing team to drive close enough to kick a FG but to be stopped from getting a TD - and then getting pissed when they go for it on fourth rather than kick the FG.

Now THAT is a bastardization of watching football.

No. It's usually much, much worse.
