Do you keep in touch with your immediate family? (1 Viewer)

I feel like everyone has a self-righteous uncle, grandparent, cousin, or parent on Facebook, but it goes beyond just that platform. Where does your family share photos, make announcements and keep everyone in the loop now a days? Do you find it a priority keeping in touch with family member you don't like?

we Skype regularly. my mom is on Facebook and has tapped into the spirit of the13 year old girl within her. i have to practically beg her to skype with me and my son though. i talk to my older brother every few months via FB. my dad calls every other week and schedules skype sessions. i share pictures of my life with them all on FB.

My family is FB crazy. It's about the only way they communicate. I'm rarely on FB, which is both good and bad. My extended family does a lot of stuff together, almost too much. I'm a single guy, but only have about 1 of 6 weekends free because of all the family stuff. I love them, but need some free time also. Some of them understand that, some of them don't. Blah.

My mom is very computer literate but surprisingly never joined facebook. We talk on the phone or video chat every other week or so.

I haven't spoken to my brother in around 5 years.

That's the only family I have on my side.

I hadn't joined Facebook until late when my sisters kept pressuring me to get an account "to keep in touch". One of my sisters and a female cousin are constantly posting pictures there and don't understand why I never do.

I try to call my mom once a week. Occasionally text a few cousins that are cool and that I like to see when schedules allow.

My inlaws are crazy loud Philly people, and there are literally millions of them. I don't know most of their names. But aside from a couple crappy ones, I look forward to hanging out with them. We've got a bunch coming to visit this weekend for Eagles @ Falcons Monday night.

My family? A lot of contact on a regular basis.

Wife's family? Almost zero. They're pretty terrible.
So the rest of us would think they are pretty awesome? :excited:

eerily identical.

except I talk to my brother... just very rarely.

Wow, I know this is a small sample size, but I guess I am the outlier.

Talk to my folks 2 -3 times a week, and my sister at least every other week. My wife talks to her parents and siblings at least as often as that

Talk to my Mom weekly, see her at least once a month. Dad talk to monthly and almost never see - he love 8 hours away. I had a huge fallout with my sister so virtually zero contact.

My wife talks to her Mom and Sister daily but they are cool so it's not an issue. We live .3 miles away from SIL so we see her often. MIL is just a couple miles away so probably 2-3 times a month.

Extended family mostly lives within driving distance but only see them at holidays and not frequent at all. No complaints really about any of it.

ETA - I would like to see my Dad more but it is what it is - he moved away years ago and doesn't make an effort to visit us so I guess he's ok with it too.

I'm bad about keeping in touch via phone, but my immediate family keeps in touch via group text. Since my dad learned how to text, it's been great. They are all pretty active on FB, but I'm not, and prefer the group text. Most of my thoughts don't seem appropriate for a widespread non-private forum like FB. Only forums with randoms (where I've blown my anonymity) and texting.

Theres this thing called a telephone.

We talk regularly

Not nearly as much as I should. About a year ago I got on Facebook and that has helped a bit....but, I have been away so long it is not so easy for me. I am not saying we ever hated each other, just never kept in close touch.

I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters. I see or talk to each of them at least once a week.

My side parents - we call once a week, roughly. Sister maybe a text or few once s month. We do follow each other on Facebook.

In laws - wife talks to them a couple times each day, we group text at least a handful of times a day. We're all close.
