Do you prefer to know your draft long before the draft? (1 Viewer)

I have been in leagues where I know my draft slot days or even weeks before the draft. In other leagues, my draft slot was revealed 15 minutes or so before the draft. Which do you prefer?

The issues primarily involve preparation. If you know your draft slot days in advance, everyone else knows their slot too. If you feel extremely well prepared, do you have an advantage in leagues where the draft slot isn't available until shortly before the draft?

On one hand I would like to know my draft position at least a week before the draft. It's much more convenient. In the end, however, I think it's advantageous to pick the order right before the draft if you're really well prepared -- it should give you an advantage over at least a couple owners in the typical league.

I've also seen owners go on tilt when the order is picked at draft time, and they get what they deem a crappy pick. You know the scenario: owner gets the last pick, hates it and complains, basically accepts defeat before the draft even starts, and goes on to have a horrendous draft.

All of my leagues are keeper leagues with the draft order determined by the previous season's finish. So I usually know my draft spot by the end of December for the following year, and I love it. It gives me the whole year to plan specifically for the draft.

The best thing of knowing your draft spot in advance is: The first 4 rounds go a LOT quicker. Can save over an hour

in total time. This can be used for MORE SUDS which induces MORE Trash TALK.... :football:

I love knowing my draft slot early so I can mock draft. This eliminates draft night srambles for the first 4-5 rounds as I have a good idea who I'll be picking from. From this group I 've already rank them.

The early revealing of draft slots also helps with draft day trades. Teams have more time to talk to other owners, get a feel for who they like/dislike and work out trades.

 Glad I'm not the only one. Now that I know my slot, it's made a huge difference in some mocks I've been doing.
