I try to help my fellow competitors all that I can, because I want the league to beas competitive as possible. I was told about this site by a fellow member who is in my league and we continue to try to get the rest of the league to stay informed. I love to win, and 2 out of the last 4 years I have won, but I want to beat the best players available. It is purely for self gratification. :pickle:

I don't mind telling people if there is going to be total transparency but it puts you at a competitive disadvantage if they know who you are on this board but they remain lurkers. They can read your posts on players but you know nothing about theirs.

I agree w/ Chaka, I have no problem telling everyone about it, but if they want to know who I am, then I want to know who they are.

I will probably tell my brother ----------- after the draft.

For now I will send him to another site or two.

Hell no!

Although the most competitive league I'm in is comprised of FBG Message Board Panther fans. This league helps me gauge how good I really am. But I'm in my eigth year in my hometown league and there's no way I'd tell any of those guys about it. The only time I've let the cat out of the bag in this league was when there was a three way broohaha about the last playoff spot one year and I referred our commish to the "commisioner's court" dealio here on the site to help resolve it (and get myself into the playoffs, didn't make it in).

I'll give the other guys in my league a link to any other fantasy site.... but know way do I give this one away... I know a couple of them know about it... but, its our ancient chinese secret.... we dont tell anyone else about this one.

I told them all. Multiple times...

If you think about it, knowing your fellow drafters is critical to drafting a stud team. So the way I see it, the more owners in the league which use footballguys draft dominator and/or cheatsheets, the better my team will be on draft day, since I'll have a better clue as to when they will be picking particular players.

You have to use this site as a tool. You can't expect it to be the end all and be all in projections and rankings. If you don't make your own decisions and tweak the projections based off of your own league's tendancies and your own experiences, then all you are doing on draft day is creating a FBG team.

But if you take all FBG has to offer (or atleast as much as one can, since there is an extreme amount of info available!) and add your own experiences and tweaks to it, then you'll have one personalized kick butt team which will feel like your own.

No freakin' way!!

I have no problem with them using the draft info, but I don't want someone stalking me and finding out which players I value. That just hurts in trades, etc.

In two of my three leagues, there are several Huddle guys. In one of my leagues, I'm the only non-huddler. Never have been to the boards or info over there. Don't wanna pay for two FF sites and FBG has served me well the past several years.

I tell everyone, I figure the more $$$$ Joe & crew takes in, the more they will invest in the site and add more features, etc.

Most of your leaguemates already know people.Google is pretty easy to use nowadays.
I'm actually amazed that people still buy magazines. My boss is in my league and he always brings magazines - I'd like to clue him in, but I don't want him to know how much time I spend here during the day. :bag:

I still buy the magazines. There's still alot of good stuff there too, just don't use those cheat sheets they came up with in May!

Why is your avatar a money sign then...

Tell them? The commish and I are thinking about making the Draft Dominator mandatory software for everyone in our leagues next year.

I do have to say though, if everyone in my leagues became more active over here, I'd probably slow down my activity a bit until after the drafts. As it stands, the commish is the only one who lurks here, so I make every post knowing that he's going to read it, and try not to give away any of my big secrets (I like to diversify my rosters anyway, so I usually talk a lot about players that I already have in other leagues and am not targetting anymore). I get along with him really well, though, and we frequently toss around thoughts and ideas about players over the phone, anyway, so it's not like I mind handing out a trade secret or two over here from time to time.

How many times when you were a guppy, did the Superbowl Champ of your league tell you his secrets and tools of having a good season? I bet never!

Having access to the DD is because I did my research! Others go to the draft with the results of their "research".

I don't feel bad when it gives me an advantage. I do, however, feel badly that I keep paying customers from fbg.com.

However, all of this can be rectified, if only the FBGs would offer their loyal subscribers a commission for every new signup they got as a result of our referral.

Poker sites use this perfectly, so could FBGs.

Just my humble $0.02

Not a chance - at least in $$ leagues. It's every man for himself - though I doubt this site is hard to find w/ a little searching.

And I don't need to. We've got Cecil Lammey blabbing all over the airwaves here in Denver, giving advise and pimpin' FBG. :wall: (JK Cecil - I'm sure you're keeping the boss happy and earning your paychecks)

Side note - amazing how clueless even the sports talk radio hosts really are (esp. Mike Evans and forget about Irv and Joe), unless they're just serving up softballs for Lammey to knock out of the park. (i.e. WHAT??? 11 rbs in the first round?, why isn't everyone targeting qbs in round 1/2, what does ADP mean?) - at least he's feeding the guppies, but sooner or later they'll grow into sharks.

Thankfully most of my leaguemates are in CA or Chicago and can't get KFAN ;) , but I'm not rushing out to send them the online broadcast link (free way to listen to Rome's Jungle show @ 10am MST - FYI).
