Do you tip out your commish if you win the superbowl? (1 Viewer)

I have gotten tips and tried to decline but they leave it with me and say it covers the food for the draft. I appreciate that since I spend about $200 on food and drinks for draft

One guy who has never won used to give me 20 for the same reason but i have been able to not take it the past few years

I don't expect anything and don't feel like i deserve anything but it's up to whoever wins

This year it might be me so I'll let you know if i tip myself

I've been running leagues for years and only had one guy drop me a bone. What is the norm around here?EDIT - Let me state that I don't expect anything, but do offer when I win.
I don't see the need to, unless the commish doesn't have a team in the league and is basically working for free. I also don't see the need to give the commish a discount or a free slot to play either. Then again if my commish called me up to tell me that AP wasn't playing and to put Knox in; I might feel compelled to give him something.

If you go to Vegas, would you tip the dealer? If so, why? All they do is hand out cards. It's easy. In roulette they just spin a ball around a wheel. And they get paid by the casino! Would you tip them?I don't think commissioners expect a tip and don't need one, but the guys who think it's absurd remind me of the folks who ignore the dealer at blackjack even when they win.
I always tip the dealer, especially when I'm winning......thought most did that.

I don't play cards or the roulette wheel. Also, I've been the commissioner in several leagues and NEVER expected the champion to share any of their prize money.
I thought "I don't think commissioners expect a tip" covered that position, so I agree with you there. But those who say "f no" like it's an absurd idea are the same cheapskates who don't tip the dealer if they did play. Even if they don't expect it, it's good to offer. They perform a service for you so if you've got extra cash, offering a little something is appropriate though not necessary. The issue is "do you tip" not "as commish, do you expect a tip?" I doubt most commissioners expect a tip. The issue is whether the other owners have the class to offer one every so often if they win some money. Even if it's turned down.

bam

If I knew the commish and he lived in the same city I'd take him out to dinner or buy him a beer regardless if I won or not. Being the commish sucks. But telling him to keep a cut of my 1st place winnings? Nah.
I just had a dude who has been in leagues I commish four or five years "buy me a sixpack" by giving me $10 out of his winnings. I sure don't expect it, but will accept it like he lived in town. He is in Boston and I am in Texas, so it is not like he can just meet at the bar and buy me a couple (although I am scheduled to be in Maine this summer that still is not just around the corner). Honestly, in a terrible year, I probably spend 5 hours more (dynasty) than I would as player throught the entire year, doing commish stuff with the worst being collecting fees and finding new members.

I'll buy the commish a 6 pack or give him a $20.
same here, thats what I have always done. That said if you win its close or over a grand in most of my leagues, so $20 is not much. If I didnt actually "know" the commish (like being friends with him) I probably wouldnt tip. A couple of my leagues there are alot of whiners and I wouldnt want to be the commish if you paid my league fee.

a couple of my leagies we have awards night at a bar where money gets passed out, most of the time the winner spends $300+ on booze for the league. And well if he doesnt, he will get reminded of his cheapness over and over for years.
