Do you trade with your weekly opponent? (1 Viewer)

It seems that quite often the best team to target is my weekly opponent. I usually avoid trading players to my opponent to go for the win. I feel sometimes that prevents me from improving my team overall.

What do others do when confronted with the win now or win later issue?

I was just looking at this before I came to the shark pool. I was looking at buying MJD low, but being that he's on a bye (along with 5 of his other players), I don't want to trade my opponent anyone that could help his team. Right now, my team looks pretty good, so anyone I give him could get him some points this week. I'm looking for the win this week, maybe I'll talk to him next week.

I did it last year, giving up Chester Taylor for Rudi. That was the week CT had his 95 yard TD against my FF team AND my NFL team. Both my teams lost, but Rudi in a keeper league has been hands down the better of the deal. I lost that week of the season but beat him again in the playoffs and won the league so... If it makes your team better, pull the trigger. JMO

I do. Sometimes it comes back to bite me that week.

But it doesnt matter, Im always looking towards the playoffs. Always.

Focusing on being the best come playoff time, it just pays off again and again and again.

:goodposting: If your opponent sees the trade as helping him beat you this week, he's more likely to give a trade that helps you longterm.

 My only concern when making a trade is whether or not it's a long term (season long in my redraft or overall in my dynasty) improvement for my team.
