Voted yes, not worried about other folks trying stuff on before I bought it. More worried about what the .13/day sweatshop laboring kids might have.
Probably highly contagious ball cancer. Wash your new clothes people.

You people should probably stop shopping at Freds and Old Navy for your wardrobes

Anything that looks like it's going to bleed dye like crazy, I'll wash it. I've had it get on my skin in some cases. Or if it has those new clothes creases which an iron can't take out.

So, depends.

My prostate isn't working very well any more. I went to the toilet right before I tried on a pair of pants at the store today and accidentally dribbled in them. I know it's not going to kill anybody to come into contact with my pee, but I just thought you guys should know. I'll sleep better now that that's off my chest.

Who tries on clothes? I know my size and buy my clothes online. The shirts come in plastic bags- maybe they have been tried on but I can not tell. Has anyone ever tried on a pair of socks before purchasing?

I would absolutely try on socks before buying if possible.

Thought the same thing. Can't think of the last time I bought clothing in a B&M store.

I don't care if clothing is bagged or not, I always wash everything first. Not because of cooties, but it gets any smell, lint, loose threads, stiffness out of the garment. Lol at some of the comments in here, looks like we might have found another Apple/Microsoft topic.

I do. A prime example is Levi's jeans, I try on ever pair before I buy them. I don't know if their production tolerances are complete crap or the material they use doesn't shrink uniformly, but the fit of their jeans is all over the board.

We wash all new clothes in our household, however I never used to. My husband is allergic to laundry detergent, and it became habit for me to wash all new clothes.
