Does anyone not feel confident that Miles Sanders will get a large workload? (1 Viewer)

I've noticed that Sanders has been ranked quite high by nearly all "experts" this week, but is anyone else concerned that he might not get enough touches? When one considers how Phily has been going with the hot hand, his injuries (DNP this week) and a QB that runs a lot, isn't Sanders a risky play here?

I think Sanders is always a risky play given the Hurts factor and how often they use RBBC. The only hope is that his hammy is ok, he starts out hot, and they run the ball a ton against the decimated Giants (with Fromm at QB). Maybe, just maybe, he finds the end zone finally, but it probably would have to come  from well beyond the goal line.

Consider me concerned to say the least. Add to that the head coach is out as well; which may or may not change the game plan. I swiped Justin Jackson up off waivers, and need to decide between the 2. Sanders has such a great matchup, but he didn’t even practice in a limited capacity all week, and that’s never been a good thing. I’m interested to hear other’s thoughts.

Sirianni was back yesterday:

But I do think that Sanders may be on a limited load this weekend. Especially if that Quad flares up. Jackson is a much better play given Ekeler is out.

I also would play Jackson over Sanders in a heartbeat.
You've convinced me. The Eagles have been completely unpredictable in who gets the carries, plus Sanders has is ALWAYS hurt and DNP all week...I agree that Jackson is likely the better (at least safer) play of the two.

Why did Hurts struggle in the earlier game vs the Giants with 3 INTS and only 7 points? They've been playing lights out since the Minshew game.

Sanders has been given plenty of carries last 2 games he was out there. The goaline lack of carries is known going in so factor that. But if you're good with him getting 17-20 carries plus 2-5 catches and can live with whatever yardage that equals, then go for it. If that sounds scary, find another option.

Everyone has clunkers now and then. There was really no reason they should have lost that game. I'd expect them to crush the Giants today in some payback.

Agreed. And unless Jake Fromm has some magic in his hat, I don’t see the Giants’ offense staying on the field much.

Agreed if he were guaranteed those 17-20 touches, but I'm very concerned with the fact that he didn't practice all week, has a quad injury and plays for a team that is pretty unpredictable in how they hand out carries...He's a very tough call this week.

I am never confident when it comes to Sanders this year but I will be starting him in my flex and hoping for the best.

Let's be clear, these sites stink and you're dealing with staff wanting to celebrate Xmas as much as you, I'm laying into the FREE sites, NOT FBG, this place does noble work

-Zeke should hardly be in the Top 10-15 this week, saw Aaron Jones in a time share get Top 10 all week almost all sites, garbage mostly. Not a total hole on your roster but far from Top 10. I've seen Sanders put around Top 10 if he gets plenty of carries he should rack up 100-120 total yds but he isn't likely to hit pay dirt and that's the real problem, he has to rack up all his yds between the 20s and that makes him dangerous to start.

I'm interested in other opinions as well but int he end no one will be able to totally solve this riddle prior to kick off.

LUCK LUCK LUCK

I agree with everything you said. If healthy (a big if) he is likely to have a good day, but not score. My bigger issue is that he didn't practice all week and was banged up at the end of the game last week. Talent isn't the question. His situation this week is.

Do you like Sanders or Justin Jackson from LAC today? DFS I'm asking mostly

Sanders doesn’t have an injury designation so he should be good to go….same situation as last week…maybe a bit more pessimism last week since all the backs were healthy for the 1st time and Sanders role and touch count was rightly questioned.  He had the lion share of the carries and then gave way later in the game to grind out the clock.

The million $ question to me is if he’ll score a TD…he’s beyond due and I’m hoping he can take one of his runs to the house.

And Sanders questionable to return with a hand injury. I think only his ear lobes haven’t been hurt this year and last.

He’s got talent but means nothing if you’re not available - and coaches lose faith when that happens with regularity.

Can’t wait to kick this guy off my keeper roster and to the curb in the off-season.

He is made of glass. Would love know exactly what this “hand” injury is that keeps him out of the game. Maybe he can’t grip the football…..who knows.

All I know is he is a bust on my dynasty team. He is always hurt. So disappointing.

When he has been on the field, has he even really produced?
He has put up good yardage numbers in games where he's healthy and the running game is working. Especially early on when only he and Gainwell were getting snaps. But not only does he have a problem staying healthy and a QB who vultures rushing TDs, the coaching staff seems to think Howard and Scott, and maybe even Gainwell, are better goal-line runners.

Miles Sanders has a broken hand. Good for all you that doubted his "toughness."

That was such a laugh when I read it, even more so now.

I didn’t get the sense that anyone questioned his toughness, just that he often gets hurt. The facts do speak to that.

Being available is a skill. If you have a hurt hand and you cant play, just retire.

These two don't sound like simple declarations of him being hurt.

Ah - fair enough. Yeah, I tend to never question any RB’s toughness. It’s a brutal position to constantly get tackled by behemoths and injuries IMO often come down to bad luck (or perhaps flexibility) more than anything.

Agreed. And pointing out his ability to stay on the field is certainly legitimate. To subtly doubt the severity of the injury or to say he should hang them up is another thing entirely.

You have two hands. Carry the ball with the other hand. The sympathy people have for millionaires is comedy.
1. Today’s update suggested there may be more wrong with his hand than just a broken bone.

2. Running backs also have to catch the ball in modern NFL offenses. Harder to do that with only one hand.
