Its seems simple enough on the surface. You would think that if the weather cooperates, then Brady would turn the sky black with footballs, and he'd throw for 5 against the 'team' that lit a fire under their own and is atleast partly repsonsible for driving them to perfection to this point. The Pats already have a built in excuse to go completely for the jugular, to exact 'revenge', to 'run it up' until the scoreboard shorts out. Five TDs wouldnt seem to be a problem for Brady at home. With the crowd. With history waiting to be made in classic, cold, football-perfect weather where guys' breath will freeze on exhale and cold, sweaty heads will breathe steam. It could be perfect, record-breaking day in football history. Thats IF the weather cooperates, and thats what one would think. It may very well happen with or without ideal conditions. But Im seeing this game differently. I see this game at this point one where New England has a chance to regain a little bit of goodwill. As corny as that sounds, I think just playing a solid, professional, well-executed and superior game without Brady breaking any records or the Pats running it up is the best case scenario for this organization. Running the ball well, playing solid D, winning in convincing fashion something like 27-3. Nothing mind-boggling, but essentially dominant. And with Brady only throwing 1 or 2 TDs. Its becoming almost fascinating to me week to week with these guys. The table is set here for a blowout. Its all obvious, and we all see that. Brady throwing for 5 scores against the rival Jets just seems all too easy to predict. But Bill Belichick is always a step ahead of what anyone else is ever thinking, and he and Brady just seem to surprise everyone on a different level seemingly everytime they take the field. I just expect this game is going to be a different New England than we've grown used to seeing the past several weeks. Tomorrow, I think they'll play OLD-FASHIONED football again. Regardless of the weather.
