Does Brady break the TD record this week? (1 Viewer)

Jack Burton

He averages 3.5 tds/game so far and sits at 45.

Not that he needs to be any extra motivation to hammer the Jets, but wouldn't that be the coup de gras for Brady.

I'd go with the trend this year:

Records for Miami and New England.

Brady breaks the TD record against Miami next week.

Why????
Spygate.Answer to the question, there is absolutely no way Brady does not throw at least 5 TD's this week. He may have it by halftime. The weather is inconsequential. It is an absolute certainty that Brady breaks the record this week...at home....against the Jets.....no other outcome is possible.

Shouldn't he already have like 70 TD's if it was that easy to throw for 5? How can the weather be inconsequential? IF it is snowing and 30mph winds 50 yard bombs to Moss are off target and difficult all the talk is Pats playing for something and the Jets have nothing to play for. Actually i think the Jets have a hell of alot more to play for. PRIDE. They are seeing the biggest spread in years and being told that the PAts are going to score 60 againts them! I see no chance for the Jets, but I do expect their best effort all year. i also expect to see some vicous hits on every Pats player that they get a chance to hit. probably some late, but when you have nothing to lose those things happen.

Its seems simple enough on the surface. You would think that if the weather cooperates, then Brady would turn the sky black with footballs, and he'd throw for 5 against the 'team' that lit a fire under their own and is atleast partly repsonsible for driving them to perfection to this point. The Pats already have a built in excuse to go completely for the jugular, to exact 'revenge', to 'run it up' until the scoreboard shorts out. Five TDs wouldnt seem to be a problem for Brady at home. With the crowd. With history waiting to be made in classic, cold, football-perfect weather where guys' breath will freeze on exhale and cold, sweaty heads will breathe steam. It could be perfect, record-breaking day in football history. Thats IF the weather cooperates, and thats what one would think. It may very well happen with or without ideal conditions. But Im seeing this game differently. I see this game at this point one where New England has a chance to regain a little bit of goodwill. As corny as that sounds, I think just playing a solid, professional, well-executed and superior game without Brady breaking any records or the Pats running it up is the best case scenario for this organization. Running the ball well, playing solid D, winning in convincing fashion something like 27-3. Nothing mind-boggling, but essentially dominant. And with Brady only throwing 1 or 2 TDs. Its becoming almost fascinating to me week to week with these guys. The table is set here for a blowout. Its all obvious, and we all see that. Brady throwing for 5 scores against the rival Jets just seems all too easy to predict. But Bill Belichick is always a step ahead of what anyone else is ever thinking, and he and Brady just seem to surprise everyone on a different level seemingly everytime they take the field. I just expect this game is going to be a different New England than we've grown used to seeing the past several weeks. Tomorrow, I think they'll play OLD-FASHIONED football again. Regardless of the weather.

What are your feelings on who's going to tote the rock for the Pats in this OLD -FASHIONED football game plan? Maroney doesn't seem to have the confidence of the coaching staff, Faulk is a guy I see losing his footing with his style of play, so that leaves Evans? I am actually starting to think Maroney might run the ball 15+ times this week, and that could make him a good play at flex for some people (BTW I have him in one league, but he isn't close to cracking that teams starting line up).I still lean more to the camp that just see's the Pat's continuing to throw, with more quick short/intermediate routes. But I do put weight into what your opinion is.

I expect Maroney will see 20 carries tomorrow. Faulk will get his usual handful of catches and probably about a half dozen carries. And I see Evans with around 8 or 10 carries. If the game gets out of hand, Maroney will continue to be 'protected' and Eckel may get a handful of carries in the 4th quarter. I dont buy into the theory that Maroney's somehow been living in a coach's 'doghouse'. NE needs this guy for the playoffs, and theyre lucky theyve been able to win games without grinding him down. He's gonna be fresh for the playoffs, and imo thats brilliant thinking. But overall, I see them running atleast 25 times, but I think it'll be closer to 35. NE plays to its own strengths. But it also plays to its opposition's weaknesses. The Jets are 30th against the run. That's a weakness. NE's Oline is gearing up to run the ball. Looking back to a preseason game against Carolina, which was Maroney's 1st action since coming back off the injury, he had something like 15 carries out of the first 20 offensive plays. It was just one Maroney run after another. And it was effective. Alot has changed with this NE offense since then, but that ability is still there. They execute this O by choice. I think tomorrow, theyll choose to run the Jets into the ground.

Thanks for the insight. You stated a convincing case for NE to use Maroney Sunday.
Good luck with that game. Ive been laying off the player forecasts/predictions this season, but if you go with Maroney, I have a feeling he'll give you some #s.

Thanks, and good luck to you.I have a strong line-up so I don't see myself putting Maroney in. I'm going to stick with who brought me.

And that's strong thinking. Because after all, Maroney's production has anything but a guarantee this season. So it would be a risk. Dance with the lady you brung.

Call me nuts now if you want but I'm benching Brady for Favre..I'll double check the forecast tomorrow, but as of right now why would you play anyone from that game? 1st round of playoffs and obviously can't afford to get a subpar score from my QB because I played him in a blizzard.

Id humbly say youre crazy. Benching the #1 player in fantasy football during the playoffs just doesnt seem like the right thing to do. Id bet a small bag of chips youll come to your senses by lineup deadline. good luck either way.

I know what your saying, but I don't care if its Brady, Manning or anyone, they can't do anything in a blizzard. I don't want to get caught up in starting him just because he's Tom Brady in any kind of weather. I think Favre can give me better numbers in a dome than Brady can in a blizzard. Again will re-check tomorrow.

I predict he's going to throw 5 td passes!! All to Ben Watson!! None to Moss!!!

ahhh, what a great dream.

The weather just means that he'll have 5 TDs from inside the 10 yard line. instead of long bombs to Moss. In fact I'll bet BB tells any RB that if he doesn't slip and fall on a long run near the endzone so they can pass it in will get hammered.
