Does Braylon Edwards have any value? (1 Viewer)

Anybody out there think that Braylon Edwards might have some value? I've never been a big fan of Sidney Rice or any of the other Seattle wr's. Edwards could be a nice sleeper.

Yes.

I think he could be hugely underated this year. He has had a bunch of crap qbs throwing to him all his career, Frye, Anderson, Sanchez, A Smith, now he is an important part of a potentially high caliber offense, depending on Russel Wilson this season, and I hear he's had a big camp. He went undrafted in our league so I picked him up as a complete flyer, but he could be a really good pickup. I like the situation he is in now more than any other time in his career.

I could see him posting a very solid season. Wouldn't be surprised to see 800-1000 yards and 7-8 TD's. Could end up a very solid WR2-3

edwards has always had tremendous physical ability, but for various reasons (some of the self-inflicted, between the ears variety), hasn't had a distinguished NFL career thus far...

if you are a believer in russell wilson, and edwards does in fact start, i think there is cause for optimism (for a similar reason, i'm high on garcon due to my belief in RG3)...

* incidentally, edwards is 29, far from old for a WR...

IF rice continues to be plagued by injury, edwards offers the best combo of size/speed/athleticism/talent/experience of any other WR on the roster to be an inviting downfield target for wilson...

According to the depth chart on seahawks.com he is backing up Golden Tate
Braylon Edwards doesn't suck as an NFL football player. Golden Tate does. That's really about all the analysis you need to understand how this one is going to play out.

The aged Edwards is 29.

The underperforming Edwards has had games comparable to Tate's entire career.

He's a good player, who has fought some injuries. Tate is a joke.

Tate shows some promise but the real point here is really none of these WRs are anything outstanding. Rice really only has had one amazing season (with Farve). Braylon certainly has the talent and physical skills to shine and take over the WR1 spot here. He is also enough of a headcase to become quickly irrelevant.

Braylon appeared to have really good chemistry with Wilson in some of the preseason games I watched. Between Rice and Braylon, there could be a lot of jump balls in SEA this season if Wilson is as good as the masses suggest.

CBS Sports is reporting the following today. I can't verify it's accuracy.News: Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate could miss the first two weeks of the season after suffering a knee injury in the team's final exhibition game last Thursday, according to the Seattle Times. Tate was unable to practice Monday and will likely be replaced by Braylon Edwards as the starter for Week 1 at Arizona on Sunday. Seattle is expected to reveal Tate's official status in its initial injury report on Wednesday.

its really hard to predict this right now cause wilson has never played and Edwards has been MIA for 2 years but I also think something might be brewing here...watching closely this week...

I like him. He has zero trade value right now, but I love having him at the end of my dynasty rosters.

In redraft, tough to find a reason to roster him right now, but if you player in deeper leagues and your looking for WR I would say hes a great choice.

There is NOBODY with even close to the ceiling Edwards has on the waiver wire right now and that's what were looking for in a lottery ticket right?

i agree. if wilson is the real deal it could really bring edwards back from the dead. I am starting to think I would rather have an edwards type as my wr5 than nate burelson who is the 4th option on his own team.....

Fired up as a Jets fan to hear the news. Sounds silly, but he does have chemistry with Sanchez and for pennies on the dollar, he could walk away with 50-650-7...about the same line we'll pay a guy $9 million this year to accomplish on the other side of the field.

Rotoworld:

The NY Daily News' Manish Mehta expects Braylon Edwards to start in Week 1.
He'll likely get the nod over Stephen Hill at X receiver, with Jeremy Kerley at Z. More ominously for Edwards' already-poor fantasy outlook is the fact that Mehta expects him to draw Darrelle Revis on Opening Day against the Bucs. Edwards won't be worth drafting outside of exceptionally deep fantasy leagues.
