does FBG'S have tiered ranking cheatsheets? (1 Viewer)

:confused: I can't find em if they do, a link would be nice if someone has one. Thanks....
great idea and even better would be a tool or template set up that would allow you to create your own tiered cheat sheet based on your own personal rankings. If it was integrated into the DraftDominator it would be even greater. Is it possible to customize the rankings within DD?

ok I will take that as a no, thought maybe I missed it in the mountain of other stuff. I was just looking for a master cheatsheet with them broken down into tiers allready :shrug: , I guess I will have to do it myself, would be nice if the dd had something like that.

It's not rocket science....use the VBD Excel program, customize it to your league scoring system, print out a cheatsheet and look for drop offs in production at each position and draw a line at that drop off. It will give you tiers/buckets. If it gets any easier it would be having Joe go to your draft and drafting for you.

I know its not rocket science, I was just curious if they had one done allready and wanted to see where they tiered the players, my tiers seemed small (or not right anyways) when I did the receivers...a couple of other sites have them but the rankings suck, no big deal just thought they would have something all ready done like this...

i usually tier up the players myself. i look for a 10% to 15% drop (gap) from one player to the next. maybe my % is too high ?

for example w/ my made-up #s,

T1

LT - 300 pts

==============================

T2

SJ - 225 (about 25% gap from LT so this starts teir 2)

LJ - 214 (only about 5% gap compared to SJ)

==============================

T3

FG - 190 (about 22% gap from LJ)

==============================

T4

RB - 150 (about 30% gap compared to FG)

does anyone do the same with a % drop like me? if so, what & do you use?

I like 20pt. tier personally. If you use the VBD app you can get the nice 1 page sheet at Arial 4pt font in Excel (its a little small but it'll keep your friends from looking at it. Click format cells to draw your tier lines, color code names/boxes for your own purposes. On this one sheet you not only have your rankings but ADP/byes, it works for me.

Anyone have a good system for Tiering them on Excel. What is the point gap in which you Tier your players.

I don't think tiering really works. Maybe at the top of each position (Manning in his own tier, and maybe Palmer in his own tier and the Brees/Bulger/Brady/McNabb in their own tier; for WR, Steve Smith in his own tier, and then the big 5 in another one) but outside of that, the dropoff at each position is fairly linear, and not prone to being placed in tiers.

Who the heck still uses tiers?

Oh, are you going to run one of those pickem newspaper contests?

Tiering helps to see how many similar/equal valued players are left for each position so that you can make a strategic educated guess as to whether you need to take a certain player or position now or if you can wait a round and still get somebody of similar value in that position. It's a valuable tool that I have used with great success.A linear drop in value doen't apply here IMO since a tiering sheet that I will put together groups level of risk instead of pure fantasy point predictions. Not everybody follows DD or staff picks like they are gospel or else we could just put on the DraftDominator and take whoever it picks for you. You'd probably end up with a pretty good team but I'd rather take pride in my own evaluations and gut picks. DD is a great tool for mock and drafting but going old school and bringing a tiered cheatsheet and marking off names is a lot of fun too.
