Does Russell Wilson Elevate Kellen Winslow's Value in a PPR League (1 Viewer)

Winslow caught a TD pass from Wilson the other day and it seems Winslow (who had over 72 receptions last year in Tampa) could be primed out of surprising BIG season despite all the injuries he had in years past. In fact, despite his nagging injuries he has been quite productive in the reception department.

Thoughts/Opinions?

Yes, Wilson has elevated everybody's value in Seattle IMHO. I literally have bumped up every starting skill position player.

But is Winslow starting over Zach Miller?

The depth charts I've seen say otherwise but that's probably due to Miller being the incumbent and the better blocker. He's a very good receiver as well, as his former Raider days will attest. Has the line improved enough so that Miller might actually run pass patterns this year?

Unless they go all New England on us, seems like a TE-by-committee situation that will limit both of their values.

I see Winslow being more of the pass catching, line up as a WR, TE in the offense, whereas Miller will be use more as a traditional TE. Both are cheap/late round picks, but my money is on Winslow being the better fantasy TE.

Bet on a lot of two TE formationsBut both Winslow and Miller will be involved thus taking value away from the other unless one becomes the dominant receiver which I don't see right now - neither are being drafted in many 12 team ppr drafts

Wilson hit Jacob Pedersen for 8td last year on the badgers - 5th best in college football for TE. Wilson will be comfortable targeting a big pass catching TE.

I like Zach Miller over Winslow, but that may just be because he has already been a fantasy relevant TE1 with Oakland

This is a pretty interesting notion actually. I've read mostly that Winslow will play more of the "joker" while Miller is an in-line TE. Right now given the amount of "competition" they have run in the preseason we've seen 6 TEs get work over the past 3 preseason games. I believe it would be reasonable to assume that 3 TEs get some work over the year and will see numbers in a (quasi-pulling this from thin air) 60%/30%/10% split.

The 3 preseason games by player and overall totals:

catches/yards/TDsName Game 1 Game 2 Game 3 Zach Miller 2/23/0 Kellen Winslow 1/11/0 2/23/1Sean McGrath 2/13/0 1/22/0 1/5/0Anthony McCoy 2/13/0 1/26/0 2/47/0Cameron Morrah 1/4/0 Cooper Helfet 1/8/1 1/3/0Total 6/49/0 5/71/1 6/78/1
It's worth mentioning that the two TDs were thrown by Wilson and not Flynn. I think this means I would tentatively bank on a 3.4 catch, 66 yard, 0.4 TD line from the Seahawks TE based on the above split. Again, that split is out of thin air.

It is going to be frustrating to see Miller used to block every down again this year, I really hope that won't be necessary

This....and outside Rookie QB's really do favor Tight-Ends. In fact.....YOU CAN ARGUE that Wilson COULD BECOME the best QB that Winslow has ever had. If memory serves me correctly, Winslow had Derek Anderson and Josh Freeman as QB's over his career. Obviously, Wilson has to exceed many peoples expectations to even be better than Anderson and Freeman.

Thoughts?
