Does the US get Ricky in the CFL? (1 Viewer)

Eh, it's only preseason. If the CFL's preseason is anything like the NFL's preseason, then Toronto looks like they could have as good a chance at the Grey Cup as anyone, and Ricky Williams will lead the league in rushing.

I dont know squat about the CFL, but only 13 total rushing attempts and 36 passing attempts?

The Argos' offence was going nowhere yesterday. In a close and normal game (let's take Blue Bombers-Alouettes), the Als had 40 passing attempts and 18 rushing attemps while the Bombers had 39 passing attempts and 14 rushing attempts. I guess that's about the norm in the CFL.

Remember, you have one less down in the CFL, hence more passing, less running. Not to mention the wider field and the man in motion before the snap.

Not saying the game is better (because it definitely isn't), just noting why there are so many passing plays.

The CFL is a pass happy league, even more so than the NFL has become recently. Last years top rusher in the CFL had 290 attempts and there were only 5 other guys that had 200 or more. In the NFL there were 10 guys with more than 300 atttempts, led by Alexander with 370. The top passer had 715 attempts and the #2 guy had 661 compared to 607 for tops in the NFL (Favre).I know it is not an apples to apples comparison since there are only like 9 teams in the CFL, but they do play 18 games up North.

Yeah I know all that. I'm an Alouettes fan and I watch all of their game.

My bad, had no idea... I thought your post was looking for reasons for the difference.
