Does Your Fantasy League Do Anything for Week 17? (1 Viewer)

I ain't got time to bleed
I always thought it was a terrible idea to have your championship game in week 17 (and I think most agree).

Our commish runs what he calls the "Muscle Bowl". We have a 55 man roster with individual defensive players and a deep bench (obviously).

The "Muscle Bowl" consists of him scoring everyone on your roster. The winner gets a cut of the league fees. I always thought it was a pretty cool idea. Any others out there?

In one of my leagues, we have a pro bowl in week 17 - by division (3 divisions). Each of the 4 owners per division are allowed to contribute 2 players to fill the 1 QB 2 RB 3 WR TE PK "pro bowl" roster. Then the 3 divisional teams go head to head in winner-takes-the-trophy format week 17. No D/ST on pro bowl week.

It gives us something to do to end regular season.

A couple of my leagues have a "Toilet Bowl" in week 17.

Each of the 8 non-playoff teams (12 team leagues) can submit

ANY lineup they want with ANY players on ANY teams in the NFL.

Highest score basically wins back their entry fee.

(start 1 QB/2RB/3Rec/K/DST)

We reset rosters to what they were after draft. Then play your entire roster. Lowest points gets first pick, next lowest second pick and so on.

Our league does this cool thing I like to call, "playing fantasy football". We play week 17 just like any other week. We have our Superbowl for the head-2-head contest portion of our league, but better than that is all points scored in week 17 count towards the total points championship. The total points champ wins all the cash.

I never could understand why people quit playing fantasy football whe the NFL plays on another week.

I have heard all the excuses about week 17 having studs sit out and no-namers playing out the season. That's bunk. If you know before your draft that the season plays until week 17, and the superbowl is in week 17, you'll adjust your draft. You'll also be more active on the waivers to secure the backups of any studs that may see extended bench time in week 17.

Why do people still end their season in week 16?

We do a "Pro Bowl" where everyone submits a starting lineup and high score gets a little bit back.

We do a "free-for-all" contest with a small variation. Each owner submits a lineup of players per normal roster requirements, and highest total points wins. However, the top 5 scoring players in each position are not available for picking. This eliminates everyone picking LT and LJ as their top backs.

We do a ProBowl as well. With a five team (per division) & two division format we have the division champion select two players from each team in their own division to make up a ten team roster (1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, and 1DT). The tenth player is a tie-breaker player. The winning division collects 100% of the transaction money and they divide it by five. We charge .50 per add/drop & 1.00 per trade & right now we have 196.00 in the pot.

Pro Bowl....

Each division winner picks a lineup consisting of atleast one player from each team in division...
