Double Header Weeks (1 Viewer)

I have heard some chatter about week 11 having been a "double header week". I am intrigued by this concept. We are a 12 team league with 2 divisions. We only get to face 2 of our division foes twice - all others just once.

I am interested in hearing how this double header system works. We use CBS Sportsline. Is there a way to manage it in the software?

We just started using it this year at MFL. Same setup as you, we play all division opponents twice, and during the 3 non division weeks, we play two teams from the other division at the same time. The only thing we will probably change is to make sure the double headers happen before or after the bye weeks.

I don't know if CBS supports it.

We had the double-header in my local last week. Boy, is it a make-or-break week as the weeks to the playoffs dwindle. I was lucky enough to have a nice week and get both wins, but it easily could have gone the other way.

We don't do it in my dynasties on MFL yet, though.

We've always been a 12 team, 3 division league. Great setup. Need 14 weeks to play all of your division rivals twice, and everyone else once. We used to have the SB in week 17, then saw the light (never forget when I lost the SB because Michael Irvin put on a beanie on the sideline in the first quarter when I needed 10 more yards for the trophy).

Now? We wait until all the byes are over. Week 11 doubleheader. You play your regularly scheduled opponent plus the division rival not on your schedule to be played twice. Works great. Makes it exciting, especially if you have a hot week. We had two 4-6 owners win both games and are now in the thick of it at 6-6. Sucks if you lose both though.

I'm the commish of a 24-man redraft PPR league that's broken down into two conferences on MFL. One 12 man conference consists of local players (TX) while the other conference are non-local players scattered around the world (mainly military). We play double header games weekly for a total of 24 regular season games and our playoffs start week 13-16.

Awesome league but I am a little biased :hot:

CBS does allow for a double-header... My League = 12 team / 3 divisons = play divisional opponents twice, the remaining 8 teams once, double-header week #11 = 1 div opponent / 1 non-div opponent. Schedule is 14 games / 13 weeks with DH. This allows our playoffs to begin in week 14 as it should be and ALL teams have played ALL teams at least once. Tiebreakers are simple with H2H as 1st tiebreaker and Total Points as 2nd tiebreaker...

I normally set my divisions and then print a "regular" 14 week schedule. From there, I COMBINE weeks 11+12 and then manually input the "adjusted" schedule into CBS' system >>> WITH double-headers checked as an option.

CBS assumes you will be running a DH each week this way... To get around it, simply input the weekly schedule and add "TBA" (to be announced) for the other 6 "games". This way, you will have ONLY 6 games played per week UNTIL week 11. At that point, input ALL 12 games (double-header week) and resume week 12 and 13 with TBA's again... (TBA's are an option in the drop-down input menu).

The KEY here is to SET your divisions and allow CBS to create a REGULAR 14 week schedule FIRST... Then YOU must manually combine weeks 11+12 to create your double-header week.

Make sure you DOUBLE/TRIPLE/QUADRUPLE check your inputs for EACH WEEK. You will be solely responsible for any schedule screw up during the season. This part is CRUCIAL...

CBS does allow DH's and it works flawlessly.

This is exactly how and why we do it. Three divisions, division rivals twice and everyone else once. We wait until bye weeks are over (for a couple of years, we did it while guys were on bye and that sucked). We have been on Fanball for a few years, which supports the double header, but many years ago we were on Sportsline and we did it there as well.Only negative...every year, some bonehead forgets to submit a second lineup. They always get 0 because it is their own responsibility to submit for both games, and they get multiple reminders.
