Great call!!! Somehow, I forget about how awesome he was in the last 2 minutes of tight games.Elway for sure!
Montana or Marino (nobody did more with less overall team around him). Imagine if he had Rice? or a defense? or a RB?
You mean the totally bias link based on a very small sample set?Solid research.Actually if you read the link I posted, he doesn't even top his lil' bro.+1Peyton Manning. Master of the 2 minute offense
Brady only does FG drives. We are down by 4 here, people.
Brady, Montana, and Elway. Not sure what order I would put them in.Peyton Manning not getting enough love here. Being a Pats fan and having Brady on my side, there is no QB I fear more in today's NFL than Peyton Manning, in any situation. Belichick made the right call going for it on 4th down.

Brady leads you to the points you need. You mention the fact that Ben is in the discussion because he did it in a SuperBowl? Brady did it THREE TIMES in Super Bowls.1. Brady only leads you to field goals. Not TDs. 2. Manning has choked too many times.3. Roethlisberger has to be in the discussion. He did it in a Superbowl. 2 minute drive to game winning TD. (although they weren't down 4+)4. Can we get stats on % of drives in last 3 minutes of games resulting in needed TDs for all QBs? Drinen? I want to know not just how many times the QB has done it, but what % of the time they have. That's the key.
:FIXED:Elway went to 3 Super Bowls in the same era as Marino with some of the weakest surrounding casts I've ever seen...Liquid Tension said:Montana or Marino Elway (nobody did more with less overall team around him). Imagine if he had Rice? or a defense? or a RB?

Did it ever occur to you guys that NE only went for the FG because that was all they needed? The disucssion here is about QBs that can win the games for you. Brady has won a higher percentage of come-from-behind wins than any other active QB and has done it more times on the biggest stage than any other QB in history.Field Goals are three points.Brady leads you to the points you need. True. Perhaps we should just have another poll question: Which QB would you want when you only need to get the ball to the opponent's 30?Did it ever occur to you guys that NE only went for the FG because that was all they needed? Good post but I would take Bradshaw over Staubach40's: Baugh
50's: Tittle
60's: Unitas
70's: Staubach
80's: Montana
90's: Marino
00's: Brady
This. In combination with The Genius for a coach, it was ridiculous. Nearest comparison in the last 15 years is Brady/Belichik. Still not close.Montana and it's not even close.
Agreed.Mannings numbers all go DOWN in the playoffs. TDs down. INTs up. Completion percentage down. And no not every QBs stats go down in the playoffs. Some actually go up. Manning is a great QB, he's not a clutch QB.And choke jobsPeyton Manning. Master of the 2 minute offenseThe last guy I'd want in clutch time.
You realize that the defenses he plays against in the playoffs are usually better, right?I realize that not every QB in histroy has a slip in stats in the playoffs...but most do - and for that reason.Agreed.Mannings numbers all go DOWN in the playoffs. I chose Montana, but the other two I considered were Unitas and Elway.Interesting that most are not considering any QBs beyond the Montana/Elway/Marino timeframe. I guess memory fades over time, but I'd take Unitas over all those guys every day of the week.
Stabler and Tarkenton would also be in the conversation for the seventies. If we're considering just the second half of that decade, I'd be tempted to add Brian Sipe too.Good post but I would take Bradshaw over Staubach40's: Baugh
