Dr. Gobbler welched out on his bet from year ago in this thread (1 Viewer)

Very tough loss for the Lakers tonight. Wasted great performances by Kobe and Bynum. Lou Williams was unstoppable in the 4th. Frustrating.

I have to admit, this is a just criticism. The Lakers were having great success with Bynum and Gasol. But in the last few minutes with Williams red hot, Kobe tried to match him, and he really did hog the ball down the stretch. And yes, he does that too much.

The problem is defense. Particularly the old PG who you don't want to retire.

This team is too talented to lose they way they did tonight and against Utah. I know the haters are just going to say they're old and washed up, but I don't believe that. If Andrew Bynum is averaging 20 points and nearly 20 rebounds, that should be a winning formula for the Lakers. I think these problems are fixable. I don't know how though. Will they make a trade for a point guard?

I know. I just hate to admit it, because I love the guy. And I still don't want him to retire. But I want him play limited minutes off the bench, maybe 10 a game. Behind an NBA caliber starting point guard. I don't think that's Blake, either.

OMG!!! Lakers suck!!! hahaha they'll never win with Kobe hogging the ball!!! LOLZ!!!...Go Clipperz!!!...cuz Stuey Scott told me they're cooler than the other side of the pillow, bro!!!

NBA in February...It's Faaantasstic!...at least for guys that have an inordinate fascination with rooting against the lakers.

No, this is the thread where we answer someone's statement that the Lakers are clearly the team to beat in the west. Oh, and we attempt to come to terms with the state of the Lakers. Try to keep up.

Anybody who thinks a Donald Sterling owned team is the new NBA team in LA is well, very challenged in many areas.

Sorry Brong, Ive been busy trying to come up with Timschochets new sig when the Clippers finish with a better record than the Lakers. Maybe I'll let the FFA decide...

Gobbler, your boy BRONG is showing you how to keep up. Better make a note of that at bedtime.

Drummer, do you even know who Chick Hearn is?
Do YOU know what sacrilege is? Rip the Lakers all you want. Make fun of me all you want. But don't you dare reference Chick or his quotes and at the same time root against the Lakers. Some things are not acceptable.

Makes sense. At least put a little effort into it next time, the final score was 95-90. When lying about the play by play, just put a little more effort and edit the score too.

I didn't get to see the game last night, but I read something like Bynum had a dunk off a lob with about 4:30 left in the game to put the Lakers up 6 and then didn't touch the ball on offense the rest of the game? Is that right?

Character waived. LA avoiding the guarantee of his contract, or is there a FA signing to come? Arenas?
Shocked at that. Really liked his back to the basket game, thought he had a future. It's terrible because if he wasn't injured in preseason he would still probably be on the team.He could be a steal for someone down the road. Maybe Denver.

Then I gotta assume a signing or trade or both is pretty imminent. As much as I don't really enjoy the guy...they could really use a JR Smith off the bench. They need some offensive punch and speed off that bench in a desperate way.

No to him Arenas, and Dwight.Would love a Pau for Rondo deal.

Who would make shots besides Kobe?ETA: Saw the report on Hoopsworld. Interesting. I'm not a Rondo fan but there is little doubt he would be the "speed" LA covets.

It's hard to blame Mitch since the league completely screwed him on the CP3 trade, but this team is just too slow to compete for a title right now barring a remarkable run. Paul would have fixed that, but oh well.Dealing Bynum for Howard would help, as would bringing in a younger PG (Sessions?).

The thing I cant figure out is why the Lakers have a thread in the FFA. The Bulls are the team to beat this year. Right now we are resting Rose for the playoffs. I mean seriously, this is the team that Michelle Jordan built. How can this team not be the team to beat.
