Draft Chat With our Draftniks Matt Waldman and Sigmund Bloom Tonight D (1 Viewer)

There's your 1.6 in most leagues. Thomas will get a chance to carry the ball 250+ times for Miami. Maybe 1.4 or 1.5 and the 1.6 owner gets LeShoure dropping into his lap

Little could become a Marshall-like force. No one blocking him in Cleveland. I think he might be your WR3 in this rookie draft when the dust settles.
:goodposting:Little is very good after the catch, which is ideal for a West Coast offense. Little is probably going to be my #1 target this draft.
If the Rams wanted to improve the passing attack this was the way to do it.
No doubt - Little has Larry Johnson like size - runs a little like him. Hard not to be enamored with his potential. Kind of like the way the Chargers were enamored with Vincent Jackson. could turn out the same way if Little has his head on straight. He just has to dial back the after play intensity so he doesn't make stupid mistakes. Miami takes Daniel Thomas. He fits the physical mold that the Dolphins like out of their backs.

Matt, I agree on Vareen. He's had heavy workload games where he appeared to be the type to get stronger and wear down a defense. Not many, but enough to respect him as more than change of pace. Still, NEs feature back is basically a change of pace from the constant changing of paces.
Good point - you just have to wonder if taking an RB like Vereen in round two signals a change here. Kind of like how picking two TE's signaled a change to that offense last year.

The fact that Thomas also knows the Wildcat could be big. If he can leapfrog the aging veterans, he could have a big role in Miami immediately

I wanted Curtis Brown or Kenrick Ellis, but I can live with Gilbert..Just like Heyward, they made the pick very quick, so they must like him

Nice. Cobb to GB throws a monkeywrench into rookie drafts. I think he is better than Jones or Nelson and second half of the first in rookie drafts gets murkier. Thomas, Vereen, Cobb, Little all see their value enhanced by their destinations imo.

Honestly, New England has looked their best when they have had a change of pace runner that can catch. Faulk was a stud for years on passing downs for them. Last year, they get Woodhead (who was cut) to be a major contributor. I think the Pats are realizing this is their best offense (running the 3rd down offense). I think they will rotate the kid into the mix with the other backs that can catch on their roster.

That's definitely a great nice pick for them. He can start on special teams and get used in a variety of roles in special packages as he learns the position. Good run blocker. This is another player the Rams should have taken.

thought Cobb and Little would go higher, but both end up in decent spots. Little more because he can play early, Cobb gets one of the best QBs in the game.

If Best cant' stay healthy, Leshoure might put Best in a "Reggie Bush" role pretty quick. Great pick for the Lions, who I am falling in love with.As a Titans fan with a scary rookie qb, I need options....
Scary, I transplanted from the Lions to the Titans a few years ago.

Jon Gruden: Substance about player will fit and what he can do.

Mel Kiper: Numbers. Criticism. Numbers. School back story. Numbers. Players that he says should have been picked who happened to be represented by agents who paid him. Number.

I like the Cobb pick, but lets face it - it will be Finley - Jennings - Nelson - Driver - then Cobb. Great opportunity for him to develop and be the typical 3rd year WR breakout player

I just cannot believe Mallett is still on the board .... he had really big numbers in the SEC for 2 seasons, cannon for an arm, accurate ... NOT mobile but dang are Dalton & Kaepernick REALLY better NFL QB prosects?I don't think so ....
couldn't agree more. Really makes me wonder what he had to admitt to during the team interviews.

Wow I stepped away and two huge things happened with bigtime fantasy ramifications.

Thomas to the Dolphins is big. I think he slides into the 1.06 without question now, and I think some people will get enamored with him enought to take him at 1.04.

Cobb to Green Bay??? WOW. I love it. This will be another weapon for Rodgers. Sick. Just a great gadget player with potential for a lot more. Cobb is easily the 5th best WR, and I can see the argument for taking him as the 3rd WR in ppr, as Cobb has a chance to be really special with the Packers down the road.

Mike Garafolo

First person who called Austin after getting drafted: former UNC teammate and teammate once again Hakeem Nicks.

Austin's attitude, apparently: an on-field demeanor Reese compared to former Giants defensive tackle Keith Hamilton.

"He's got a nasty motor, a mean demeanor about him," Reese said. "He's going to bring that nasty attitude. ... I like to have some big nasty guys in your front. I kind of like that."

Driver is not long for this league. Cobb slides into the slot and could be bigtime. Might be better for the Packers than for fantasy purposes, though...due to the absurd amount of weapons that the Packers have.

Catching up with last few picks after tucking kids in.

Love the RB pick of Thomas to Miami - Thomas should fit right in, although I still think Ricky is there as the RB1a/2.

Kobb - Matt's guy, I'll defer to him - but interesting pick to Green Bay. James Jones - bye bye.

Patriots coming up with two back to back picks - I think they should take Mallet and replace Tom Brady with Drew Bledsoe, sweeeeeet.

Ooo, Justin Houston still available.

Hmm Irving could stay in the middle after all? DJ Williams is going to WLB right? I liked Irving on film as much as any LB in this class, car accident recovery uncertainty and potential to be moved outside was what kept him down in the predraft 100. I just might slot him as LB1 in the post-draft 100, albeit outside of the top 20.

From the Journal / Sentinel BlogFor another, he can return kicks and punts. He averaged 23.74 yards per kickoff return and 7.82 on punt returns during his senior season. And finally, he can line up in the backfield and run with the ball.He caught 84 passes for 1,017 yards and seven touchdowns and also ran 55 times for 424 yards and five touchdowns. He completed 5 of 10 passes for 58 yards and 3 touchdowns. Not a burner though - so the Jones replacement to start, Driver long term
