3-technique tackle aligns between the offensive guard and tackle, often seeing single blocking v the guard. Put a big tackle who can get off the ball quickly (Warren Sapp, La'Roi Glover, Tommie Harris previously and others) in that role and you'll have a havoc-wreaker against the run and pass. The Bears don't use lots of Tampa-2, but Lovie likes to use a 3-tech in most packages.Paea fits the bill.
