This thread inspired me to start a rumor that my wife is going to show up at this year's draft in a school girl outfit in order to distract the competition. She's easy on the eyes, to say the least, so a few of my league mates are already a bundle of nerves over it.

Heh heh... the name of my team in that league is the Bus Drivers, and towards the end of the year last year I changed my logo to a picture of, yes, my wife in a school girl outfit. The logos on our site are pretty small, but you could still make out what the picture was. It created a bit of a stir, thus giving this year's rumor maximum impact.

Damn teaseAs far as the debate over draft chicks goes my take is if everyone is an adult they should be allowed to do whatever in the hell they want to do as long as nobody gets hurt. PS - That pic of the Cincy guys is exactly what I would picture if someone told me to imagine a fantasy draft in Cincinnati.

I'm sorry.. did the thread title mislead you? It's about a component of a fantasy football draft on a fantasy football forum. What exactly are you having trouble with.

It's borderline but it can stay in the spirit of making the league / draft more fun. We had an article on that recently.J

Hiring "draft chicks" is the dumbest idea I have ever heard. No offense, but fantasy football is kind of a nerdy activity. The last thing I would want is for hot chicks to see my doing a football draft.

Besides, having to pay money to a hot chick seems kind of pathetic and desperate doesn't it?

Paying pretty girls to participate in your activities is like going to a strip club and paying girls cash to pretend to be interested in you. To each his own, so I hope everyone who does it has fun. But to me it's a bit weird.

Now, if some wives or girlfriends wanted to help out with the draft...wonderful. Or someone you know volunteers to be a part of it because she thinks it's cool, great. But to have to pay someone so you can look at them while conducting a fantasy football draft? I just can't see doing that.

Frankly the whole idea is terrible. What's wrong with just hanging out with the guys (or gals if your league has some) and talking football all afternoon (evening) while you draft?

Do we really need "sex" with our football?

And you know what? Even though we have a cutey working the board, rather than all running for a corner and jacking off, we actually find ourselves talking football all afternoon. Crazy, isn't it?

Do you think it's an accident that most sports bars hire attractive girls to be bartenders/waitresses? Do you tip them for bringing you beers in a bar?

What's wrong with paying them for bringing you beers at your draft?

She's a good friend and might even do it for free but why would I ask her to do that? She should be paid for her time and I think $10 per guy is a steal for us to have someone post all the pics, and bring us beers for 3 hours. The fact that she'll be dressed to impress is gravy.

You may be overly insecure about your FF habit but any chicks over 15 are well aware of the hobby and it's mainstream enough now that most chicks don't view it as "nerdy"... and better yet, turns out most girls over the age of 15 get over that judgmental stage anyway. Growing up is kinda neat.

They've grown up enough to charge you for it. And I think you're kidding yourself if you believe their service there is bringing you beers (like you're not able to handle that task) or putting picks up on a draft board (like everyone doesn't keep track of it on their own anyway). They're there to look sexy and be seen catering to men who don't normally get that kind of attention (I say that because if they did, they'd have one of those girls do it and they wouldn't get charged).Please don't misunderstand. They're not doing anything wrong, and I don't have any problem with women being utilized in this way. It's the having to pay for it part that looks kind of sad. That's all.

I'm afraid you are incorrect. Not only do I not have a problem with alcohol at drafts, I have plenty available when I host. I simply don't need alcohol or care enough about it to include it while I'm drafting. When I'm hanging out with my friends, alcohol can be there or not. It doesn't make it any more fun for me. So to the extent that alcohol can affect judgment, I think it's silly to include it. If it was more important to me, maybe I'd rationalize it or try to keep it around. I guess I don't care. Or maybe I just can't afford any additional impairment to my shaky judgment. I'll take all the help I can get at the draft.

As far as draft chicks goes, the idea of paying a pretty girl to hang out with me is weird. It's clear she's not being chosen for her skill at serving drinks or updating a draft board. She's picked because she's hot. Hey, if you have a hot girl who wants to hang out with you, awesome. But paying a hot girl to hang out with me and my buddies? I'm just not seeing it. But more power to you.

I guess it depends on how much you had to pay the cutey to spend that time with you. That would be more telling as to how crazy it is. If she hung out with you because she likes you and did it for free...not crazy at all, my good man. Carry on.

Wow. Thought if someone put out a poll it would be like 99% for. Our league has done this in about half our drafts. Most years we draft in Vegas (not this year) and one of the guys gets a suite at the Mandalay Bay. Almost always the group is out on the town the night before, and, umm, we've made some friends.

We've had great experiences and some pretty funny ones. Some were phenomenal looking with great attitudes (one year the guy with the #1 pick had her knock on the door and walk in wearing nothing but a Priest Holmes jersey and high heels - quite a stunning entrance and a great way to make a statement with the first pick), other years - let's just say those girls musta been much better looking when it was dark at the Crazy Horse. I'm talkin' corn on the cobb through a picket fence..

Nothing like a guy with a topless draft chick on his lap being distracted with time running out and blurting "Wayne Chrebet" with his third round pick (true story).

Apparently you missed the part of this where she was a friend of mine. We hang out fairly regularly. After the draft is over and she's "off the clock" she's going back to the casino for some blackjack/craps/poker. The guys had mentioned getting a girl to work the league... She's hot and could use the cash.... and was going to hit the casino with me anyway. Seems like a win win because yes, I would MUCH rather look at her perfect ### as the picks post up than our fat VP or Controller.

But then again... from reading your posts between this thread and the alcohol at drafts is bad thread I'm pretty sure neither of us will ever be in a league together so I don't think this will be a problem. I'd be bored to tears in your league and you couldn't keep up in mine

She is a bartender by trade. Why would I ask her to come tend bar and post decals without paying her? When the plan was to go gamble and hang out that night (the initial plan) I had no intentions of giving her money. When the topic of having a draft girl surfaced and I asked her about it, I offered her a little something since she'd actually be working for a couple hours.

I certainly wouldn't ask my buddy to do their job to the benefit of a group of people (most of which they didn't know) and expect them to do it for free. Especially when that friend is tight on cash (which as stated before was a reason why I asked her if she wanted the gig while she was down there).

On the whole friend bartend thing. I've done IT work and I've bartended before. If my buddies were asking me to bartend their fantasy league (that I wasn't a part of) I would expect to get paid. If my buddies need help fixing their computer, the only thing I expect to get paid is a beer.

You just can't compare the two of them.

It's not that it's so good, just really complex....And sometimes that's a bad thing. When the one guy left we scaled it back because when most of us got into this we were single with loads of time. Now pretty much all of us are married or have been married and are simplifying things.

We will be 10 males in a suite at the Mandalay Bay drafting for four hours on August 23th starting sometime in the late afternoon.

Your duties will be to make sure none of us run out of frosty beverages, to keep track of players taken on an oversized draft board (step stool included), and to wrestle under a glass table while either partially clothed or not clothed at all (this is why we would prefer more than one of you). Bonus points if you know something about football, know how to mix drinks, and enjoy making sure everyone is having a good time. We promise we will not degrade you by using your head for a coaster, nor will we expect any special favors as we value professionalism over anything.

Last year when I posted this ad we received an offer from a female who simply had no legs, which I determined to be cheating. So please, only true little people apply.

If interested, please respond by Friday. And don’t worry about bringing anything as we will supply beverages, glass table, and rainbow with pot of gold.

Excellent! I have to say we went to Dublin's on Sunset back in 2000 for Patty's Day and they had "hired hands" (to the same extent as these guys are looking for in the craigslist add) running back and forth on the bar pouring shots in people's mouths for free. Free shots plus leprechauns dancing the jig all around the place made it very festive.

My league did this once way back in 04. The hot chick/waitress/sticker girl was impressed at me selecting Drew Bennett in the last round. We went back to my place, I put on my Authentic Ron Dayne jersey and we copulated like two fertile badgers. I won the championship that year.
