I keep hearing the Colts prefer addai over maroney anyway due to his superior blitz recognition, and they do need aa replacement for Edge. Ryans isnt the cover guy Sideline to sideline, that Thornton is anyway so I went Addai.

and I read Somewhere that Chris Mortenson even said this week that Indy would be doing backflips if Addai were still there at the end of the 1st.

DeMeco Ryans to replace Thornton?
That's my guess, but the split with Howard may give this to Addai. I have a feeling that's wrong. Too many similar RBs availabe and a big drop in cover two OLBs...

Maybe folks should read this before voting.I would guess about 15 of the 32 teams have legitimate leaks and we get some solid stuff like in the Jax thread, and in the Cowboy thread, Cleveland, SF, and KC have seemed forthcoming. Some teams are just tight as a drum when it comes to information, or obviously employeeing some gamesmanship. The Colts don't play games, and they don't have leaks. So anything you're hearing is just wild speculation or educated assumption. I agree with the article. RB very doubtful here. Maybe. This whole mock feels like it was done on a fantasy football message board to me. :D

Polian loves to prove how smart he is. I think Addai is the guy they wanted all along and he'll either select him here or trade down a few spots and try and pick him up. There was a time when Polian could have maybe waited until their round 2 pick to get Addai, but that seems very unlikely now. Plus I think the colts have Alston graded well and would be fine with him in the 2nd for an OLB.

But Polian is his own egg. Who knows? There certainly seems to be many better BAP choices on the board.

Jason Allen and Kiwi are the guys falling big so far? I bet Allen doesn't get past Pitt, but how far does Kiwi fall? Is it soley based on Brick punking him out at the Senior Bowl practices?

Ryans and Kiwi are the big movers in a mock I am trying to finish before I change it again and again and again. I think Kiwanuka is headed to NE in the first round. A pretty decent source says Belichick called him the closest thing to McGinest. Many of the DEs are discussed as OLB conversions, but that generally excludes Kiwi because he's closer to DE size. He's looked good in space in drills, and really McGinest was a hybrid who played with his hand down more than not. I love this fit for Kiwi, btw.

I agree than colts are very tight lipped and nothing I'm saying about the colts has anything to do with any inside info. As a Jags fan I follow the colts pretty closely. I know Polian is a wild card. My thoughts on Addai and Alston as based on those players fitting into what Polian likes in a player and similar veiws held by colts fans that also try and guess what Polian is thinking. But in the end, as the article said, unless he picks a return specialist, you can't really call it a surprise. Polian has always done his own thing.

You're making a lot of sense. My anti-Addai bias and respect for Polian on draft are comingling unnecessarily. I think I got this guy right (not as good as expected), so I think Polian will have it right too. I'm probably giving myself too much credit. Addai may be excellent and Edge like, but I doubt it. I do know Mo Drew visited Indy and left thinking they were a real possibility. He read that as late first. I read it as late second if available. It sort of made me think Round 1 = no RB. Indy worked out just about all the day one RBs.

So it's something like Ryan/Drew or Howard /Norwood OR Addia/Alston if you are thinking RB and LB in the first 2 rounds? Hmm..

I like Ryans and think he might be the best pick, but Dungy loves speed at LB, might he be more inclined to go Howard if they go LB?

It looks like the same thing is going to happen with the colts in this poll that happened with the Jaguars. The LBs(Ryans and Howard) will split the vote and the RB end up winning.

 Just a comment / suggestion, CC is doing a nice job with these. It may have been better to poll "what position will X take", and if a person says the team will take a position, just because BPA at that point is a certain player, so be it. Otherwise, we get a lot of vote splitting and a player gets selected that shouldn't.

thats the thing, Ryans isnt a fit, speedwise. it should be Howard or Addai here, Addai may be a reach but the RB need s going to be sorely tested by the time Indy picks again...Addai is a seamless fit to me and offensively the dont miss a beat despite the loss of Edge.

Chaos has done a great job, Ive stayed with it simply because he's taken it so seriously and he deserves the same consideration from us the voters.

:goodposting:
In this case it doesnt apply, even if you combine the Ryans and howard votes, its still 60/40 Addai over LB, this just demonstrates what GM's face in developing a concensus amongst a teams scouts, when they finally have to choose

Thanks guys. This has been fun more than anything.

I don't know about polling by position because BPA should play a heavy role in the first round. I could have avoided splits by offerring less options.

Yea, I can't think of a better way to do it either. And at least with the colts, it seems Addai wins any which way you do it.
