Dwayne Bowe (1 Viewer)

Rotoworld:

Dwayne Bowe (questionable, groin) will play in Week 8 against the Browns.
Bowe suffered a mid-week groin injury, but it's not serious enough to keep him out of Sunday's game. He'll be nothing more than a low-end WR4 in a tough matchup with Joe Haden. Bowe has just 13 catches for 147 yards over his last three games.

This is all the Chiefs do on offense:

1) Hand off to Charles

2) 2 yard checkdown to Charles or McCluster

3) Smith drops back, sees no one wide open and rushes for 7 yards

Rotoworld:

Dwayne Bowe was held to one catch for seven yards in Week 8 against the Browns.
Bowe was shadowed by Joe Haden and only targeted twice in the passing game. He was clearly playing at less than full health after suffering a groin injury in practice this week. Bowe has been a major disappointment after signing a five-year, $56 million extension this offseason. He's on pace for just 52 catches, 604 yards, and four touchdowns through eight weeks.

Rotoworld:

Dwayne Bowe (groin) was downgraded to "limited" on Thursday.
Mid-week downgrades are rarely good news, but it's unlikely to be an issue for Bowe after he played through the injury in last Sunday's win. Bowe is fighting with Greg Jennings to be the league's highest paid low-end WR3.

Full disclosure, I started Bowe today but that has more to do with the sad state of my team than anything else. That being said, I noticed two weeks ago that Smith was looking down field and towards Bowe more often. I believe Bowe was injured last week but this week Smith has continued to looks towards Bowe a lot. He even went deep (box score won't show it) on a 40 yard pass but Bowe couldn't keep both feet in bounds. Coming out of the bye, KC is going to face DEN twice in the span of three weeks. I think there's value here.

Somebody in my 10-team league dropped him and I scooped him up mostly because of those Denver matchups. Smith's a smart QB, he's going to spread the ball around in smaller chunks -- which is good for PPR -- and the Broncos aren't going to let Jamaal Charles beat them. For the Chiefs to win those games, Bowe will have to be a big factor.

He's been heavily targeted in the 1st half of Bilks game. Smith has been going his way in nearly every situation. I wouldn't write him off completely just yet

Rotoworld:

Dwayne Bowe caught a season-high seven passes for 67 yards in the Chiefs' Week 9 win over the Bills.
Bowe had two drops, including one in the red zone, but ultimately this was his most promising performance to date. He came through with several clutch catches for first downs, and operated as Alex Smith's safety valve on in-breaking routes. We're certainly not ready to say Bowe is "back," but he's at least producing a bit again. The Chiefs have a Week 10 bye.

This is all you need to rea to know just how big of a bust bowe has been this year. A 67 yard day with 2 drops is his most promising performance all year. Couldn't be happier that I dropped this guy a month ago Lol

For a whopping 6 fantasy points meanwhile Kennan Allen who I picked up when I dropped Bowe ( See my earlier post in this thread) got 18.90 points. Like I said, been down the Bowe road cost me my season for the most part inserting his lame ### into my line up. good riddance.

Exactly. This is his high mark. I dropped him Friday for mike brown and I will take my chances.

Rotoworld:

ESPN's Ed Werder doesn't expect the Chiefs to discipline Dwayne Bowe, who was arrested late Sunday night on charges of speeding and possession of a controlled substance, until the case is resolved.
Bowe will be in the lineup for Sunday night's AFC West showdown between the 9-0 Chiefs and 8-1 Broncos. Bowe is coming off his best game of the season in which he registered season-highs in catches (7) and yards (67). That tells you all you really need to know about Bowe's fantasy prospects. He's a WR3/4.

And his schedule is very easy after the bye.
DEN, SD, DEN, WAS is probably the best four game stretch you could ask for.
He's very similar to Eli Manning. Excellent schedule ahead, but hard to trust that he'll get anything out of it. I gave Eli a second chance this past week and he didn't produce. Still, if you're willing to take a risk, Bowe might catch a couple of those 15yd. bombs from Alex Smith. I ashamedly still have him on my bench and will wait to see if a high scoring game will remove the shackles.

Rotoworld:

Dwayne Bowe will play and start in the Week 11 game against the Broncos despite getting arrested on speeding and marijuana charges Sunday night.

Under the new CBA, the Chiefs couldn't suspend Bowe even if they wanted to. The NFL could, but they won't review the case until after it runs its course in court. Ultimately, we'd expect little more than a slap on the wrist for Bowe. He's something of a knucklehead, but he's never been arrested before and his 2009 suspension was for violating the league performance-enhancing drug policy -- not the substance-abuse policy. Therefore, he's not a repeat offender.

looks like i'll be forced to start him this week (it's been a rough year with injuries). I honestly think this could be the week it all turns around.

and if it doesn't do it this week, i'm gonna hove to go fishing for WW trash.

Options this week for WR3 are Royal, Bowe, Nicks, and D. Baldwin. I am leaning towards pairing Baldwin with Russell Wilson. It's just hard to have any belief that guys like Nicks and Bowe are going to finally have a starter worthy fantasy day. On the other hand, Baldwin has been productive two weeks in a row. So I am ignoring the FBGs 'expert' rankings for this week. They have consistently rated Nicks and Bowe as top 36 WRs every week... Nicks as top 30. But neither of those guys has once justified that ranking.

I'm in a similar spot with nicks, Bowe or rishard Matthews. I wouldn't say those guys have never justified that ranking. Nicks has had two top 12 weeks in my ppr league. And he has 11 catches over last two games.

Bowes last game was a season high 7 catches. One game does not make a trend but it's something to consider.

Great start... needs to catch some of those drops though.
He could easily be having a bigger night right now. I don't think anything has really changed recently aside from Smith's willingness to take shots/feed Bowe. He (Bowe) is still pretty underwhelming IMO.

lol, really? looks beastly to me.

cant understand for the life of me how they havent been feeding bowe more all season. this guy is an elite talent, and if they wanna get deep this year, they need him to be firing on all cylinders

I agree with this. He fell down on his 25 yd gain and it could have gone for more because Smith led him nicely into space. On the inside slant attempt he had down by the goal line I was not impressed with his initial move off the line and he didn't get much separation.
