Draft 40 is terrible

Caddy Willams at 4. puke

Benson in the 2nd round. Way too early.

Parker and Anderson. Pure gross

Manning way too high for a QB in a 12 team league

Benson's tough to peg. Ask me if he's RB16 and I immediately say no... then I start making a list, and about 14 picks in, I'm scratching my head, and he ends up as RB16 on my list. He was taken as RB18 in this draft (and that was behind Mike Anderson!).

"puke"? He's a few picks too high, but "puke"?The rest I agree with.

Also, here is the top 20 in scoring from last year:

1. Alexander, Shaun SEA RB

2. Johnson, Larry KCC RB

3. Palmer, Carson CIN QB

4. Tomlinson, Ladainian SDC RB

5. Barber, Tiki NYG RB

6. Brady, Tom NEP QB

7. Manning, Peyton IND QB

8. Hasselbeck, Matt SEA QB

9. Manning, Eli NYG QB

10. James, Edgerrin IND RB

11. Brees, Drew SDC QB

12. Plummer, Jake DEN QB

13. Smith, Steve CAR WR

14. Vick, Michael ATL QB

15. Bledsoe, Drew DAL QB

16. Collins, Kerry OAK QB

17. Delhomme, Jake CAR QB

18. Portis, Clinton WAS RB

19. Green, Trent KCC QB

20. Brunell, Mark WAS QB

You can see that QB is, by far, the position that scores the most. While I feel Peyton was taken too high, it's not THAT egregious.

I personally would judge scarcity and drop-off by tier more than simple total point potential for individual players.

Yes, but that's also mitigated somewhat by QBs tending to last longer than RBs. The interplay of all these factors is why we have such wildly varying overall rankings despite being fairly uniform within a position.

Exactly, what you are showing with that top 20 is that there is very little difference between the quarterbacks, even more reason to pass on passers till later rounds.

You're not seeing the tiers that are there between the QBs.

Some of the big differences between Z37 and Z40 so far:

Tiki 6 vs. 12

Boldin 19 vs. 31

Gates 21 vs. 30

James 4 vs. 9

CJohnson 10 vs. 18

TJones 20 vs. 29

Palmer 22 vs. 33

Z40 surprises:

Adrian Wilson 10 spots ahead of Polamalu

Barnett 10 spots ahead of Urlacher

Chris Cooley :o before Witten or Heap

Ronnie in the 2nd but Ricky in the 4th?

As an owner of both in a 3 keeper league I am watching this situation closely. If they share time is Ronnie worth a 2nd? So if Ronnie goes in the 2nd it assumes Ricky is gone right? If we are assuming Ricky is gone, is he really going to slip to the 4th?

I don't understand the logic, either they should both go in the second or they are both RBBC and both 4th round picks, right?

edit: And I just realized that these were dynasty leagues. I suppose that accounts for the difference.

It's a dynasty draft. Brown is young and has more potential. You know what you have with Ricky and he might feel like smoking pot this summer.edit: And I just realized that you realized they were dynasty leagues. I suppose my post is a waste of space.

I rank Wilson over Polamalu - he's outscored him the past two years, why would he stop now?

Some huge differences are starting to show up...

Plaxico Burress 51 vs 36

Warrick Dunn 50 vs 27

Deshaun Foster 37 vs 67

Tony Gonzalez 34 vs 69

Ricky Williams 35 vs 49

I think Wilson's numbers go down as Arizona begins the inevitable climb to respectability. Seems to me a SS's tackle numbers go down when teams aren't running the ball the entire 4th quarter to run out the clock in another Arizona loss.JMO, of course....I have them pretty closely rated, just surprised to see him go almost a full round before. :banned:

Can't believe Gates is still following to the end of the 3rd, seems like his value would be sky high in the dynasty. Sure would be nice to have not only the best, but the best by far TE for the next 8-10 years.

I think the third is where he belongs. There are a lot of young TE's in the league and in the rookie draft this year that will make a pretty good impact.

Let's get back to Willie Parker. Top 10 RB?
Not in my list, but I think his performance this year has given him a solid slot in the steelers plans, but until the draft, I am not counting on him for that high a rb ranking......I would put him around 25th rb or so until the situation is clearer

Slinger

Footballguy
In z-40 I see he was picked right before the likes of D.Davis, M.Anderson, C.Benson and B.Westbrook. Not a bad choice considering he was the 15th RB selected.
