Top pick goes to worst team in regular season. Toilet Bowl results have no effect on first 12 picks. The 13th pick goes to TB winner, and that could be any of the non playoff teams. So, the TB winner will get his regular pick plus the #13, and then his regular pick again in the 2nd round. In addition to the top pick or instead of?Yes. 12 teams in the league, and the 13th pick goes to the Toilet Bowl winner as incentive for non playoff teams to remain competitive to the end.Not to hijack, but did someone get a comp pick or what?1.13 ...

S.O.D.2.06 for Coles
I was the one who made that deal with Jeff. I need Brohm to pair with Rodgers at QB and was very deep at WR. Hope it is a win/win.I'd trade away a 2nd for a proven veteran in a heartbeat (and I did in this league, 2.06 for Coles). The problem is that while 13 thru 24 are about even, go ahead and try and pick who will be the stud WR. Good luck with that.Agreed, there is not a big difference between picks 24 and 13.I am liking mid-2nd round value ...HyperActive 1 - Active Conference

Intriguing, I hate to have to pick any Denver RB because of the longevity of the position in Mile High. This is a RB that I know nothing about and had not heard of him until Denver drafted him. I would take a early second round flyer just in case the Hype meter goes berserk during the summer and Hope to trade him for an early first round pick for 2009, or get a solid established starter.I did not expect to see Slaton drafted at 1.11, I pulled him off my first two rounds and have him in the early third of a 16 team Dynasty league. This pick will be the most interesting.Come August, if leagues are doing rookie drafts at that point.1.01 1. McGahee owners or teams strong enough to wait a couple years. Why are ppl drafting ray rice so early? Yes, he has a lot of talent but he won't see much playing time for a couple of seasons.
Am I the only one who feels the whole Denver RB strategy is losing steam? That OL is not what it once was. I also think Travis henry is the unquestioned #1 as long as he is healthy this season and has tread left for 2 more seasons. Selvin Young is also still there and looked decent. I know nothing about this back and would not touch him until the late second at the earliest or 3rd round.mdog1967 said:Intriguing, I hate to have to pick any Denver RB because of the longevity of the position in Mile High. He could be a top 5 pick or RD 5 pick.
He's a major talent. Some view his situation much like Michael Turner.McGahee owners or teams strong enough to wait a couple years. Why are ppl drafting ray rice so early? Yes, he has a lot of talent but he won't see much playing time for a couple of seasons.
Totaly agree. Ray Rice is a very good RB who really reminds me of Emmit Smith with really good hands. He looks like he does not move fast but he has great football speed, and instincts that can not be taught. The kid can flat out play and will be the starter when McGahee's reign is done with in the next couple of years. At the very least he will assume the 3rd down role with ease. I also really like Mcgahee but his value in ppr has just taken a slight hit. Rice has better hands. He's a major talent. Some view his situation much like Michael Turner.McGahee owners or teams strong enough to wait a couple years. Why are ppl drafting ray rice so early? The cost of rice is going up everywhere. Haven't you been reading the news? And if a guy named Gas is in next year's draft, look out.Why are ppl drafting ray rice so early?

What do you consider "high"?I think it's funny when people blow their rookie drafts based on buying into situations that more often than not don't come to fruition.
Don't the names JJ Arrington and Brandon Jackson make your cringe when they were top 5 rookie picks?
My strategy has always been to draft most talented player available regardless of situation. As the saying always goes, the cream always rises to the top.
Torian intrigues me, but I had to do a double take where he was ranked on my predraft rankings - he almost wasn't there.
Taking the gamble high usually doesn't work out and you let more talented players go afterwards that you kick yourself for, and your bust of a player isn't worth a bag of balls on the trade market.
Just my![]()
I don't disagree, but cherry picking situations like Arrington and Jackson will lead to bad conclusions.I could just as easily point to guys taken late who performed well because of their situation, Housh and Grant to name two.I think it's funny when people blow their rookie drafts based on buying into situations that more often than not don't come to fruition.Don't the names JJ Arrington and Brandon Jackson make your cringe when they were top 5 rookie picks? Great. Remind me to offer a 1st in a couple years for him. Meanwhile, others can use a 1st now. He's a major talent. Some view his situation much like Michael Turner.McGahee owners or teams strong enough to wait a couple years. Why are ppl drafting ray rice so early? Yes, he has a lot of talent but he won't see much playing time for a couple of seasons.
I dont understand the Turner comparison, Turner was a 2nd day pick who was competing with Jesse Chatman coming off a good season to be LTs back up. A guy like Choice would be a better comparison for Turner this year. LaMont Jordan's situation with the Jets after they took him in the 2nd would be the best comparison for what Rice is looking at right now. He's a major talent. Some view his situation much like Michael Turner.McGahee owners or teams strong enough to wait a couple years. Why are ppl drafting ray rice so early? Yes, he has a lot of talent but he won't see much playing time for a couple of seasons.
not sure McGahee is anywhere close to Curtis Martin level yet, but I agree with your premiseI dont understand the Turner comparison, Turner was a 2nd day pick who was competing with Jesse Chatman coming off a good season to be LTs back up. I understand the Turner comparison easily, and I'm surprised you don't. How is Rice less of a comparison than Choice? Choice is the obvious #3 IMO, whereas Rice is the obvious #2. I agree with you about the comparison between Jordan and Rice where they were taken in respect to Jordan's position situation at the time compared to Rice's now, but don't compare Choice to Rice or Turner.I dont understand the Turner comparison, Turner was a 2nd day pick who was competing with Jesse Chatman coming off a good season to be LTs back up. Sure, but many compared Turner to Jordan too. It's simply the "talented RB behind a stud" concept.I dont understand the Turner comparison, Turner was a 2nd day pick who was competing with Jesse Chatman coming off a good season to be LTs back up. Turner wasn't nearly as highly touted as Rice when he came out of Northern Illinois, and he wasn't even a lock to be the backup - that's where I think the parallel falls apart. Also, Turner was drafted at a point when there was no way LT was going to be replaced because of age during his rookie deal - LT turned 25 right after the 04 draft. McGahee is going to be 27 this October - Martin turned 28 right after Jordan was taken. So, like Jordan, Rice could get a shot with Baltimore because McGahee starts to fall off in year 3 or 4 of his rookie deal, but then again he might not. There was no way you could envision Turner taking over for LT when he was drafted, you were definitely waiting for him to go elsewhere to get production.I understand the Turner comparison easily, and I'm surprised you don't. How is Rice less of a comparison than Choice? Choice is the obvious #3 IMO, whereas Rice is the obvious #2. I agree with you about the comparison between Jordan and Rice where they were taken in respect to Jordan's position situation at the time compared to Rice's now, but that is moot when comparing Rice now and Turner as a backup to LT2.I dont understand the Turner comparison, Turner was a 2nd day pick who was competing with Jesse Chatman coming off a good season to be LTs back up. Sorry, but the "Burner Turner" was highly regarded when he was drafted, but was drafted behind the best RB in the league. Sorry you don't remember that. I really liked Burner Turner when he came out, Ive been on the bandwagon from day one, but believe me, around these parts, very very few were touting him as a future starter . He had his backers, but every RB that comes out has their backers when they get drafted. It wasn't until after Chatman got cut and lots of people got to see Turner with their own eyes that his bandwagon gained steam.ETA: I dont care to hijack this thread any longer, I just think there's some revisionist history going on with Turner. Also - He was a mid fifth round pick - how does that equal highly regarded?Sorry, but the "Burner Turner" was highly regarded when he was drafted, but was drafted behind the best RB in the league. If memory serves, Turner was drafted later because of something stupid. Something character related.I really liked Burner Turner when he came out, Ive been on the bandwagon from day one, but believe me, around these parts, very very few were touting him as a future starter .
