NFL Media's Ian Rapoport spoke with one NFL GM who said there may be 10 RBs in the top 100 of the 2015 draft.
That number might not be as crazy as it sounds, but it is more likely 10 combined running backs receive top 100 grades than actually are drafted in the top 100. Nine running backs were selected in the top 103 picks last year. The closest comparison might be 2008, when 11 ball carriers were selected in the top 89 picks.

CBS Sports' Dane Brugler notes that Washington State redshirt senior WR Vince Mayle "would be a good "Plan B" for teams who miss out on WR DeVante Parker in the 1st round.
"Washington St WR Vince Mayle would be a good "Plan B" on day two for a team that covets WR DeVante Parker but doesn't get him in the 1st round," Brugler tweeted. The Washington State prospect has showcased strong hands, with the ability to high-point the football in contested situations this year. On the season, Mayle has hauled in 101 receptions and 1,405 yards which are each single-season records at Washington State.

UCF junior WR Breshad Perriman "is a NFL prospect who will get more and more ink if he declares early," according to CBS Sports' Dane Brugler.
"UCF WR Breshad Perriman is a NFL prospect who will get more and more ink if declares early. Good-sized athlete with big mitts," Brugler tweeted. The UCF prospect finished with four receptions for 139 yards and hauled in a miracle 51-yard Hail Mary as time expired to beat East Carolina 32-30 on Thursday. The 6-foot-2, 209-pound Perriman finished the regular season having caught a touchdown in seven straight contests, and nine of 10.

Louisville redshirt senior TE Gerald Christian accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Game.
The one-time Florida Gator has 30 receptions for 359 yards and four touchdowns this season. Christian has "good hands" and is a "surprisingly good blocker considering his size," according to CBS Sports' Derek Stephens. The 6-foot-3, 244-pound Christian has the ability to line up inline, as a slot receiver and in the backfield, as well. Stephens' colleague Dane Brugler believes Christian "has the athleticism to get open and create as a ballcarrier." Brugler called Christian an "underrated tight end prospect."

Thanks for posting, now I know to completely disregard this hacks opinion on the future.
He had three combined TD's but he didn't look that great, he missed some throws. Thanks for posting, now I know to completely disregard this hacks opinion on the future.
A lot of people will have Gordon ranked higher than Gurley.Shouldn't be a gap between Gurley and Gordon. As much as I like Gurley, Gordon is the real deal. He is going to be an absolute stud at the next level, especially when he is drafted by the Colts.1.GurleyAnybody want to take a shot at the top 12 prospects in order for a PPR league?
Gordon
Gurley
Cooper
Parker

Ohio State senior WR Devin Smith caught four passes for 137 yards and three touchdowns in the school's 59-0 win over Wisconsin.
Smith's touchdown catches went for 39, 44, and 42 yards. It caps a week off that featured praise for Smith's games from NFL evaluators. He can play a Kenny Stills-like role in the NFL and is even listed as an inch taller.
Dec 7 - 12:23 PM
Florida State senior WR Rashad Greene caught seven passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns in the school's 37-35 win over Georgia Tech.
Rotoworld's Josh Norris tweeted last night he will almost certainly have Greene ranked higher than he will be drafted. The NFL has an idea of the size/speed combination of "No. 1 receivers," and Greene will not fit that. However, the Seminole receiver is quite good with precise routes and a wide catch radius for his size. He can win inside and outside and will likely be selected on the second day.
Dec 7 - 10:40 AM
Alabama junior RB T.J. Yeldon rushed for 47 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries in Saturday's 42-13 win over Missouri.
While Yeldon's two scores were nice, Derrick Henry ended up with more carries (20 to 14) and more yards (141 to 47) than the junior. Yeldon's dealt with various ankle and leg injuries in the last few months, which have limited his production. He finishes the season leading the team with 932 yards on 184 carries. Opinion is split on what Yeldon's potential is at the next level. Some, like NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah, see him as a potential NFL starter. Others, such as CBS Sports' Dane Brugler, need to see more decisiveness from the athletic runner if he's going to be a featured back in the pros. Brugler's main critique has been that Yeldon tends to be overly patient when an obvious hole isn't available. We've seen that "too patient" criticism leveled at former Crimson Tide running backs before, notably in regard to Trent Richardson.
Dec 6 - 8:49 PM
Alabama redshirt senior QB Blake Sims was named the MVP of the SEC Championship following his team's 42-13 win over Missouri.
Sims was ultra-efficient in completing 24-of-27 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns. It certainly helped that Missouri's Shane Ray was ejected in the second quarter for leveling a late hit on the quarterback. Sims stood in tough and hit DeAndrew White for a 58-yard touchdown on the play, tossing a perfectly thrown ball deep down the middle. Earlier this week, CBS Sports' Dane Brugler observed that Sims had "intriguing tools," writing that his arm strength and athleticism, coupled with his toughness, at least somewhat off-set the fact that he's still raw as a passer. An NFL team might take a chance on him in the late rounds.
Dec 6 - 8:20 PM
Oklahoma senior TE Blake Bell caught two passes for 59 yards in Saturday's 38-35 loss to Oklahoma State.
Despite a relatively minor stat-line, Bell actually led the team with his 59 yards. Quarterback Cody Thomas only passed for 120 yards in the contest, as the Sooners limited risk by keeping the ball on the ground. Bell's been dealing with a minor knee injury. He's turned into a quality blocking tight end if nothing else and his physical tools (6-foot-6, 260 pounds, 4.97 forty) could be intriguing to a team in the late rounds, though anybody picking him will have to project a little as to Bell's place in a pro passing game.

From what I've heard, Maxx Williams seems to be the only real highly regarded TE in this draft class. Most say this draft class is pretty bad for the TE position overall.Didn't read the entire thread. Is there any good tight ends coming out this year? (yikes that is a real odd sounding question)
I think he will get picked on day two. He looks pretty good to me and has a valuable skill set.Rotoworld:

Agreed, Gurley is still my #1 as well. His injury never scared me away. I'm still riding that train.I honestly didn't see much from Gordon that made me separate him from Hyde or Sankey last year if he were to come out. I likely would have had him as my #1RB but that could be my 20/20 hindsight after seeing him this year. I've seen so much improvement from Gordon that you can color me impressed. Is it just me that didn't see it a year ago?
Gurley is still my #1 though ha
Listed as a WR here: http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/players.php?genpos=WR&draftyear=2016&sortby=tsxpos&order=ASCFunchess labeled as a TE, I love it.
Georgia Tech has a couple of interesting WR coming out; Deandre Smelter (6-3, 225), who's a better WR than Waller, is also coming out (though, he did tear his ACL against UGA).Anyone know anything about Darren Waller (6-5, 230) from Georgia Tech? They throw the ball one out of 20 plays so hard to gauge.......but he is a big dude.
Ohio State senior WR Devin Smith is an "explosive athlete with a 5th gear," according to ESPN's Kevin Weidl.
"Devin Smith has great focus tracking/adjusting to the ball. Explosive athlete with a 5th gear. Home run hitter," Weidl tweeted. The Buckeyes prospect caught four passes for 137 yards and three touchdowns in the school's 59-0 win over Wisconsin. The 6-foot-1, 197-pound Smith had touchdown catches of 39, 44, and 42 yards on Saturday. As a Buckeye, Smith has hauled in 118 passes for 2,371 yards and 29 touchdowns in four seasons. He has long speed and the ability to make the acrobatic catch.

Is Eddie Lacy even that good? I take this as saying, TJ Yeldon could be even better than average.
Lazy work, Norris. Hasn't updated any of the comments since his previous rankings and has at least one player listed that's going back for his senior year
If they were both healthy, I would prefer Gurley.Agreed, Gurley is still my #1 as well. His injury never scared me away. Senior Bowl executive director Phil Savage believes Wisconsin redshirt junior RB Melvin Gordon III compares to Jamaal Charles.
"He has big speed after getting through the first line of defense," Senior Bowl executive director Phil Savage told Sports Illustrated. "His NFL comparison is Jamaal Charles. He only had 82 carries his first two years, so he has plenty of mileage left on the odometer." As a Badger the Wisconsin prospect has 597 carries, and has rushed for 4,464 yards with 42 touchdowns, while averaging 106 yards per game and 7.8 yards per carry. Gordon III has potential to go in the first-round and has shown more receiving ability this year thanks to passing down exposures.

Harding senior WR Donatella Luckett accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl.
Luckett will be 24 on Draft Day. "Donatella dominates his current level of competition because of his height, weight and speed measurables," wrote Phil Savage, Executive Director of the Senior Bowl. "He is simply too strong and fast for these D-II defensive backs. He has a physical style when running the football and, as a blocker, he delivers some devastating, decleater-type shots when cracking the free safety. Although he is raw in his route techniques, he tracks the football well and can make the over-the-shoulder catch." The 6-foot, 210-pounder's potential as an NFL wide receiver "is a worthwhile investment because he can be a useful member of the active roster while he learns the nuances of the position," wrote Savage, alluding to Luckett's ability to help on all special team units as a rookie.

An NFL scout told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that Michigan State junior QB Connor Cook could get enticed into entering the draft early.
"Somebody will get to him and tell him that Jameis Winston will fall in the draft once people continue to do background work on him," said the scout. "I'd feel much more comfortable taking (Cook) in the second round but the (NFL) coaches are going to love him. He's big and has a strong arm and a quick release and he's very smart. Just not a very accurate quarterback." ESPN's Mel Kiper believes Cook "has a legit chance to go in Round 1" if he declares early. The junior has maintained he'll return to school for his senior season, but we won't know for sure until mid-January.

Auburn senior RB Cameron Artis-Payne accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl.
Artis-Payne's hugely productive senior campaign has him at 1,482 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns headed into bowl season. "He displays easy lateral burst with a strong plant foot to get north-south, knifing through holes with his jump cuts and lower body explosiveness," CBS Sports' Dane Brugler wrote late last month. The analyst added that Artis-Payne is an "older prospect and unproven in the passing game" but "has proven himself to be a draftable running back prospect."

Nebraska senior RB Ameer Abdullah drew comparisons to Giovani Bernard and LeSean McCoy from NFL scouts speaking with the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
Though Abdullah is a nice prospect, he faces long odds of reaching the second round merely because of the quality backs also expected to be available in the spring draft. That list includes, amongst others, Georgia's Todd Gurley, Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon, Alabama's T.J. Yeldon, Indiana's Tevin Coleman, Miami's Duke Johnson, Boise State's Jay Ajayi and Florida's Matt Jones. The 5-foot-9, 200-pound Abdullah is looking like a third- or fourth-round draft choice.

Oregon State redshirt senior QB Sean Mannion "drew the most praise" amongst senior QBs from NFL scouts polled by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
"More of a third-rounder," one scout said. "Just lacks arm strength. Good size, good production." We're a little flabbergasted that scouts continue to believe in Mannion. The signal-caller had a great 2013, but posted an ugly 46/39 TD/INT ratio in his other three seasons as starter (2011-'12, '14). He threw for 1,500 yards and 22 touchdowns less this season than he did last. And did we mention that Mannion struggles with pressure, leading to sacks and head-scratching interceptions? There are more consistent quarterbacks out there if you're looking for a late-round flier, but scouts refuse to give up on physical tools and Mannion's got those at 6-foot-5, 218 pounds, even if he hasn't shown much else.

Indiana junior RB Tevin Coleman "can't expect to improve" on his 2014 season and he might decide to bolt for the draft early while he's healthy, according to ESPN's Mel Kiper.
The 6-foot-1, 210-pound junior rushed for 2,036 yards and 15 touchdowns this season (the Hoosiers didn't qualify for a bowl game). "He has a chance to go in Round 2 if he leaves, which isn't bad for a running back," Kiper wrote. "And remember, he's a running back. Health matters because teams want a guy who can play right away at that position." The analyst believes Coleman could get coaxed back to school for another season if he's convinced he could work into Round 1 in the 2016 draft. We bet he's going to declare early either way.

Dec 9 - 9:28 PM
Auburn junior WR Duke Williams was compared by NFL scouts to Chicago's Alshon Jeffery and Tampa Bay's Mike Evans.
"Big, long, physical," one scout told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "He can run a little bit." In his first season with Auburn, the 6-foot-2, 216-pound Williams, who missed a few games with an MCL sprain, leads the squad with 43 catches for 730 yards. Williams is rather unpolished and would be best served returning to school, but if he hears late-Round 1 or high-Round 2 buzz, all bets are off.

Michigan State junior QB Connor Cook "has a legit chance to go in Round 1" if he declares early, according to ESPN's Mel Kiper.
"He's behind three other likely draft entrants at QB on my board, so there's no guarantee for Round 1," the venerable analyst wrote. "Cook is a talent, but he has work to do in multiple areas. If he leaves this year, he risks falling into Round 2 if he's not great during the draft process. And he doesn't look like a player who's ready to start as a rookie. If he returns, he could make more money down the road." We agree entirely with this assessment. The junior has said he's likely to return for his senior season, a move we think is in his best interest.

CBS Sports' Dane Brugler reports that "some scouts are highly intrigued" by Houston senior WR Markeith Ambles.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Ambles, a former stud recruit, has traveled a long road to draft relevancy. He committed to Tennessee in high school, switching to USC when Lane Kiffin bolted in 2010. He couldn't work his way onto the field, so two years later spent a season at Arizona Western junior college. Prior to last season, he transferred to Houston. "He is a NFL prospect to watch as a later round possibility," wrote Brugler.
