[Dynasty] 2017 Draft Prospects (1 Viewer)

Victor Bolden Jr is a guy I really like. If their is a deep sleeper in this class my vote would be Victor, I can't wait to see what he does at the combine. He reminds me of Tyreek Hill but a little bit smaller you'd have to watch him play to appreciate his abilities his numbers is not a reflection of his skills.

Keep an eye on him.

Walter Football's Charlie Campbell relays that one NFL scout called FIU TE Jonnu Smith a "Charles Clay clone" during Senior Bowl practice on Wednesday.
Campbell relays that the scout is high on Smith's "toughness, hands and versatility." In 11 games this past season, the 6-foot-3, 230-pounder logged a 42-506-4 receiving line. Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline views him as an undrafted free agent at this juncture, but he could certainly climb into the late-round conversation if he continues to impress during the pre-draft process.

What are people's view on Jamaal Williams?  He's a guy that kind of keeps rising up my rankings a bit the more I watch him and yet seems to be outside of the top10 RB's for most sites I've looked at.  Reminds me of a Forte/AP crossover with the way he runs.

I agree and also like him more than the draftniks seem to. I think he can be a steal.

He's a guy I've tried to move up but when I watch him he just doesn't do it for me. He overpowers college players as he runs hard but he doesn't make too many miss and I can't get passed that. There's probably 7 or 8 backs I'd take before him. I've only watched two of his games but I saw nothing that would intrigue me to watch more.

I will wait to see when and where he's going in the draft.

Zay Jones should have two touchdowns right now! One taken away by a horrible ref call (anyone surprised?) and the other by a penalty. He's catching everything thrown his way.

Tex

Jamal Williams is currently in the game. 4 rushes for 11 yards...... He does keep his legs moving but let's see what he does the rest of the way it's still early.

Tex

Webb missed on Reynolds who made a great move to get open. Smh Why do these QB suck in the Senior Bowl?!?!? I don't get it!

Tex

So far I'd rank the performance:

1. Zay

2. Reynolds

3. Howard (got pulled early in the game)

4. Ross (MS)

5. Dayes

If you watch him vs. Toledo he looks damn impressive in all facets.  I don't really follow college football that much except for looking at draft picks, but I remember hearing from the announcers saying Toledo is undersized on the defensive side.  So he had a fantastic game against them.  Obviously that would be his ceiling but it's a great looking ceiling in what was a close game.  Maybe it's just his running style that has me hyped with Forte/AP but I can see why some of his other games leave people with the impressive of unimpressed.

I can definitely see where you're coming from. I had him ranked really high coming into this season but after watching a few games I moved on. He shows flashes here and there as for as actually watching him play. I root for him to do well but there are way more backs in this draft that are more promising IMHO.

Major props to ZWK for generic rankings and Faust for all the draft order links.  Below is an average of the rankings, then converted to ZWK's generic rankings by rounding to nearest whole number and followed ZWK's generic rankings.  I sorted by PPR as most value receivers' long term value.  Count is number of times name showed up.

Also most of the NFL grades are in at www.nfl.com/draft/2017/tracker.  Write ups and some measureables on the site.  Last years top grades - Elliot was 7.09, J. Howard was 6.10, Fuller was 6.26, Treadwell was 6.25, H. Henry was 6.20, Wentz was 6.53, Goff was 6.51.

These averages exclude the maximum and minimum value in an attempt to kick out outliers.  This says do some serious scouting after pick 11.  Enjoy!

I would reject all those offers.

So then the gap after 2 is really that large?  Interesting.  I thought that Ingram would do it (decent shot Ingram outproduces one of those top two RBs for another year, maybe two - and you'd still possible get your favorite rookie WR at 4).  Thanks for the input.

Obviously the draft can change things, but as it is I was say yes the gap from 2 to 3 is that large.

We're talking one of the better 1-2 punches of RB prospects compared to the top RBs of most recent draft classes vs a 1-2 punch of WRs that rate very mediocre or possibly even slightly below average compared to the top WRs of most classes.

Things could change some if, say, GB takes McCaffrey at the end of round 1 and Indy takes Kamara in the mid 2nd.

Ingram is greatly devalued in NO. He's very inconsistent only because of the way he's used or the lack thereof.

I think it spesks to the value of cobb n lacy some too.... Depends on the league. While one n two are very valuable. Getting mike williams and or crey davis at 3/4 is pretty nice too... I personally draw another tier line there

Funny you should say that.  That may be true week to week - but (at least in my league, pretty standard non PPR scoring) he finished as between the #9 and #12 PPG RB each of the last 3 years.  Having said that, he's all over the place week to week.

Hmm, I'll throw out Cobb and the 4 and see what happens.  The guy has 2 and 3, and I have 1 and 4.

Depends, in my league RBs are hoarded to the extreme so I would pay quite a bit to move up to the top two slots.  Ingram > Cobb > Lacy for me.

Where does Zay Jones rank in that list? I was pretty high on him before he blew up at the Sr. Bowl.
I stopped at end of round 3 or top 100 in terms of averaging.  Zay Jones showed up twice for an average of 94.50, so nonPPR 40, PPR 57.  I suspect he will start rising up the boards based on the Senior Bowl.

NJ.com's Mark Eckel spoke to one NFL scout who called Texas RB D'Onta Foreman "kind of just a big, slow guy."

It doesn't sound like the evaluator is impressed. Expect to read a ton of LeGarrette Blount comparisons for Foreman during the draft process. Although Blount has been awesome with the Patriots, he did struggle at times with other clubs and is not the type of runner teams tend to use when behind on the scoreboard. Foreman's production in 2016 was insane.

One NFL scout compared Western Michigan WR Corey Davis to Jordan Matthews.
"Very reliable. Very productive," the scout said. "Could go in the first round, but he's really a second." We don't see this comparison from a few viewpoints. One, Matthews is solely a slot receiver at this point in his career, Davis has thrived on the outside and projects to that spot in the NFL. Second, Matthews is not the most reliable receiver in terms of drops. Perhaps the comparison was made based on size and post catch running ability.

ESPN's Louis Riddick, who interviewed to be the 49ers GM, tweeted his praise for Tennessee QB Josh Dobbs' Senior Bowl week.
We know how intelligent Dobbs is off of the field, as he studied to become an aerospace engineer, but that intelligence does not always equal high caliber play. In fact, we don't think Dobbs improved from his first season at Tennessee. He's nothing more than a late round option in our eyes.

Depending on the makeup of my team I might be willing to give up 2 for Ingram and 4.
