[Dynasty] 2017 Draft Prospects (2 Viewers)

Recovering from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder, Bucs rookie Jeremy McNichols "hopes" to be ready for training camp.

McNichols postponed his surgery until after the Combine and was given a four-month timetable. He sat out rookie camp and will be in a race to be fully healed by late July. At the Bucs' post-draft presser, coach Dirk Koetter didn't guarantee McNichols would make the final 53. Tampa Bay is deep in the backfield.

McNichols has been graded as the best blocking RB in this class. He's also a capable receiver. I still expect Rodgers to be the "starter" while DOUG is out, but this kid could be a factor those first 3 games if he's healthy. 

 
When Cardinals coach Bruce Arians was asked about the selection of Grambling WR Chad Williams in the third round, he simply stated "I don't like slow receivers."

"I don't give a sh-- how big you are. You have to be able to run behind people," Bruce Arians said. This is clearly his receiver philosophy and prioritizing speed has been a focus of the Cardinals recent drafts, i.e. John Brown and J.J. Nelson, among others. The team clearly didn't want others to have a shot at drafting Williams.

A.J. Green said fourth-round WR Josh Malone reminds him of a young Marvin Jones.

Bengals.com's Geoff Hobson reports some in the organization think Malone is ahead of where Jones was at this point in his career. Malone is a bit heftier than Jones, but both offer good speed and playmaking ability down the field. Hobson does not expect Malone to contribute right away, but he is a name to know in Dynasty formats.

Cardinals OC Harold Goodwin indicated he envisions third-round pick Chad Williams as Larry Fitzgerald's eventual successor.

Fitzgerald, John Brown, and Jaron Brown are all in contract years, so there will be playing time available for Williams in the near future. It's believed Fitzgerald will retire after 2017. "Knowing that Larry is going to one day walk away from the game, you talk about somebody that can carry the torch," Goodwin said. "(Williams) is the guy that everybody thinks can do that."

Fun listening to Greg Cosell blabbering on about the running backs. .Apparently Davin Cook is not a "foundation back" as opposed to Leonard Fournette.  Not all that concerned knowing Cosell's track record.  I still recall him calling Trent Richardson the greatest running back since ADP.   Also recall him insisting that TJ Yeldon was a foundation back, the year he was drafted, yet he has been replaced by "foundation backs" twice over.   

 
Eagles UDFA RB Corey Clement thinks he has a "very realistic" chance to make the final roster.

Clement said he signed with the Eagles partly because he grew up rooting for them but also because of their wide open depth chart. With Ryan Mathews (neck) expected to be cut once he is healthy, the Eagles lack a proven early-down option to pair with Darren Sproles. Wendell Smallwood will likely get the first crack at that role, but Clement could earn not only a roster spot but playing time with a strong summer.

ESPN Jets reporter Rich Cimini projects third-round WR ArDarius Stewart as a starter.

Cimini writes, "Coaches love the rookie because he's tough, physical and can make yards after the catch." Assuming the Jets keep Eric Decker, he and Quincy Enunwa should be the top two receivers, but Stewart should be given every shot to unseat Robby Anderson for the No. 3 job. He should be a big contributor right out of the gate.

Bills rookie QB Nathan Peterman said being selected in the fifth round has put a "big chip on my shoulder."

"I think going forward, it’s going to serve as definitely a good motivator for me and a big chip on my shoulder," Peterman said. "And I think that’s kind of always how I’ve played, too. So I’m thankful for it and just trying to go to work." Peterman was being talked about as an early Day 2 pick in the pre-draft process but tumbled to Day 3. What he does have going for him, however, is he was handpicked by the new Bills regime and could start games if Tyrod Taylor struggles or when/if Buffalo moves on from Taylor come 2018. Peterman is smart with adequate size.

Also starts ranking idp but then seems to stop completely, no defense in last 25 players ranked, no jarred Davis in the top 75 along with a number of others, he stands out though. What do you guys like about them?

whoa.... something must have happened to their database.... it did not look like this a few days ago.

 
Titans signed third-round TE Jonnu Smith to a four-year contract.

A four-year starter at Florida International, Smith caught 178 career passes. Standing in at 6-foot-3, 248 pounds, Smith tore up the Combine, posting eye-popping numbers across the board. Smith can be a body catcher, but is an all-around prospect in a deceptively-good landing spot. Delanie Walker turns 33 in August. Smith is worth a late-round flier in rookie drafts.
