[Dynasty] 2018 Draft Class (2 Viewers)

I was just talking to my buddy like a week ago hoping that Josh Allen would slip to 25 or later so the Steelers could grab him, but that is looking like a non possibility at this point.

With Ben saying he might play 3 more years, they probably don't go QB in the 1st. Especially with their need at ILB and a handful of really good ones this year. Also could go OLB if a great one falls to us, since Dupree might be gone after next year, and he hasn't played that great.

Completely agree.  ILB is probably the biggest need, and yet I saw some mocks this morning that had them going TE in the 1st... lol what?  A QB would set up for longer term success if they hit, but for the short 2-3 window the Steelers have left, patch work drafting is probably the best option.

If luck is 100% the colts could cash in that #3 teams looking to leap frog denver n nyj for a qb
This is almost  exactly how I see it playing out and why I don't think the Colts will be the team making that pick at 3.

But I'd add it's not just some teams leaping Denver or NJY, it's one of those two trying to leap the other, so long as one does not sign Cousins.

My strong opinion is the QB tiers go this way:

Tier one:

Darnold

Allen

Rosen

Tier 2:

Mayfield

I don't think a 5th QB gets into round one and I do see separation from the top 3 to Baker.  This all goes into why I think that pick at 3 is going to be coveted when QB's go 1 and 2 overall. Will be one tier one QB left. I do think a team like the Jets would pick Baker at 6 if  the top 3 are gone and they've not signed a Cousins type but I will strongly believe these next few months that Baker is a tier under the other 3 and teams will heavily try and move up to that third pick.

Totally agree. I think his stock will only rise once we get to the combine. Some team or teams will fall in love with him. I’ll be amazed if he falls outside the top 6 or 7.

Mel Kiper thinks he will go #1 overall.
He won't go #1 overall, this was just Kiper's way of getting people to read his Mock. He tries to have 1-5 very contrarian things in his early mocks so they get the clicks. Also, he needs a place to go and develop behind a capable QB, similar to Mahomes last year.

I put zero stock in Kiper but  Allen at 1.1 has legit merit and he's not the first person to speculate on it.  I've flip flopped on him or Darnold as leading candidate to go 1.1 for a few weeks now.

Penn State WR DaeSean Hamilton caught two passes for 42 yards in a 14-10 loss to the West in the East-West Shrine Game on Saturday.

Hamilton did have a 30-yard catch, but he'll likely be kicking himself for dropping a pass from J.T. Barrett that would have been a stroll into the end zone. While the game wasn't great, Hamilton absolutely improved his stock, with several analysts mentioning that he and Northern Iowa wideout Daurice Fountain as the best offensive players on the field. With his size (6'1/211) and athleticism, he likely has solidified himself as a mid-round selection.

Oklahoma WR Jeff Badet snagged five passes for 42 yards in a 14-10 victory for the West in the East-West Shrine Game on Saturday.

Badet (6'0/178) was a disappointment for Oklahoma as a senior transfer from Kentucky, but he was consistently mentioned by draft analysts for his strong play this week, and he had a quality game on Saturday. He started the week as an UDFA, but he may have worked himself into the later rounds because of his week.

Jan 20 - 6:26 PM
Memphis QB Riley Ferguson completed 4-of-11 passes for 63 yards for the East in a 14-10 loss to the West on Saturday in the East-West Shrine Game.

Mike Mayock of the NFL Network gave Ferguson a mixed review on his week of practice because of his erratic play and struggles with ball placement. We saw all of that on Saturday in Tampa. Ferguson did show off his arm strength on a couple of throws as well, but was also fortunate to not be intercepted on more than one occasion. The former Memphis signal-caller is one of the more divisive prospects at the position. Nothing that happened on Saturday -- or the week -- will change after this.

Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett completed 5-of-13 passes for 69 yards and a touchdown in a 14-10 loss to the West in the East-West Shrine Game on Saturday.

Barrett's line is ugly, but a a couple of important things to keep in mind. First, the game really doesn't matter, the scouts are here to see how they perform in the practices, and Barrett got positive marks there from analysts. Second, Barrett got very little help from his receivers, and his best throw was dropped by Penn State's DaeSean Hamilton. Finally, the game really doesn't matter. Barrett's ability to maneuver out of the pocket with quality short-yardage accuracy make him a competent backup prospect. That might be his ceiling, but you can do a lot worse.

Northern Iowa WR Daurice Fountain caught three passes for 61 yards in a 14-10 loss to the West on Saturday in the East-West Shrine Game.

Fountain also returned two punts for 40 yards, including an impressive 30-yarder. He also had one ugly drop, but for the most part, it was easy to understand the hype. He was the fastest player on the field, and he made tacklers miss on two of his throws. The fact he comes from an FBS program will naturally hurt his stock, but the 6-foot-1, 210-pound wideout appears to be working his way into the middle rounds of the NFL Draft.

ESPN's Steve Muench writes that Colorado State WR Michael Gallup is a player who could see his stock rise with a strong showing at the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Gallup put up big numbers for the Rams the last two years, and was an analytical darling in 2017; ranking as Pro Football Focus's top wideout. Still, there are some concerns that could be alleviated with a strong showing this week. "[Gallup] shows deceptive burst after the catch, and it tends to take more than one defender to get him on the ground, Muench writes. "A tough open-field runner with enough elusiveness to make a defender miss and the balance to bounce off contact, he also flashes the ability to make highlight-reel catches." If Gallup performs well, he could solidify himself as a mid-round pick -- maybe even higher if someone falls in love with his skill set.

ESPN NFL writer Matt Bowen mentions Oklahoma State WR James Washington as a mid-round pick to watch during the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Keep in mind that in this case, mid-round pick means not first round pick. Washington has gotten first-round grades from some analysts, but most have him going in the early-to-mid second. "The body control is there. So are the ball skills. But where is Washington in terms of route running, and does he have the lateral ability to shake cornerbacks consistently at the line versus press-man?" asks Miller. "We will get a much better feel for Washington's development as receiver during competitive drills and team periods this week."

ESPN's Todd McShay writes that Troy QB Brandon Silvers has the most to prove of any quarterback at the Reese's Senior Bowl.

McShay notes that Silvers (6'2/208) has a quick release and adequate arm strength, and he's been a productive player over his four years with the Trojans. "I think he has the most to prove of the QBs in Mobile, McShawy writes. "Specifically, I'm interested in seeing how he adjusts to working under center (footwork, reading coverages while dropping back and more) after playing almost exclusively in a shotgun offense. I also want to see better touch and trajectory on downfield throws." If Silvers can show those traits, he has a chance to be a Day 3 pick come draft time.
