[Dynasty] 2018 Draft Class (2 Viewers)

247Sports reports that Texas RB Chris Warren has received an invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine.

Warren (6'2/232) saw his career with the Longhorns devolve over the course of three seasons after he opened with an encouraging 470 yards rushing at a 6.6 YPC clip during his true freshman campaign. He failed to surpass that yardage total in either of his next two seasons. Injuries and inconsistency were near-constant issues for the running back. All of that being said, he'll have a chance to make his mark with evaluators in Indianapolis at the end of the month. We don't expect him to be drafted barring a surprise explosion at the combine.

In an updated scouting report, Walter Football's Charlie Campbell compares Penn State TE Mike Gesicki to Colby Fleener

As a receiver, this is a compliment. As a blocker, well, Gesicki is still a terrific receiver. As one source told Campbell: "Gesicki is Coby Fleener. Tall, lean, probably will run fast, horrendous blocker - even versus defensive backs. He's got some high-point ability, but I have seen him drop his share of contact catches and contested catches, too. I don't feel he's as a strong as he could be." Campbell also lists Pittsburgh, Miami, Baltimore, Green Bay, New England, Jacksonville and Houston as potential landing spot for the 6-foot-5, 242-pound tight end.

Not sure but I listened to a Move the Sticks Podcast a few days ago where Bucky and DJ did a mock draft where each guy got two picks in a row and in their joint on-air mock draft they had two TE's go in round one with both going in fairly similar area that Engram and Njoku got picked.

One of those was Hayden Hurst who DJ mocked to Titans, which I thought a bit odd since Delanie should be good to go for another year and Jonnu looked solid. The other made more sense to me which was Goedert to Jags. 

I was mulling this over a few days ago. Last year's class was the most athletic TE class I've ever seen, the 3 you referenced as well as someone like Everett  all tested good to great. This years class won't test as athletic as that group, but a lot of the best TE's to ever play did not test out anything remarkable.

 
Miami TE Chris Herndon plans on going through a full workout before the NFL draft and is ahead of schedule on his MCL recovery.

Herndon was forced to not attend the Senior Bowl after tearing his MCL back in late November. Herndon might participate in a few Combine activities, but a full workout likely will be finished at his pro day. Herndon is an intriguing option in this tight end class, and likely winds up as a third day selection.

Oklahoma State QB Mason Rudolph was the second highest-rated passer on play action passes of the "big six" quarterbacks, according to Pro Football Focus.

Of the big six, only Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield has a higher rating (154.3) than Rudolph (137.4). The play-action pass is a big part of NFL offenses -- and has been for quite some time -- so excelling at it certainly helps Rudolph's stock. There's a long way to go, but right now it seems that Rudolph's stock is just outside of the first round. That could change as we get into the combine and pro days.

Former NFL personnel executive Greg Gabriel doubts the Browns use the No. 1 overall pick on a QB.

"He’ll take the best football player on Browns board then come back and take a QB at 4 ( if he doesn’t sign one in FA). That’s smart drafting," Gabriel tweeted. It is absolutely a possibility, but we find it very unlikely. From his first day in office, Dorsey said the top priority is to acquire a quarterback. If that does not happen in free agency, it will be with the first pick. Why risk another team liking the same quarterback you do and jumping your team's spot in the line to draft that passer? Teams do not go into the draft loving every top quarterback. They find the one they love and go get him. Expect the Browns to do the same.
