Maybe he didn't want to risk injury. I don't know. Not sure how all the experts love a guy and then turn on him out of the blue. You'd think he wouldn't even be considered as the top WR taken in the draft (which he was the favorite to be mid-season), if he couldn't separate. They should know this stuff way in advance. I'm not buying it, and I'm not buying this Sony Michel bandwagon, all over a player that played 4 years of college ball, and because he went wild at the end, where people were watching, he's all of a sudden a future stud. Still think Chubb is better.

Has he been a top prospect for 3 years? Or has a certain loud segment of Twitter that follows devy players been talking him up for 3 years? That's what we need to figure out. 

It can be tough to evaluate some of these guys when there isn't a clean slate like with the unknowns who pop up later--there's years of hype to sift through, years of certain people already being invested in Sutton's value. He's already been on some devy rosters for 2-3 years. The conversation about guys like that is not 100% unbiased (not that any prospect evaluation really is, but it's worse with guys like this, where there's  been an established Twitter narrative from devy guys longer than most people in regular dynasty leagues have even been aware of the prospect). 

 
One AFC scout handed a Day 3 grade to Oklahoma TE Mark Andrews, calling the Sooner "a big slot receiver."

"He won't block at all so what do you have other than a big slot who is an average athlete?," the scout adds. This might be a bit harsh. We don't exactly know Andrews' ability inline since he rarely played there, and he did constantly win mismatches in the slot and outside, even creating yards after the catch with choppy footwork. The scout could absolutely be correct, but we think destroying a prospect for something he wasn't asked to do is a bit harsh.

I agree on Michel.  He’s a good prospect but people are going crazy over his performance in the playoffs and will overdraft him.

it's not like he was a bum before that, he just shared touches with Chubb and others.  I believe Michel has a lot more upside than Chubb.

As do I.  Not a fan of Chubb as a fantasy prospect.  But we have 4 years of tape on Michel and people seem to be putting a lot of emphasis on his last 2 games.

I'm not.  One thing that concerns me about Michel is his fumbling every 54 carries.

Agree. Him and chubb  destroyed oklahoma whos def stinks. However look at chubb vs sony against alabama def. You can see that extra quickness and speed that sony has. Bama shuts alot of studs down fournette as a big example. 

Fumbling is probably why sony was on the bench vs bama late in the game

Courtland Sutton is interesting to me because I can't make up my mind.  Could he be Keenan Allen?  Possibly, lots of questions about him not able to separate but Allen had the same questions if memory serves.  Only guy I could think of that had questions about separation, and has had great success.  Could he be Laquon Treadwell?   Possibly.  He seems like the obvious comp when people watch him, and I get that but it's probably somewhere in between.

Them too for sure, it's early forgive my mind not being super sharp yet. 

That kind of proves my point though.  Those 3 Keenan Allen, Nuk Hopkins, Alshon Jeffery, all were pretty widely ranked it seems maybe the average scouter or whatever, that doesn't do it professionally have no idea how to rank these types of players.  Even the NFL.  Keenan was a 3rd rounder, Nuk was a 1st rounder, Jefferey was a 2nd rounder.  Not bad in terms of picks, and Nuk seems to be the best of the bunch, but 2nd and 3rd round picks aren't exactly confident picks of believe they are studs.

Same could be said for almost anyone. Especially Michel.

Some of his takes on Twitter are laugh out loud bad. Knowing he spent so long working in the NFL is the perfect example of the good ol' boy network, and why the league can be so stagnant. I truly believe that guys like Gabriel populate most scouting departments across the league, and it's why a guy like Belichick can run circles around them just by thinking outside the box and not letting emotion rule him.

Another good recent example was Florio reporting that McDaniels could flake on the Colts a few days before it happened. Gabriel not only disagreed, he went out of his way to be a tool and say something about it being nothing but a figment of his imagination, that he was pulling it out of his ###. Such a doofus.

He is usually late to the game, after almost everyone else has put out lists/rankings.  He gets a lot of respect here and I know he watched a lot of NFL film and can do a good job of telling you  what happened but I think as a scout he's habitually late to the game for a reason.

If John Kelly runs a sub 4.3 40 he will generate the most buzz. One highlight I watched claims his speed at ~22 mph and 4.25 40 time. There’s bound to be a back taken later that does well in this class. The Kelly/Walton/balledge/wadley/freeman tier is intriguing, especially when you look at the WRs around the same spots. Combine will shuffle it around a bit, the draft a bit more, but I think picks 5-25 are going to vary a lot League to League.

I've used 4 mid-late round picks on WRs the last 3 years (C. Davis, Docston, Parker + DGB (ugh)) and watched the Hunts/Kamaras/DJs go later and run wild. 

So I'm taking a close look at this tier with my 1.8 and plan on taking a shot instead of a Washington or Sutton that may fall to me. So far I'm really liking Kelly and Walton.

I have 3/4/9 and can’t wait to see combine #s and landing spots. Likely just bpa everywhere, which may end up as 3 rbs. I won’t pick again until 3.03 though, so I’m hoping tes and qbs start popping up and kick a player down to me there.

Zero chance Kelly runs that well.  I love him as an overall prospect but his speed is the biggest drawback.  I’d guess he runs in the 4.6 range

I doubt he's that slow, but at best I'd probably say 4.42?  I bet his splits for 10 yards and 20 yards will be top notch though.
