[Dynasty] 2019 NFL Draft Class (2 Viewers)

Should say Bills neutralize Nkeal Harry.
Nah.  Blake Bortles made fantasy stars out of a lot of WRs thanks to entire quarters of garbage time.  Josh Allen has a stronger arm than Bortles, and doesn’t seem to be appreciably more incompetent (low bar to clear...).

I think a WR headed to Buffalo isn’t the worst investment of a mid to late 1st this spring.

The Draft Network's Joe Marino believes NC State redshirt senior QB Ryan Finley is a "maxed out prospect that can be an NFL backup."

Marino has been extremely confused when seeing Finley mocked in the first round as he believes Finlay is "just too limited physically, his accuracy beyond 10 yards is lacking, his trigger can be slow and he’s going to be 24 in December after 6 seasons in college." Speaking to his lack of physicality, Finley lacks arm strength and was unable to throw a 55-yard hail mary into the end zone in Thursday's loss to Wake Forest. Finley will likely be a late-round pick for a team that likes his short-range accuracy and gaudy collegiate counting stats.

Per Pro Football Focus, Missouri senior QB Drew Lock completed 10-of-13 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns when being blitzed in Saturday's game against Vanderbilt.

Lock was strong against the blitz but had his moments of poor play otherwise. He was horribly inaccurate in the first half, completing just 11-of-20 passes with an interception. The Tigers were trailing at halftime to an underwhelming Vanderbilt squad, but Lock flashed his potential on the way towards a comeback 33-28 win. Lock will be an incredibly divisive prospect for the 2019 draft with some scouts believing he could be the first quarterback off the board if Oregon's Justin Herbert and Ohio State's Dwayne Haskins don't declare.

Per Pro Football Focus, Nebraska senior WR Stanley Morgan caught 8-of-9 targets including two touchdowns and three first downs in Saturday's game against Illinois.

Morgan racked up 62 of his 131 yards after the catch and forced four missed tackles on the day. He has been on a tear the past four games, recording 32 receptions 463 yards, and six touchdowns. He'll look to continue his dominance in a tougher matchup next week against Michigan State.

Memphis junior RB Darrell Henderson recorded 87 yards after contact in Saturday's 47-21 win over Tulsa.

Henderson tore up Tulsa for 166 total rushing yards, forcing three missed tackles and compiling a whopping nine combined touchdowns and first downs. Henderson (1446 rushing yards) only trails Wisconsin's Jonathan Taylor (1548) in total rushing yards on the season and will try to narrow the gap next week against SMU.

I doubt I'll be drafting any QBs in dynasty leagues before the mid-to-late 3rd round.  Even in a good year for QBs I usually don't draft them before the 2nd round and I doubt this is a good year for QBs.

Cal Poly senior RB Joe Protheroe has rushed for 1,647 yards and 13 touchdowns on 329 carries through 10 games.

Protheroe (5'11/230) just rushed for 260 yards and a touchdown on Saturday, which extended his 200-yard streak to three games. The senior back is leading all FCS players in rushing by 146 yards and his 13 touchdowns are tied for fifth. His volume should at least get some NFL eyes on him, but like all FCS prospects, he has to test well to have any shot at an NFL future. Protheroe does have the frame of an NFL running back at least.

Tylan Wallace - WR -  Cowboys

ESPN's Todd McShay lists Oklahoma State sophomore WR Tylan Wallace as a prospect on the rise.

Wallace (6'0/185) has been sensational as of late; he has two 10-catch, 200-plus yard performances in the last three games, with the in between game being an 8/122/1 effort. "Wallace is a true sophomore and won't be draft-eligible until 2020, but his above-average speed pops," McShay writes. "At just 6-foot and 185 pounds, he has average size, but he can still come down with the ball on contested targets and excels at adjusting to poorly thrown passes." McShay believes that he's a potential day-one pick, meaning he has a chance to be taken in the first 32 selections.

Ryquell Armstead - RB -  Owls

Temple senior RB Ryquell Armstead received an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Armstead (5'11/215) is coming off a monster game on Saturday, rushing for six touchdowns and 210 yards in the upset victory over Houston. He's far from a one-week-wonder however, as he also ran for 14 touchdowns as a sophomore, and has been among the best running backs this season in the AAC. Armstead currently projects as a Day 3 prospect to most analysts.

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. lists Duke redshirt junior QB Daniel Jones 18th on his updated Draft Board.

Jones is now the second rated quarterback on the board, trailing only Oregon's Justin Herbert who ranks fourth. With rumors that Herbert could be heading back to school in 2019, that could make Jones the first quarterback taken, as Kiper notes. "The most impressive trait I've seen from Jones this season is his ability to buy time in the pocket and use his feet to get square and make a throw," writes Kiper. "He has thrown 26 interceptions in his three seasons as the starter, and he forces passes at times, but he has mostly cut down on the poor throws this season, as he has only six picks." Jones is a volatile prospect to many, but there's a real chance he goes high in 2019, assuming he gives up his redshirt senior season.

Jalin Moore - RB -  Mountaineers

Per an Appalachian State press release announcing the acceptance of his Senior Bowl invitation, redshirt senior RB Jalin Moore (ankle) had the cast on his right leg removed earlier this month.

Moore was given an 8-12 week recovery timeline when he suffered a fractured, dislocated ankle in the Oct. 9 win over Arkansas State. That would seem to give him enough time to mend for the Jan. 26 Senior Bowl. Moore, however, is almost assuredly out for the rest of Appy's season.

Appalachian State redshirt senior RB Jalin Moore (ankle) has accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Moore (5'11/205) was lost for the season due to a fractured, dislocated ankle sustained against Arkansas State in mid-October. He subsequently underwent surgery and was facing an initial 8-12 recovery timetable, so on the shorter side of that, he would likely be able to play in the Senior Bowl come the end of January. Moore's career at Appalachian State was a prolific one which saw him top 1,000 yards rushing in two seasons of his four active seasons. For NFL purposes, he will be fighting it out for a Day 3 selection come the spring. Medical checks will be of the utmost importance once the predraft process gets underway this winter.

quite excited about this guy. I think he is underrated and could be as good as any qb in the last few drafts

I don’t understand how many people are completely writing off this draft class. I understand the QB class isn’t oozing with talent. The RB class lacks a clear cut top dog, or a “generational talent.” I get all that, but I am almost certain there will be more 1st round selections at combined QB, RB, WR in 2019 than there was in 2018.

So it seems like people are disregarding this draft because of the lack of depth at QB (which does that even matter after the last few years of QB rich drafts? With so many leagues with 1 QB, and QBs going round 2/3 in rookie drafts, why does this matter?) and with the lack of a real sensational RB like Barkley was last year. I see several RBs who are pretty exciting and just as good, if not better, prospects than Freeman, Jones, maybe even Johnson and Guice.  The 2nd and 3rd rounds are going to have a lot of talent, with 1 or 2 going round 1.

I guess I just find it hard to comprehend how some people in this forum are completely disregarding the 2019 draft pretty adamantly. A lot of these people are posters that 9.5/10 times I completely disagree with, so I guess their opinion doesn’t hold much weight. I just feel like this WR class especially is going to be the class that eventually changes the top rankings of fantasy WRs. Holding your strength at WR seems to be a good recipe for success in dynasty, and this is a great year to grab some amazing talents. I see up to 3 of these WRs being "generational talents" at WR. That's exciting.

2019 is lacking as things stand right now (as a whole). Most of the recent big boards (top 32) at this time have 1 or 2 QBs, no RBs, 2 or 3 WRs, & a TE. Matt Miller has all 3 WRs lasting longer than DJ Moore did this year. In fact, 2 of the 3 are 31 & 32. WR was supposed to be this classes' strength.

There'll no doubt be some value like ALL draft classes, but it's looking poorly. The QB & RB classes are MUCH weaker than 2018.

How many picks you own in a class can't be the reason it's good. It changes nothing. Many of my peers also view this class as disappointing right now.

This class simply doesn't have a good look at this time. Hopefully, some of the better prospects in this class make a big jump & some of the under-the-radar guys emerge.

It's still early so we'll see.

That's a bold call. There were 10 first round QB+RB+WRs in 2018. The last time that there were 11+ was 2012.

Yeah, I know, but there are several great wrs who will make a push for 1st round consideration. I see 3 QBs depending who declares. possibly 4. 1 or 2 RBs. And then I see a large number of wrs potentially going. depends on the combine of course. I see potentially 2 in the top 10.

And I'll set the record straight. just because I have a number of 2019 picks doesnt mean I like the draft class. I have a number of 2019 picks because I like the draft class.

What I meant by my comment earlier (who wasn't directed at anybody) is it's good to have picks & be excited (depending on what you paid),  but you have to be realistic with your expectations with a particular class.

Most people view this class as a little disappointing at the very least. It was supposed to be highlighted by some exceptional WR prospects, but they've taken a bit of a dive in most people's opinion.

There's always going to be 1st-round QBs, but this QB class pales to last year's. RB is extremely weak right now & the WRs haven't been as good as advertised. TE could be pretty decent.

I got out of this class as much as I could (when it made sense), but I want to stress there'll still be value. And like I said, it's early so it could get better.

There's no doubt you can find gems, but the chances are quite a bit less than in recent classes, IMO. It'll be interesting to see how it shakes out. Sometimes a FF class can be helped by prospects going to good situations. Lots to be determined yet.

I really like the 2019 class for WRs.  Not so much for RBs.
Same here but I really want a stud RB and there isn't one in this class.

I like these 4 WRs: D.K Metcalf, N'Keal Harry, Marquise Brown, Riley Ridley. I'll take whoever gets to play with a franchise QB that will be around for the next decade.

AJ Brown > DK Metcalf IMO.  I can see Metcalf as another Treadwell.   I also like Anthony Johnson WR Buffalo and Kelvin Harman WR NC State.   The thing that bothers me about Marquise Brown is that he's only 5'10 168.  I also like N'Keal Harry.

Metcalf is better than Treadwell. I was never high on him. Now if his 40 time is a slow as Treadwell's. I'll drop him down the list. Who would you compare AJ Brown to? Anthony Johnson strikes me as a guy like Mohammed Sanu. Never elevates to the #1 guy but puts up pretty good numbers. One of the guys you have on the team that you never start except for bye weeks or injury replacements. I need a guy putting up great #s.

Haven't figured out Harmon yet. He's not fast and the NFL is going with fast guys a lot more lately. That's why if M. Brown goes somewhere that has an accurate QB, his size won't matter. Yeah, he's tiny. But another 15 lbs and he's in the Tyreek Hill, Antonio Brown weight area. Supposedly he came into OK about 145 so he's already added weight.

Anyone care to venture an early top 12 picks in dynasty for the rookies?
It's so hard to do without knowing what team they are on. A guy you put in the top 5 gets drafted by OAK or BUF drops like a rock. No consensus #1 RB. Lots of guys but none stick out above everyone else..

Harmon will run a about a 4.5 / 4.54 40 at the combine.  His ability to win on passes above his head or outside his frame is his strength.  He is a well rounded WR.   Earlier this year he was uncoverable against Syracuse.  Whether it was ripping off a 74-yard touchdown or displaying his elite body control and ball skills on back-shoulder throws, Harmon did it all. He finished the game with 11 catches for 247 yards with two touchdowns.
