[Dynasty] 2022 NFL Draft Class (1 Viewer)

Pro Football Network's Aaron Wilson reports Nebraska WR Samori Toure is drawing "heavy interest" from the Chiefs, Bengals, Packers, Colts, and 49ers.

A rising wideout prospect as the NFL Draft draws near, Toure -- who set a Cornhuskers record with five 100-yard receiving games in 2021 -- could be a sought-after player for receiver-needy teams like the Chiefs and Packers, who last month lost Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams, respectively. Toure in 2021 had the second highest yards per reception (19.5) in Nebraska history thanks to a host of big downfield plays in the Cornhuskers offense. His four catch, 150 yard, one touchdown performance against Ohio State in November drew national attention. He transferred to Nebraska from Montana, where he caught 155 passes for 2,488 yards and 20 touchdowns over three years. Toure would have immediate fantasy intrigue if he were to land in Kansas City of Green Bay.

SI's Albert Breer reports that the Panthers are visiting with quarterbacks Malik Willis, Kenny Pickett, Matt Corral, Desmond Ridder, Sam Howell, and Baily Zappe.

Carolina is leaving no stone unturned as they try to figure out the future of a depth chart that currently reads: Sam Darnold, P.J. Walker. The Willis visit had been reported earlier this week, but it's not a surprise that Carolina is trying to gather as much information as they possibly can. The thirst that this team has for a young option is immense and Darnold -- if he even starts the year as the quarterback -- will likely be usurped at some point by any quarterback drafted in the first two rounds.

LSU RB Tyrion-Davis Price has meetings scheduled with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington Commander, Carolina Panthers and the Houston Texas.

While not generally a candidate to go in the first round, Davis-Price (6'0/211) is still garnering interest from teams picking early in the draft, suggesting he could be an early pick in a later round. Davis-Price had a nice season for a disappointing LSU team, rushing for 1003 yards and six touchdowns. He'll stand on his 4.48 40 time from the combine and not run at his Pro Day, and it's quite a solid time for a man of his size, and he's a bruising type of runner anyways.

WHERE IS KAYVON THIBODEAUX'S DRAFT STOCK?

Oregon pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux visiting Lions, Jets, Giants, Texans, others

Oregon EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux reigned king in a host of statistical categories, according to Pro Football Focus.

Thibodeaux (6'5/250) should come off the board and find his home with an NFL team within the first 10 picks of the 2022 NFL Draft. The career numbers Thibodeaux posted with the Ducks are reflective of just how much talent he brings to the table and where he stands among his counterparts. According to Pro Football Focus, Thibodeaux's 87.8 overall grade was first among Pac-12 edge rushers, as was his 90.9 pass rush grade and his 19% pass rush win rate.

Michigan RB Hassan Haskins leads all power five backs in carries without a fumble.

So much goes into being a talented back in the NFL -- speed, agility, and toughness come to mind, but also dependability, and Haskins (6'1/220) has that. The former Michigan running back had the most rushing attempts without a fumble since 2019 with 452. Two years without a fumble is a big deal and that will certainly get a team's attention. He hasn't been talked about much during the predraft, especially as he recovers from an ankle injury, but teams are going to be looking at him as a mid-round and possibly the fifth or sixth running back taken off the board.

Dane Brugler@dpbrugler

DL Eric Johnson is the highest-graded non-Combine prospect in this year's draft guide (which will be released in a few days). Looked outstanding at his pro day as well (4.86 40 at 299 pounds).

Greg Auman@gregauman

Missouri State DL Eric Johnson didn't get a combine invite, but has a busy month of visits after a strong showing at Senior Bowl. Top-30 visits already and upcoming with Saints, Lions, Chargers, Colts, Packers, Bengals, plus Bears' local workout this week (from Plainfield).

Albert Breer@AlbertBreer

On draft prospects making "30" visits, usually they mean one of 4 things ...

1) Team has genuine interest.

2) Team wants other teams to think there's interest.

3) There's an off-field issue to address with the player.

4) There's a loose end injury-wise for the team to tie up.

SMU WR Danny Gray has multiple visits lined up for this week.

After running a blazing fast 4.33-second 40-yard dash at the combine, it's no surprise that Gray (6'2/180) is highly in demand. He visited with the Raiders on Monday and the Vikings on Wednesday with visits planned with the Saints later this week and the Colts and Eagles for next week. Ranked 73rd on PFN's Ian Cummings' big board, Gray is projected to be a mid-round selection in the NFL Draft.

Western Kentucky QB Bailey Zappe is the highest graded quarterback of the 2022 NFL Draft Class on passes of 20+ yards.

Zappe (6'0/215) spent one season with Western Kentucky and went on to set the FBS record for passing yards in a single season (5,967) and touchdowns (62). He may struggle to find a starting job at the NFL level, despite the impressive numbers, but PFF.com grades him as the best deep ball passer of the class with a 97.6 grade. Zappe led an almost exclusive aerial attack with the Hilltoppers last season. They finished with a 9-5 record, while two receivers went for over 1,400 receiving yards. Zappe has shown nice touch on his deep passes since the season concluded at the Senior Bowl and his pro day workout.

"While catching up with sources around the league this week, one thing I heard over and over again is that more quarterbacks could go in the first round than we are projecting." NFL teams are always going to talk themselves into QB prospects.

Of course they are. And higher too. At this point in the process opinions have magnified and solidified even if they may not be accurate.

An opinion of "not very strong" QB class has morphed into "these guys are garbage".

But the QB position, more than any other, is weird. Pre-draft pundits had a lot of reservations about Mahomes and almost (I said almost) none about Lawrence.

The fact of the matter is that at any one time about 3/4 of the league is either looking for some talent at the position or is looking for an upgrade.

You're behind the 8-ball when you don't have a QB. It mandates that you expend high draft capital in even an attempt at improving the position.

All that can be summed up with the simple idea of - supply and demand drives up price. And that's still true when the supply isn't great.

Cowboys draft profile: Mississippi State WR Makai Polk may just be scratching surface

Mississippi State WR Makai Polk Receives Late-Round Grade in WR Rankings

Three Things to Know About Mississippi State WR Makai Polk

Mississippi State junior WR Makai Polk has declared for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Polk (6'3/200) reportedly asked to be evaluated as an NFL Draft prospect, and liked enough of what he was told to decide that now is the time for him to take the leap to the next level. This season for the Bulldogs, Polk broke out for 1,043 yards and nine touchdowns on 105 receptions, after catching no more than 19 balls for 296 yards in his two previous seasons at Cal. Polk worked out wide and largely served as a possession receiver, averaging just 9.9 yards per reception while having an average depth of target of 8.6 yards according to Pro Football Focus.

According to Sam Monson, Rutgers WR Bo Melton is a big sleeper in this upcoming draft.

No one is talking about Melton (5'11/195) in this draft, but if watch some of his highlights, it's as smooth as hot butter. He has the amazing route running abilities and knows how to set up a defensive back to create separation, he comes along with stellar after-the-catch skills with double-digit missed tackles the last two seasons. With a 4.36 40 at the combine, the deep threat ability is there and he can be a great late-Day 2 option as a complement to a team's WR1.
