Dynasty Leagues (1 Viewer)

What are the basics of most of the leagues you guys are in?How many teams?Do you have a salary cap?How much is it?Etc.I'm looking to join one, so I'm curious.
Usually 16 or 32 teams.Usually a contract cap or a salary cap. One league has both.My leagues are usually about $50/year. Try to get into one where teams pre-pay year two, as that discourages owners from trading all their rookie picks and bolting after they go for the gold ...

Most dynasty leagues don't use a salary cap or contracts. 12 Team dynasty leagues with anywhere from 22-26 player rosters seem to be the most popular. Recently I've seen a shift giving 1 ppr or 0.5 ppr for WR and TE only. . IDP leagues aren't that popular to most, but some love it. The 3 dynasty leagues I commish (Fantasy Legends I, II, and III) are all $100 entry fee leagues. The 3 other dynasty leagues I'm in are HyperActive Dynasty League ($75, 2 conferences 12 teams each conf, 26 player rosters), Champagne Classic ($100, 12 team, 20 player roster), and Misfits and OutLaws I ($100, 12 team, 20 player).

this is how mine is, 12 teams, 30 man rosters, 8 guys being IDP's, keep guys as long as you want, .5 per catch for wr and te's. I love the set up myself.

I personally like the following-

14 team, 24 man roster

6 pts Passing, Receiving, Rushing TD

No PPR

Team D/ST

Start 1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1 Flex (RB, WR, TE)

I'm in a 12 team league with a $200 salary cap. We do an auction draft and player salaries are set at what they are drafted for and then increase every offseason until they are dropped. Roster sizes are flexible from 16-19 players. We think that this setup forces enough roster turnover so that a completely depleted team could rebuild within 3 years or so. If you get a young guy cheap ($1) and he becomes a star you could probably keep him for 8-10 years before getting very expensive. Rookie RBs with high expectations get drafted in the mid-teens, so you're looking at maybe 5-6 years prior to getting expensive to hold on to.

10 team, IDP league, with 47 man rosters

start

1QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex(QB,RB, WR, or TE), 1 Flex (RB, WR, TE) 1 K

3 DL, 4 LB, 3 DB

so basically it is a start 2 qb league with 6 point passing TDs

entry fee is 100.

we dont use salary cap or contracts.

I prefer 12, 14 or 16 team dynasty leagues.

Most I play in have the following:

20-24 man rosters

No IDPs

1PPR for RBs, WRs, and TEs

10 man starting roster: 1QB, 1 or 2RB, 2 or 3 WRs,1 TEs, 1 PK 1D/ST 1or 2 flex (RB, WR, or TE)

Keep between 12 and 15 form last years roster

Seperate Rookie draft of 2 to 3 rounds.

No salary caps or contracts

I think a 16 man roster for a dynasty really puts a nice swing on things during the intitial draft.....the #1 pick isnt as apt to get 3 flash players right from the start.

Balances....

8 team dynasty league - currently just completed our 4th year!

50 man rosters

Start 2QB - 2RB - 4WR - 2 TE - 2K - 2 Flex RB WR

All TD = 6 pts.

1 pt. for every 50 yd. passing

1 pt. for every 20 yd rushing and receiving combined

$100/year which is paid one year in advance

No waiver wire but two supplemental drafts during Week #2 and Week #8.

my friends are in year 1, draft is tuesday for our start-up 12team, 20 man roster, 6pts all TDs, 5 point bonus for 10+ receptions any player, turnovers -2

i'm pumped, i've never done dynasty before, somewhat nervous for the draft but, according to my friend, he started his other dynasty league 3 years ago, ended in last place, last year won the league, and this year has 1 player from his original roster...so not as set in stone as i thought with this draft...have most people experienced the same or ????

There are number of dynasty leagues organized through here, there's a forum for it.

I'm in one dynaasty - 12 team, 45 man roster, full IDP (11 starters, plus 8 on offense)

Some dynasty leagues have contract years, salaries, or both.

Openign seem to be much more common earlier int he season.

I'd recommedn you try and get in one pre-draft, as taking a team after it's drafted makes it harder to fix up the way you want.
