Eagles go down to the Ravens! (1 Viewer)

I am also in for the Eagles, although it seems like a small amount of risk for a rather large return.  You will have fifty people running around with the sig of your choice should the Ravens pull the upset, but only one person (namely, you) having to "wear" the sig should they lose.  A good bet on your part, but as an Eagles faithful I feel somewhat obligated to defend our honor and participate, despite the lopsidedness of this sig bet....
:rotflmao: :rotflmao: An eagles fan calling the bet unfair cause jwvdcw is the only one participating. Did you happen to notice that the Eagles are favoured by more then a TD, yet he is willing to put his sig on the line for a straight up bet.If anything, jwvdcw is the one getting hosed here!
bump to keep this thread alive......Hey, I said I was in on the bet. However, it would be a little more fun if there was equal participation on both sides. I am just calling it like I see it, a good risk/reward ratio for jwvdcw. BTW, with Westbrook probably out, where are all you Ravens fans? The game is looking to be a bit closer than originally anticipated. Now it comes down to the Eagles passing game vs. the Ravens defense. I highly doubt the Ravens offense will score a ton of points, but a defensive struggle gives a slight edge to the Ravens. The game should at least be interesting. When are we going to hear what the actual "sigs" will be?
Westbrook out?How about Jamal Lewis and Jonathan Ogden(quite possibly both the best at their positions) out?

ravens have no offense whatsoever, and without heap, jamal, and ogden they are not going to be able to sustain the eagles even if they hold them to 14 or 17

How about Westbrook, Buckhalter, Ritchie, Andrews, Kalu? All starters. Does anyone else remember the rash of injuries the Eagles suffered this season? C'mon. Good teams have depth! And I shed no tears for a drug dealer. JLew is out by his own doing. Jeez. And ppl want to bash TO? Pleeeez.

Here are the guys the Ravens will be missing Sunday:Heap (Pro Bowl)Ogden (All-Pro)J. Lewis (Pro Bowl)P. Boulware (Pro Bowl)I don't think you'd find a person in the world who would trade those four guys straight-up for Westbrook, Buckhalter, Ritchie, Andrews, and Kalu.Let's face it - the Ravens are very thin on offense to start with. And when you then subtract the only 3 good players from that side of the ball, it makes things very tough.I just hope the Ravens can stay in the race until everyone gets healthy, because they will be a very formidable opponent on that point. In particular, they are already # 2 or 3 in the NFL in sacks, and Boulware has yet to play a down. Once he and Suggs are coming off the edges simultaneously, and with the Ravens' outstanding secondary either making the QB hold the ball or rush a throw into tight coverage, this team is going to be tough. This week, however, not so much.

Good posting. And not only are Heap, Lewis, and Ogden pro bowlers, but they are definitely the to 3 at their positions and possibly the best in the entire NFL.

can we get an update, closure on sigs, and an edit to the original post?
I'll edit the orginal to show who is in for each team so far...I'm not sure what you mean by 'closure on sigs'.I will provide my sig(the one the Eagles fans will use if Balt wins) tomorrow. I expect the Eagles fans to come together and do the same.

I'd gladly do a sig bet on which Lions RB will end up with the most fantasy points under 1pt/10 yard rec or rush, 6pts/Td, 1pt/rec.I don't think many of you cowards would step up though :boxing:

LOL I'm in for the ravens..But, I'm getting offered McNabb in a trade..LOL If I do trade for McNabb, I might just cheer for the Eagles...lol

sig rec for Ravens Loss:

I hate on TO. Yes, yes I do, I HATE TO, I HATE TO, I HATE TO. I hate on TO because he backs up what he says on the football field, unlike my hapless Crows. My Ravens have off the field issues, but thats ok since I am a blind homer and want to hate on TO because it helps me forget all the off-the-field antics of at least 3 of my players. As a Ravens homer, I yet again failed to understand there are two sides to the ball: Defense AND Offense. While Kyle Boller can throw 60 yard passes from his knees through goal posts, all he did on Halloween was get on his knees for Kearse and Dawkins.

PS - The only good Raven out of Baltimore is The Raven beer.

I like it JAA, but maybe be more specific with JLew's suspension. My version would be something like:"As much as I hate TO and his big mouth, he dosen't hurt his team nearly as much as our drug dealing RB's suspension. Once again, TO backs up his talk with superior play on the field. Philly showed us that the Ravens aren't the only team that can play defense as Jim Johnson made Kyle Boller look like a child among men. I can only hope that the emotional scars he suffered don't linger the rest of the season."

Feel free to use some or none.

I kept that out per the rules "nothing personal". Can we get a ruling?

Count me in on this thing. Do I respect the Raven D, Yes.Do I respect the Raven O, They have an O????You clowns need a Defensive TD to win this game because your offense is a flat out joke without Jamal or Heap out there. and Ill save you the embarrasment of talking about Boller.Eagles fans, no worries here.Ill be perched up in Section 218 enjoying the victory

You've brought up a few thought provoking points and I now agree that I WAS mistaken

If Ogden plays...

Eagles 3134-Ravens 17

If Ogden is injured...

Eagles 3438-Ravens 73

:rotflmao:
I'll pass on the original sig bet, as I'm alittle leary about going on the road w/o 2 offensive Pro Bowlers and the Leagues OPY......I WILL accept alittle action w/Mr Wood regarding the points generated by the Eagle's in this game

34-38 points just isn't going to happen Jason

sack up, cowboy
nothing from Wood on this, as I figured...blowhard38 points ?

Final sig for the Ravens fans if they lose

And here is the sig for the Eagles fans if they lose:Oh yes, I love the NFL! I love McNabb, I love Eagles, I love Touchdowns, I love Tagliabue, I love Pinner, I love Sunday afternoons, I love footballguys, I love jwvdcw's polls, I love the Super Bowl, I love football. One time in High School, McNabb recovered three fumbles. Thats pretty impressive. He is my favorite player ever(even more than Cunningham). What I don't love is the fact that my Eagles always choke in the post season. I may act like a tough guy, but deep down I was crying with jealousy when the Ravens won the super bowl in 2000 because I know that my Eagles under McNabb will never come up big in the clutch like that. Every regular season I brag and brag about my team, yet I'm always strangely quiet once the super bowl comes around. The thing is that deep down in my heart, I know that we're a 'regular season only' team, so I know that now is the only time I have to gloat.I think the Lions should play the Patriots more often. Thats a swell matchup. Joey vs Tom, Ty vs Roy, Adam vs Jason- That is what football(or should I say 'glueball') is all about. I truly do love Tagliabue.

Moreover, I think it would be great if the Detroit Lions played at New England more often. Thats a swell matchup. Harrington vs Brady, Law vs Williams, Vinateri vs Hanson- That is what football(or should I say 'glueball') is all about. I truly do love Paul Tagliabue.

Kinda long, don't think. I don't mind punishing Eagles phans, but lets not do the same to the fourm server

OK, I've cut it down from 10 lines to 8 lines....I think that 8 lines is very reasonable.Edited to add: Their sig for us Ravens fans is 9 lines long.

for someone that types his fingers to the nubbin on each and every thread I must say that is the weakest sig line bet material that I've ever read. I would've thought someone with enough imagination to think Baltimore has a chance to win could've came up with something that would have blown grimms fairy tales outta the water. I want my ten minutes back

You avatar frightens me  I am throwing out all of my pork-based products in FEAR because of it. Are you happy with yourself?

Oh and just to add...yes I do consider making fun of R Lewis' murder charge to be personal and not football-related. Sorry if you all consider that unfair, but I don't think thats appropriate to joke around about.
Pvssy.

Agreed, both sigs are horrible.

Kyle Boller - I have faith in you today. We need you! Please don't think that me starting the Eagles defense in most of my leagues today shows a lack of faith in your ability - it's a ploy to make them over-confident.
