Oh lord that’s incidental contact
The defenseless receiver one I can see why they did it. He did hit him in the back of the head though. Can't be hitting guys like that.NFL needs to fix some of these rules
On the 4th and 20?The Eagles punting instead of going for it was a terrible decision then and even worse now that they lost.
Agreed. That sack they flagged Bennett on that turned into a TD was a game changer.NFL needs to fix some of these rules

It's the hypocrisy of the NFL that bugs me. That was a weak hit to the helmet. And compare it to what Sony Michell did on TNF to the DB where he lowered his head and slammed him. The NFL wont make that call. Ask 100 people which head collision they rather take and they are going to say the Ertz hit. I just feel bad for defenders at this point. NFL cares more about keeping the "names" healthy than they do player safety. The defenseless receiver one I can see why they did it. He did hit him in the back of the head though. Yes. I love Doug because of his aggression. No idea what he was thinking there. The Eagles punting instead of going for it was a terrible decision then and even worse now that they lost.
Sorry, meant kick the FG, not go for it. I know it would have been a really long FG, but punting there is just not optimal. On the 4th and 20?
Pretty sure that would have been a 60+ yard FGSorry, meant kick the FG, not go for it. I know it would have been a really long FG, but punting there is just not optimal.
Their punt was actually a great punt, but typically that is a touchback.
That's not usually a touchback. Most punters can sky it from there for a fair catch. I say it's 50/50 if we go for that kick. A missed 58 yarder and its a sure loss. Easy in hindsight to say that, but if we held them and minny punted, it would have been a great call.Sorry, meant kick the FG, not go for it. 57 yarder.Pretty sure that would have been a 60+ yard FG
After you posted, I wondered if going for it was worth it anyway, even if you could pick up like 15 yards with a theroretical chance to get the first down.Sorry, meant kick the FG, not go for it. I know it would have been a really long FG, but punting there is just not optimal.

The problem was with the 3rd-down play call more than the 4th-down one. You need to decide what you're going to do on 4th before you call the 3rd-down play and Doug clearly hadn't.After you posted, I wondered if going for it was worth it anyway, even if you could pick up like 15 yards with a theroretical chance to get the first down.
It only made sense if you were confident your defense would not allow any more points. There was no reason to have such confidence based on what we had seen thus far.The Eagles punting instead of going for it was a terrible decision then and even worse now that they lost.
