Early - MNF Game Thread W12 - Pitt vs Miami (1 Viewer)

Saw a few related topics but not really about the game itself. Sorry if I missed it but don't think I did.....

Rain has me a bit concerned about the Pitt offense. Should be interesting to see how they come out. And.....Ricky's back.

Either way, should be a Pittsburgh beat down kinda game.

The Steelers themselves, after last week, will hopefully come out sharp and should not underestimate them.

I, as a Steeler fan, am ok with underestimating the Dolphins. Still think it will be a butt whoopin'.

I know one thing....Big Ben better keep an eye out for Porter........as he might be a little.....fired up.

I expect Pitt to have a statement game after their embarassment by NYJ. I think Washington (who I don't own) scores on at least one bomb.

What are the thoughts for Ben tonight?

Keep an eye on Steelers RB Willie Parker’s workload in the weeks to come. Parker really struggled vs. the Jets in Week 11, gaining only 52 yards on 21 carries, and there are whispers that a season of heavy work is starting to wear on him. Entering the Week 12 game vs. Miami Monday night, Parker was on pace for a career-high 373 carries.

I have Miller, Big Ben and Ward. What kind of night do you guys think they'll have. Hard to know, I'm thinking they run it a lot.

A guy walks into a bar wearing a Dolphins jersey, carrying a cat that's also wearing a Dolphins jersey and also a little Dolphins helmet.

The guy asks the bartender, "Can my cat and I watch the Dolphins-Steelers game here? My TV is broken, and my cat and I always watch the game together."

The bartender replies, "Normally, cats wouldn't be allowed in the bar, but it's not very busy in here right now. Sure, you and the cat go have a seat at the end of the bar. But if there's any trouble with you or the cat, I'll have to ask you to leave."

The guy agrees, and he and his cat start watching the game. Pretty soon the Dolphins kick a field goal and the excited cat jumps up on the bar and starts giving everyone high fives.

The bartender says "Wow, that's pretty cool! Does he do that every time they score?"

The guy nods, "Yeah, every time."

The bartender asks, "What does he do when they win a game?"

The guys answers, "I don't know, I've only had him 10 months."

we actually need an early thread for this blowout in the waiting? I'm game:

Here's what I need:

I need Pitt to get zero Tds on special teams, int's, fumble recoveries. Also, no sacks, int's, fumb recoveries, safties, blocked punts or FG's. In addition I need pitt to allow miami to put up 33.33 points and 333 yards.

I also need Ward to sit in this game. Or play and have no receptions.

I don't think this will be a blowout in the least. Pitt is missing several key players and the field/weather is a complete mess which means just about anything can happen tonight.

Rotoworld:

Jesse Chatman-RB- Dolphins Nov. 26 - 7:18 pm et ESPN's Michelle Tafoya reports Jesse Chatman will start on Monday night. We'll have the inactives up shortly, but it looks like Chatman is going to give it a go on the new sod at Heinz Field, which is lumpy and slippery and could pose problems for Chatman's shaky ankle. Ricky Williams, who was activated Monday, and the other Dolphins' backs could play as well.

This will be something I miss as more and more teams go to field turf, muddy. Nothing's worse than seeing a clean uniform at the end of a game.

Pittsbrugh inactives:

WR Santonio Holmes

S Troy Polamalu

QB Brian St. Pierre (3rd QB)

RB Gary Russell

LB LaMarr Woodley

C Marvin Philip

G Darnell Stapleton

T Marvel Smith

This kind of sucks. As much as I like watching a good old mud fest, I was really hoping to see how Ginn had been progressing. Given these conditions, it may be worthless to even watch.

Did I just hear the following?

The new grass was put on top of the old grass (within the last 48 hours), so, the rain has to drain through two layers of turf? There were dudes out on the field earlier today with pitchforks poking the grass so it would drain?

ISN'T THIS THE NFL?

What the hell?

This all sounds like poor planning on The Steelers' behalf.

Interesting -- I haven't heard anything about LT Marvel Smith being injured. Max Starks will take his place. He didn't play badly the last time he had to spell Smith at LT, but he doesn't have a lot of pro time at the spot.

The stadium is used for High School Championship Games all day on Sat. 4 of them for the 4 classifications. The final game does not end until late Sat night. Normally, it would just be a quick swap out of the turf. However, this Sat night is when the hard rain began coming down thus preventing the crew from getting the job done.

Two words:FIELD TURF

The tarp had seams and the seams leaked?

What kind of mickey mouse operation are they running over there? I thought this was a multi billion dollar industry!

I hear ya...How about the fact that the field tarp has "creases", so, the water for the entire field drained in certain spots on the field. Jeeez, you'd think they could get a tarp without creases or holes in it

Wow - no lines... are you kidding me. When your laying down lines 30 min before gametime thats not good.

I think this was done on purpose to slow down the impressive team speed on the Dolphins.
