Eddie Royal vs. Robert Meachem (1 Viewer)

The age old question in dynasty formats of "what is better". A rookie that is showing great promise or a 2nd year showing great promise. Both have had great camps and looks like both will get a good shot at plently of playing time. Both have shown great skills in pre-season and showed promise that has people scratching their heads. Both have speed and catching ability etc...

Seems like when you put them up next to each other they are very simular except for the 1 year difference in being in the NFL. Do you put extra value on the guy that has been in the league and learning for a year or the rookie...

There are alot of other scenerios out there but I thought I would put names to the question. Right now I look at promise and for my drafting strategy if I was picking between these 2 I would go for Royal.

Which would you choose if given the choice? Does the "rookie hype" / "sleeper hype" weigh into that decision?

Meacham didn't play at all last year......that being said I'm watching closely. At this point Royal is the safer choice, but more upside IMO for Meacham.

i'm going to vote for the guy that is a nominal starter. he's unproven but he's #2 WR in Denver. Meachem, while talented, doesn't have the #3 position - much less the #2 - locked up yet. Royal will get more opportunities to produce this year. on the field experience is the edge in this circumstance.

If this is a dynasty question, which I believe it is, I'll take Meachem all day long. I love his skill and the teams' offensive plan. Meachem looks completely healthy and dedicated. This former first round draft pick will excel throughout the year and come into camp next year as the unquestioned #2 wr on a high-powered offense.

I agree.Dynasty = MeachemRedraft = Royal

I have both. I agree that Meacham represents the better dynasty play, and has a much higher ceiling, IMO. If he becomes the #2 in an offence that throws the ball 600+ times a year, he's going to have a great opportunity to post some good numbers.

Immediately though, Royal is the #2 WR, and with Marshall out for 2 weeks minimum, I wouldn't be opposed to starting Royal in the first two weeks at WR3. In fact, I am starting him since Marshall is my #2 WR!
