Edge, still overrated? (1 Viewer)

When he made the switch to Arizona the love for Edge dropped pretty good, but I think that was as it should be. But even as he is considered now I'm starting to think he's fallen even further. Any thoughts?

Glad I dont own him. Az cannot run block. With Leinart now starting, expect some bumpy weeks ahead.

If I had him I would try to get any value I could out of him. I don't care if its selling low. It doens't matter if you think the guy's gonna stay low.

Of course he has. people are trying to ditch him off like yesterday's garbage right now. he has a horrible line and now i rookie QB. not exactly the makings of greatness for an injury-prone aging back. I'd personally rather have c taylor or fast wp.

 Hasn't he only been hurt once in his 8 year career where he had to miss multiple games games?

his knee injury was horrible and a huge question mark, lets be real.he's not a spring chicken anymore either.

tell me you don't worry about knee injuries with F Gore or W McGahee, not necessarily because they haven't bounced back, but because their first injuries were so bad.

regardless, the point remains that edge was largely a product of the system and his physical ability alone isn't cutting it in arizona. the list of hinderances (tangible and intangible) that Edge faces in Arizona as opposed to Indy is immeasurable.

good running game=good run blocking

bad running game=bad run blocking

i dont care what anyone says-

people dont put enough emphasis on oline, edge is a great back, but you cant run over or make people miss before your feet get a chance to move.

his value will only increase if his new qb-likes to check down to him

Two different things. Injury prone is not the same thing as "He isn't the same as before.". But I do agree with you on both of the points that he is not the same as before, and he was a product of the system. If you want a RB who has a really good chance to play all 16 games, Edge would be a good one. All 16 games might 55yds and no td's though.

Did you see my other post in the Assistant Coach forum? A fellow is offering me a trade for him that includes chester taylor. I'm thinking it's best to sell low right now, but I'm just not sure if Taylor would be going too low.I mean, how low is too low with this guy?

I'd almost like to dump edge just to get rid of the temptation to start him ahead of others. :loco:
